2nd Annual Christmas Retreat

Hi there friends, First of all, I want to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving! May your turkey be juicy and your potatoes not lumpy!

Did you notice anything new here on my blog?? How do you like my new header and buttons? The amazing Justin Krieger of jkcardsonline.com created all my new elements!! Didn’t he do a fabulous job? I feel like such a grown up! The owls were cute, but I’ve had them for over 6 years now, time for a blog and Facebook make-over. I have matching business cards and return address labels now too. I’d love to know what you think!

Last, but not least, I wanted to share some photos of my 2nd (Annual) Creative Christmas Retreat! I started this event last year, I wanted a way to include everyone on my team at an all day crafting event. They couldn’t all attend, so I invited some special friends to fill up the room. I’m thankful to have been able to have this event at the Clifton Park Elks again this year, and Mike Bloss outdid himself with delicious spread for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Friends brought some yummy snacks to share as well!

I found this terrific game online and thought this would be perfect for the ladies to play throughout the day and earn some raffle tickets!

This area is the lending library, I brought dozens of my stamps, punches, dies, big shots, and paper cutters.

This ballroom is huge, and provided us with ample space for crafting all day!

You can see Kathy and Amye hard at work helping me to set up each spot.

My fabulous helpers Kathy, Amye, and Patty helped me set the room up so everyone had a nice work area and their Stampin’ Up! products and gifts were waiting for them at their spot. Everyone received this canvas zippered tote bag, ceramic mug, Let it Snow embellishment kit, Jingle Bells, Snowflake Sequins, and Snowfall Accents Puff Paint! Then the items inside the snowman gift bag were all the pre-cut paper supplies they used to assemble my 8 Make and Take projects! The hot cocoa here was for one of the M&Ts.

we had this cute little hot cocoa station and the girls were able to use their own mug that was part of their gift.

Could you guess what my theme was? Let it snow… How cute is this little snowman sign?

I feel so blessed that my team and friends from near and far were able to come together for this day. My friend Jacki came all the way from New Hampshire! And Nancy, Addie and Susan are my bingo regulars, so happy they could join us!

Nellie came all the way from Saugerties! Sue and Theresa came from Queensbury! And Amye didn’t have far to travel, but she came early and stayed late to help me with set up and clean up! Thanks friend!

Three of these ladies (Lisa, Jess and Nicole) came from Johnstown. I’m so touched that so many traveled a great distance to come to this event! Look at those sharp Ott lights Cindy and Sheila brought, cool right?

Laurie came over last week to help me punch and die cut almost everything we needed for all the M&Ts. Patty also helped with set up and clean up. Thanks friends. Molly and Jill made some gorgeous cards!

Pam and Elizabeth came from the North Country and they joined Annette, Mandy and Linda at this table.

MaryBeth helped me out by cutting out all the candy canes we needed for a M&T, thanks MB! Kathy is always there for me, every event, she is my right arm and such a treasured friend, thanks Kath!  Gail and Tiffany joined them here.

Last but not least, these four friends joined us for the first time, many thanks Barb, Chelsea, Jen and Bobbi for attending!

Altogether we had 30 people come to stamp for the day, I did have two who weren’t able to make it and I’m still working on their projects for them… hopefully I’ll get a chance to finish them this weekend.

I used all the hostess rewards from placing all the retreat orders and got 5 raffle bundles and they were able to put their tickets in whatever bag they wanted.

My friend Amye made these cute mugs, can you see what it says? “Sip, stamp, repeat”. She used her cricket and vinyl to make these. Thank you so much for donating two of your mugs to the raffle!

Ready to see the projects everyone made?

The gold pizza Box featuring Perfectly Plaid bundle, this can hold a small gift, jewelry, candy or even a gift card.

Some delicious Ghirardelli Hot Cocoa and stick candy canes.

Some cool mint tic-tacs

This beautiful ice skate card could easily be turned into a gift card holder as well.

This little snow globe shaker card was the only die cutting the ladies needed to get up to cut on their own… The Night Before Christmas Memories and More card pack with envelopes was the base of the card.

The mini curvy keepsakes dies are amazing, I saw this cute snowman on Pinterest and couldn’t believe how easy it was to make!

The copper tea tins hold more than tea- you can fit some homemade chex mix, fudge, cookies, hot cocoa, tea bags, or even a gift card in here!

Last but not least, this little pillow box was a breeze to put together, the heart is from the dog punch, and then the Christmas cups of cheer dies made the perfect snowman cup. This held some marshmellows and could fit another gift card.

Next time I’ll share all the winners of the prizes and the gifts I gave everyone throughout the day, I’ve got to run and get some of my Thanksgiving meal prep going here.

Thank you for visiting my blog today! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Love,
Lynn

Bingo Fun and Give-Away!

Hi everyone, how are you? I was teased last night at my monthly bingo night that I never post the pictures of this fun event. So I wanted to create a post for you to show you the projects that we made, and the prizes that were given away. Stampin’ bingo is a super fun event!

There is a lot of time, preparation, and set up that goes into my monthly bingo event. In order to fit 14 ladies comfortably I put one table in my living room and the rest fit at my dining room table. I sit in the archway between the two rooms as I call out the bingo.

My customers really enjoy this fun night out, and typically fill up the next month’s Bingo as I give them first dibs on the seats for the next month.

Here are the prizes that I purchased with their $20 registration fee that is paid in advance:

There are seven bundles valued between $30 – $40 sometimes one is even a little bit above that. We play six games of bingo and the winner of each round picks one of the prizes. Then the seventh bundle is for the raffle tickets, they earn a raffle ticket for attending, bringing a snack/beverage to share, placing an order with me that night, booking their own party/class, and if there is a bingo tie, the person who did not win the bingo/off as well as anyone who wins another game of bingo then they receive extra raffle tickets. Last night we had three games were there were ties so we had to have a playoff/bingo off. And we also had two duplicate winners. Hope that makes sense.

Here are the make and take projects that we did last night. I was so excited to show them these adorable little copper tea tins in the whole teatime suite.

The three little note cards also included the extra DSP, so everyone got six swatches of this beautiful paper. It may be hard to see but I also use the copper stickers and the colorful paper stickers from the memories and more collection. I also included three organic green tea bags. This is a perfect little gift or inspiration piece for your craft room.

One of the cards I featured was a slight case from one of our make and takes at Onstage. I wanted to feature the stained glass Vellum and the new blends. Unfortunately the new colors are not available yet but I was lucky to get pineapple punch and lovely lipstick Onstage. I took pictures of the ladies’ cards when they were finished, as everyone used different color schemes and there were two different square patterns in the pack … and as you can see no two cards are alike. Great job everyone!

Here are the winners of the six games of bingo. And the last bundle was drawn at the end of the night and this artistic expressions bundle is going out to Susan B. (Nancy said she is going to be in touch with you about getting this to you so you will have your prize.)

I forgot to take pictures of the food table, but once again these ladies did an amazing job of bringing some yummy snacks, a sign up in advance so that we don’t have duplicates. We had a veggie tray, fresh fruit, hummus and pita, cookies, delicious veggie pizza, amazing lemon blueberry cake, nuts, chips and salsa, chips and dip, popcorn, cheese and crackers, beer and wine. It was a smorgasbord.

I am so very thankful that these ladies love my monthly bingo event, thank you so much for your support!

Don’t forget that I am doing a comment contest, for everyone who leave me a comment on one of my blog post this month will be entered in a drawing to win this great little bundle of goodies. The gold ribbon and the metallic doilies are now retired. But the mini notecards are a new size in our catalog that you will enjoy. Just leave me a comment and be sure to include the hashtag #lynnzcrafters

Thank you so much for reading this post today I hope you have a wonderful day!

2018-19 Annual Catalog, blog hop, Bundles, card making, Framelits, Lynnzcrafters, rubber stamping, scrapbooking, Stampin Up, Stampin' Blends, Stampin' Up! Online Ordering Hostess Code, We Create Blog Hop

WCBH6 Masculine Blog Hop!

Hi Everyone and welcome to our June edition of the We Create Blog Hop, a monthly blog hop featuring all Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who love to share their handmade creations with all of you! If you just came from Jeanna’s site- thanks for popping by! Isn’t her work amazing??!!

Our theme this month is Masculine- and I’m sure you will find we have a wide variety of cards and projects just perfect for the guys in your life. My stamp set that I choose for our hop is a brand new one, we received it as a free gift for attending OnStage back in April and I just love playing with it. It’s called Animal Outings.  I decided to pair this month’s theme with a new fancy fold card I recently learned how to make, called “The Impossible Card” (because to the naked eye, it’s impossible to figure out how the center piece of card stock was created).

Today is the day our new 2018–19 Annual Catalog goes live, click the picture above and it will take you to the online version. (ordering online will be available at noon Mountain time, that is 2 PM here on the East Coast)

Ready to learn how to make this impossible card? Start with a piece of card stock that is 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ (here I used crumb cake):

Do you see on the photo above how it looks like a goal post?

you can make a small pencil mark 1/2″ from each end, and scored down 2 1/8″.

then from the 2 3/4″ mark on bottom length, score up to the 2 1/8″ mark. I think the photo helps more than anything.

then cut your three vertical lines (the goal post base and 2 ends) as shown above.

As you can see, when you cut on the score lines, the center panel will pop up. see photo above.

So here’s how it becomes an “impossible card”, just flip one of the side panels backwards! Tada! See that? Not so hard at all, really it’s a simple card that you can make look amazing with whatever stamps or embellishments you want to add.

Next is to cut some decorative designer series paper panels to spruce up the card. I went with something that was from the Share What You Love suite- this is the back of the blue floral paper.

I decided to trace my opening, and then trim down an 1/8″ so it becomes a perfect top layer on my two side panels.

The black strip is a stabilizer for the card, it is 1″ x 5 1/2″ long.

I decided to use the blends to color my giraffe and leaves and frog- this card would be so cute for a variety of occasions. the corner sentiment was from a stamp set I won during Prize Patrol at OnStage in April. Was happy to use it here.

Punched out some leaves in garden green to make it look like the jungle and added another piece in very vanilla over the top so I could stamp a name or personalized greeting.

This piece measure 3/4″ x 5 1/4″

Assemble and voila! What do you think of my Impossible Card?? I would love to hear your comments, scroll down below to see what my June Comment Contest Giveaway will be!

We Create Blog Hop October 2016

WCBH2016

Hello there crafty friends,

October 1st sure rolled around pretty quickly and snuck up on me. Today’s offering is a quick post, the format for this hop is usually one project and then a “stepped up” version of the same project. Forgive me, but with everything going on with my family- I decided to share with you my four Make-and-Take projects for my Stampin’ Up! Bingo night last night. I hope you like these offerings, and don’t mind that I didn’t stick to the formula this month. (Sometimes priorities conflict with my time to craft and blog).

So here you go:

It was s “Fall Theme” bingo night.

Basket of Wishes is a fun set to watercolor, and doesn’t it just pop on the shimmer white paper?

Cookie-cutter Halloween is one of my favorite stamp sets in this holiday catalog.

I pulled out the vintage leaves stamps at and matching framelits-it’s a great card for the fall, don’t you think?

I have to admit that I finished these cards on our retreat last weekend and I had some inspiration from another demonstrator -thanks to Debbie Henderson for the awesome inspiration! I love her work and style, and just tweaked two of her cards to fit into my plans for my bingo night.

Also, since today is October 1st, and the Official Celebration of “World Card Making Day”- Stampin’ Up! is kicking off this event with some specials:

Thank you all for visiting my blog today, thank you for your kind words and prayers for my family, we’ve certainly been challenged these past two months… we appreciate all the love and prayers.

The fundraiser that I started for my dear sister-in-law, Kathy Streifert, has just reached the half-way point. Kathy has had a 22 year battle with Crohn’s disease, and is out of work indefinitely. As a waitress in a local restaurant with no sick days, or paid time off, and astronomical hospital bills and deductibles, I started the “Go Fund Me” campaign. You can read about it, and/or donate here, thank you!

2016-17 Annual Catalog, blog hop, card making, Creative Circle Design Team, Framelits, Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Wedding Card

Creative Circle Blog Hop- Weddings!

Hello there crafty friends! Welcome to our August blog hop with the creative circle design team,  the theme for this month is weddings! I have a wedding card and a cute box (perfect for a shower or wedding favor).

First up is the full view of my card… I have just loved using the Floral Boutique Designer Series Paper, and it was a perfect backdrop for my little wedding dress and tuxedo.

First I made a whisper white Bloomin’ Heart and then used the second largest of the new layering oval framelits to create the base of the wedding dress. Then I hand cut away the sides to turn it into the dress!

I decided to just free cut some scrap basic black card stock (with the trimmer) and created a tuxedo that was the right proportion to match the dress. (I kept the spare pieces from cutting the “v” into the basic black, and turned them sideways to create the collar. I hand cut the little bow-tie also. Easy peasy with our wonderful paper snips!

The stamp set “Floral Phrases” is absolutely perfect for wedding cards- and I stamped this in Night of Navy ink, cut out nesting ovals with the smallest layering oval framelits.

Decorating the inside is a must when the card base is such a dark color…

This cute little favor was inspired by a swap I received from Carol Hickman, would this be perfect filled with candy, nuts, or small trinkets?  This features our new clear mini treat boxes.

All the supplies I used to make the card and favor box are listed below. Just click and it will take you to my online store.

Don’t forget that you can now use your Bonus Day Coupons you earned in July (there is a special spot to type in your code you received in an email).

Hooray for Halloween/Amazing Autumn Creative Inkling Blog Hop

creative hopHi there Stamping Friends!

September is a super busy month, but I love the cooler temperatures (not a fan of hot weather), and my trees have been dropping pretty red and orange leaves for a few weeks now. I love autumn and I love Halloween! What a terrific theme for our blog hop this month, I hope you like my offerings and please leave me a comment- I love to hear from you and welcome your comments!

First up is a set of cards that I made for Halloween. Originally this was going to be offered at our Fall Fest stamping get together in a few weeks, but we decided to do just generic autumn cards for that event.

So this adorable owl card was one of my September club cards. Some club ladies decided to put the magic wand in the owls hand, but I forgot to take a picture of anyone else’s card super cute though I love this new stamp set!

This next card is another adorable Halloween card that I may do for one of my stamping get-togethers with the senior citizens they mentioned that they would like a Halloween card next time we get together so I will be showing them this one.

Next up is a gorgeous wreath that I saw on display at convention this summer. One of the artisan design team members, Allison O. (from Canada),  her blog name is “nice people stamp”. I knew from the second I saw this wreath that I wanted to re-create it and when I told my downline about it and showed them photos I took -they wanted to do it at one of our team get-togethers. So this Tuesday night 10 of my downline will be coming over … they all bought their own grapevine wreaths, and we will be stamping, cutting, and hot gluing these little babies together. Wish us luck!

I could not really figure out how Allison had made the little pinecones out of paper and lucky for me here in upstate New York and the beginning stages of autumn- my pine trees have dropped a lot of pinecones so I picked over 100 pinecones up today so everyone should have enough to hot glue those onto their wreath, if they want.

Last but not least I wanted to show you the season to season wreath decorated for autumn. I had a small class Friday night and we made these up …boy are Stampin’ Up! kits just amazing?? there are so many extra parts that the possibilities are endless!

The other night Stampin’ Up! sponsored a new Occasions Catalog (and Sale-a-bration) Catalog Kick off Party again! Many of my team members and I went to Crossgates mall for the viewing. A bunch of us met for dinner first at The Standard, a yummy Italian restaurant (very Frank Sinatra-ish interior):

While I wish every single one of my Lynnzcrafters team could have attended too, it is such a busy time of year. Glad that Tiffany, Amye, Jamie, Tina and Molly were able to attend.

We had two demos join us as their uplines were not there, we had fun with Anne and Audrey!

Interestingly, Jamie won prize patrol (again!) so happy for her, and it is such a beautiful new stamp set!!

And here are the two new catalogs that will launch on January 6th, 2015… and this is an awesome new stamp set that we all went home with too!

dania xmas

Last night was our annual Christmas Party at my upline Dania’s house, look at this yummy Cranberry cocktail she made for us… it was delicious!

Dania had this amazing project for our Make-and-Take! She ordered some galvanized metal flashing so we turned these frames into magnetic boards. How cute??

Here’s Sheila, Tiffany and Judy with their boards.

Not sure why Dania is hiding, but here she is with Anne, Karyn and Amye making their memo boards. So fun!

A highlight of the party is our annual Christmas Grab Bag… there are a few rules: wrap a handmade gift valued around $10 in a plain brown bag. We draw numbers, and the person who has #1 opens the first gift, then person who has #2 can either steal the first gift, or open a new one. We have a “three steals and it is frozen” rule. Also “you can’t go home with your own gift rule”. This was an amazing year of awesome one-of-a-kind and spectacular gifts! They were all Steal-worthy!!

Here is the gift that I made:

plxmas2

It is a Project Life album, in the now sold-out Cherry Cobbler color. I heat embossed the snowflakes on the cover using whisper white embossing powder. I had an extra snowflake embellishment from my Many Merry Stars Kit, and I applied metallic silver ink to turn it silver. I used some other products to jazz it up, what do you think??

I also made a few inserts for one of the pages, just some quick and simple stamping on some 3″ x 4″ whisper white rectangles.

Be sure to come back and visit me tomorrow, to see the gift I came home with- it’s much more than one gift- it’s going to take about 20 photos to show you my gift, can’t wait to show you!
