HSS Sketch Challenge #206

Hi There Stampers!
Did you have a nice weekend, despite losing an hour of sleep? I did, lots of Stampin’ Up! fun here in Glenville, NY. Loved helping my newest recruit place her first order, she was so shocked that her $150 order earned her 30% discount since it was within her first 45 days, she also earned 3 free Sale-a-bration items, AND she earned $25 in free hostess rewards. We were both pretty happy about all she got!! There is time for you to earn these benefits too- I am having an Opportuni-TEA next Sunday March 15th from 3-5 pm. This is a chance to learn more about our $99 Starter Kit, and all the options you have if you consider joining this month! You can ask questions, and I have a little stamping planned, so if you’d like to come- please let me know the day before, by noon, so I can cut/prep for YOU! Hope you’ll come and will consider joining Lynnzcrafters! If you love stamping, crafting, and having fun- this is for YOU!

Now, on to one of my weekend projects. It has been forever since I played along with my favorite challenge Hand Stamped Sentiments. I received a custom order for some St. Patrick’s Day cards from a co-worker so I decided to combine the challenge from HSS and some St. Patrick’s Day cards. Here we go!

MARCH3

My first card with the HSS challenge 206 is this little shaker card. I found the mini shamrock confetti at a craft store and thought they would be perfect for some shaker cards. I love the little banners in this sketch, I took a small liberty tweaking it a tad, what do you think? In trying to find real St. Patrick’s Day green, I decided to use some gingham garden retired designer series paper.

This is the original design sketch. Simple and cute, right?

MARCH2

This card takes the sketch and turns it on it’s side. What do you think? Recognize this green? It is Gumball Green- I was so happy to still have a whole pack of this bright green. I was sad when it retired last year, I really love this shade of green. The image was a $0.95 download from My Digital Studio! I love being able to get digital downloads on my computer within seconds. This one is called “Go Green”. Love it.

Here are the supplies I used for this card that are available in my online store:

Be sure to come back on March 17th to see all 10 St. Patrick’s Day cards I made this year! Have a great night!
Thanks for stopping by to read my blog!

MDS to the Rescue- quick TAGS!

Hi there Crafty Friends-

This post comes to you straight  from our Stampin’ Up! My Digital Studio blog created by the uber talented Heather Summers,  from the My Digital Studio Design Team:

MDS has got to be the best holiday saver around (and time saver)! I LOVE how easy it is to create adorable projects and to then hit print for the number of items you need! This year create all your tags using the Color Me Christmas download. I love this stamp brush set and have been having a great time using the freeform tool to color in the images!  Create and print these tags at home from your printer. You will be SO thrilled with them and love that by just adding a little bit of linen thread you still have an adorable, hybrid creation!

I was so super thrilled that my 2014 Annual Family Calendars arrived on Friday via UPS. I loved how they came out. I went with the 8 1/2 x 11″  format, which is a perfect size. I couldn’t wait until Christmas and when I had my family over last night for my brother and sister’s birthday dinner, I surprised them with the calendars. Happy to say everyone loved them, and commented how much they missed them last year. *Well for those of you who don’t know- 2012 was a tough year for me medically speaking, I had several surgeries, one at Thanksgiving time, which put me very behind for the holidays. I just never caught up and once it was the end of January I just decided to skip the homemade annual calendars. Well, never again!

Don’t forget today at midnight is the deadline to get any of these weekly deals:

I’ll post some pictures of what I came up with another time. Just wanted to get these quick tag ideas to you- and let you know I’m going to be busy these next few days, and wanted to wish you a Very Merry Christmas!

Thanks so much for all your support, for your lovely comments, and for taking the time to read my blog.

Fondly,
Lynn

Halloween, My Digital Studio- MDS

BOO Banner and Halloween Class

Hi there stamping friends!
I wanted to share with you the Halloween projects I came up with to go along with the BOO banner for my Halloween Class last night:

I made the little muslin bag by using our software called My Digital Studio (or MDS for short), and using the new coloring feature, I changed the color of each word. The key is to remember to change it to a mirror image, and I copied it 9 times on my 8×10″ page, then printed on iron-on transfer paper. I used my dry, hot iron and this bag was done in 2 minutes! I made the tag in MDS also, as I didn’t buy the Halloween Bash stamp set, I thought I would get a lot of use out so this set in its digital form. I cased this idea from a concept artist at Stampin’ Up! Named Christine.

I was inspired by Lorri H., a demo, for the Halloween Greetings card and our new orange glitter, I added another pendant and the black pearls to my version.

The candy corn treat was on Pinterest and was cited as an Artisan award winner, but I haven’t been able to find out which one.

The extended swing card with the Halloween DSP for the dress was my own design.

I’m sorry I forgot to take photos of all the action! I need to put a reminder on my phone or something! I think all the ladies had fun!

So what do you think? What is your favorite from this Halloween class? Thanks for stopping by my blog! Have a great day!

Baby Onesie with Stampin’ Up!’s MDS

image

Hi there everyone! I’m sorry I didn’t post yesterday, long story… But I’m here today to share a cute idea I found on our Stampin’ Up! Blog…. The baby onesies with the months has been all over the Internet… Well, think about using My Digital Studio, or MDS for short, to create your customized clothing needs… Baby onesies, family reunion t-shirts, large group outings (classroom field trips), etc. Just use the iron on transfers from the office supply stores, and you’ll be all set. Here is some more information:
Customized clothing idea!

Let me know if you try this! I will post some photos when I make some clothing. Stay tuned!
Back to the craft room, I have some more things to prepare for our Big Spring Boutique tomorrow in Lake Luzerne, there’s going to be a good size crowd, hope to see you there!
Happy stamping!

My Digital Studio- newest downloads

MDSHi there stamping friends! I had a couple of questions from my post yesterday (about the online class- I said you don’t need My Digital Studio to download that), so I thought it was time to do a post just about our software program, read on. (there is a free download at the end of this post).

Have you tried or wondered about our wonderful digital software product called MDS (for My Digital Studio)? I have been using this amazing software for over 4 years now, and I have to say it is truly the BEST product out there for creating custom Scrapbooks (we have lots of different sizes/styles), swatchbooks, recipe books (have you ever wanted to create an Heirloom Family Recipe book??? I’m thinking of organizing one with treasured family recipes.

Before I was a demonstrator, I used to use other products and made MANY digital scrapbooks. I have even used some of the cheap online scrapbooks that are always on sale. Well you get what you pay for…. I’m not going to mention any of their names, because I don’t want to be negative, but what I can say, is from the very first album I made with Stampin’ Up!’s MDS, I fell in LOVE!!  All the Stampin’ Up coordinating colors, stamps, papers, dies, punches, embellishments…. oh my goodness, it is so fun. Both of my nieces have made their own scrapbooks (with very LITTLE help from me), Jordan (she was 15 years old when she made her book) made a 12x 12 book for herself, and my niece Claire – she was 7 years old when she  made a 8 1/2 x 11″ book for her Mom (my sister) for Mother’s Day last year. My nephew’s Blake and Ethan (they were five and four years old respectively, when they first used MDS) have helped make books too, and they all love to help create our annual family calendar. What an awesome gift to give your family members, you can personalize the dates and input all your family’s important dates. Last year I even put a little photo of the birthday person on their calendar square. (I’ll try to upload a photo of the calendar so you can see what I mean). Kids are so computer savy these days, and not afraid to create at all.

You can use MDS to make party favors, invitation, party decorations, flyers, notebooks, newsletters, recipes, advertisements, signs, bulletin boards, sign up sheets, do you need custom fancy signs for any purpose? You can make it in MDS. The best part is, we have a free website at My Digital Studio website and you can watch tutorials on You Tube (be sure you watch the ones made by Stampin’ Up and they are all marked “stampinvideo” and they have a channel you can subscribe to, and learn so much!

Here is a little intro video that shows you how simple it is to use MDS to create some fun party decorations:

And if you want to learn how to print your MDS products from home, here is a handy quick video made by Stampin’ Up!

Every Tuesday Stampin’ Up releases all the newest digital downloads which can be purchased and added to your MDS product on your computer. Here is this week’s listing and new options- NOTE there is a free download this week, that cute little construction cone,  whether you order the whole party kit or not, you can have the free download anyway!
