Custom Carved Artisan Pumpkin

Hi there friends! You know how crazy I am about owls, right? The other day I decided to take the plunge and ordered a spooky owl in a tree custom-carved artisan pumpkin and I was able to pick it up tonight.  I first met Nancy a few years ago at one of our Stampin’ Up! Garage Sales (before we offered BOGO), and she is quite the crafter! She has a business called R.I.P. Creations, and she makes a wide variety of carved pumpkins! Nancy has a booth up at the Moreau Marketplace every weekend (1433 Rt. 9, Moreau, NY)- She is there Saturdays and Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm but the weekend of October 24th and 25th she will be there from 9 am to 4 pm. If that is too far for you- she lives in Glenville and I’m sure she’d be willing to meet you somewhere close by (Target parking lot worked great for us).

She even includes the strobe light (just needs 2 “AAA” batteries) or you can put any battery operated light underneath.

Look at another custom pumpkin she made for a customer:

Here is a link to her Facebook page- you can check out her other awesome creations:

Guess what the R.I.P. stands for? go ahead, take a guess;….. it’s not what you think 😉

Here is her contact info, in case you want to order a custom carved pumpkin in time for this Halloween:

Fall Fest was a Blast!

image

Last night I had the pleasure of helping out at Glendaal Elementary School’s Annual Fall Fest! I decided to have the kids decorate the fancy favor box die with Halloween stamps and punch art.

The boxes were a big hit! I had over 60 kids come make one! I could not believe how many cute costumes there were! There was a pie eating contest, crockpot cook-off, photo booth, races and games in the gym, cookie decorating, cider and donuts, and more crafts. The organizers did a great job, I was super impressed!

So thankful for these awesome helpers, they are in the Give Program at the high school and came to help out as volunteers! I could not have done this project without them! Thanks ladies!

How cute is this Trio from Frozen? I had to burst into “Let it Go”…. Got a few chuckles…

Greta was a great helper too, she made lots of boxes up to help others and she was right there to give a hand. She is one of the cadets in our girl scout troop, so proud of her!

How cute is this mother-daughter duo? They found a quiet corner to work together on a cute Halloween box!

These boys were awesome, they had great ideas and seemed to be in “awe” of the bat punch! Their boxes were unique and they even came up with a handle!

I love seeing girls and boys having fun with crafts, and boy were some of these kids creative!

Do you have a special Halloween tradition? I’m looking forward to a fun Halloween with the kids next Friday!

If you love Halloween as much as I do, you might want to check out the Clearance Rack, there are several items there for your Halloween crafts- you can stock up for next year!

Have a nice weekend, thanks for stopping by to read my blog today!

Stamping with Seniors

Hi there stamping friends!
I hope you all survived the tropical storm Karen’s wrath today! I have to admit I am very anxious in thunder storms, so I was glad it wasn’t as severe as they predicted. Some flooded areas that were hard hit. Hope you are well.

I wanted to show you the projects I designed for my next Stamping with Senior Citizens this Saturday morning. I really need a few more helpers so this event will go smoothly. If you are free from 11 am to noon (or even at 10:30 am when I get there to set up), I will let you make the projects for free as my thank you for the extra hands. I think children aged 1st grade and up would be great helpers too, if interested, let me know!

The mummy box will hold some treats, the little witch box is a mini luminary (with flameless tea-lites), and the pumpkin is on a magnet backed clothespin, perfect for holding a list, photo or card on the fridge.

I volunteered to help put a craft station together for Glendaal Elementary School’s Fall Fest later this month, and I’m going to have a station where kids can make this clothespin or a bookmark.
fun, fun.

Hope you have a great day!

Halloween, My Digital Studio- MDS

BOO Banner and Halloween Class

Hi there stamping friends!
I wanted to share with you the Halloween projects I came up with to go along with the BOO banner for my Halloween Class last night:

I made the little muslin bag by using our software called My Digital Studio (or MDS for short), and using the new coloring feature, I changed the color of each word. The key is to remember to change it to a mirror image, and I copied it 9 times on my 8×10″ page, then printed on iron-on transfer paper. I used my dry, hot iron and this bag was done in 2 minutes! I made the tag in MDS also, as I didn’t buy the Halloween Bash stamp set, I thought I would get a lot of use out so this set in its digital form. I cased this idea from a concept artist at Stampin’ Up! Named Christine.

I was inspired by Lorri H., a demo, for the Halloween Greetings card and our new orange glitter, I added another pendant and the black pearls to my version.

The candy corn treat was on Pinterest and was cited as an Artisan award winner, but I haven’t been able to find out which one.

The extended swing card with the Halloween DSP for the dress was my own design.

I’m sorry I forgot to take photos of all the action! I need to put a reminder on my phone or something! I think all the ladies had fun!

So what do you think? What is your favorite from this Halloween class? Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a great day!

TGIF… Lynnzcrafters Team Stamping

Wow, this was quite a week, wasn’t it?  i love my weekends, so much more time for stamping and creating… I prepared a couple fun cards for my team get together tonight, here they are, what do you think?

image

I wanted to feature new products, so we are using the new circle and label thin lists to be able to make these cute “swing” cards, it’s so easy! The little leaf file folder card I learned how to make while watching a you tube video from another demonstrator named Patty Bennett. Wouldn’t this be a great card for a secretary or co-worker? It was so easy with our new envelope punch board and stamping trimmer.

Spoiler alert, the little Halloween card featured here is also a card my club girls will make too (in addition to the fall banner I showed you he other day).

Did you see my post yesterday about the clearance rack new additions? Well, I saw online that some items are already sold out, so if you had your eye on something get it quick, and don’t forget to use my hostess code to get the lower price and to be entered to win my monthly on,one drawing.

Well, thanks for reading. Have a great Friday!
