Holiday Carry-Over List is Here….

Hi there stamping friends! How are you doing? Did you get your Christmas and Holiday cards done in time? I think I just made it. Have been skimping on sleep again the past few days, I vow every year to start cards earlier but I never seem to do it. I think I’m going to do a dozen cards a month starting in January- what do you think of that idea? Who’s with me??

Speaking of holiday cards, you might not realize that we are down to just the last few days of our current Holiday 2013 mini catalog. It expires on January 2, 2014. I’m thrilled to say that Stampin’ Up! has created this “Carry-Over” PDF file for you to print and save. (I like to keep mine right in with my current specials/promotions ring). I’m so thrilled to see the Joyful Christmas top the list. It is by far one of my most favorite stamp sets in the whole catalog. I might actually make it for some winter birthdays as well, since the poinsettia is a winter flower, not just a Christmas icon, what do you think?

Holiday Carry Over List

So what is not carrying over? everything not on this list, and items that didn’t make it in the Occasions 2014 Catalog that launches on January 3rd, 2014. (We do know that the burlap ribbon and silver ribbon trim, along with the metallic gold and silver ink pads are carrying over). So, if you loved some other set, (like the adorable “Snow Day” where you can build your own snowman)- now is a great time to order it- think of it as a gift to yourself! Or contact me after Christmas and let me know if you need anything before it’s gone. Here are my three favorite cards I made with the Snow Day stamp set. Recognize the third one? It was featured at my Columbus Day Stamp a Stack event.

I’m equally sad that Calm Christmas is not on this carry over list-I just love that dove and “Peace on Earth” sentiment, I used that a lot in my workshops and card events this fall, here are just a few of my favorites.

Well, I better get back to work- I’m grading final exams- I can’t believe grades are due by Monday 12/23… and I had a big group of 30 students this semester. I can’t believe how quick this semester went!

Good Morning Stamping Friends!

Are you preparing to hunker down for the “big storm”? I know I am. In pajamas, tea, and lots of stamping to do this weekend. I hope to finish my annual family calendar in MDS. So far only have 3 months done, hope I can really polish that up- it is a gift that my family requests from me every year. I love making it.

I also PLAN to make my Christmas cards, fingers crossed that I can pull it all off.

This blog that you are reading is my 200th blog post I have written since I launched this site… wow, 200 blog posts! Thank you all for your encouragement, posts, comments, replies and support!

Hi There Stamping Friends!

Have you noticed that my blog posts are not coming as often as they once were?? I’m sorry about that- here’s a nice long post so you can catch up on some creations and projects I’ve been working on.

First of all, so proud of our Girl Scout troop #2637, on Veteran’s Day the girls made over 50 Thanksgiving cards for the annual Equinox Thanksgiving Meals delivery program. They did such an awesome job, and I was thrilled that they wanted to continue in that generous spirit and last night they came over to my house again and we made over 100 Christmas cards for the “Holidays for Heroes” program sponsored by the Red Cross. The girls quickly decided they’d have more time to create cards if they didn’t have to slow down to write on the inside of each card, so they dictated to me a little saying that we all agreed on, and I printed on the computer.

There was plenty of giggling, stamping, punching and getting to know our 2 newest members of our troop. The girls learned more about what “deployment” means, and we talked about one of the rules for card making “no glitter”… when I asked the girls if they knew why that was a rule one of them raised their hand and said “so the enemy doesn’t find them and kill them”. Of course she was right, but I didn’t think a 3rd grader would know all that. Anyway- they surprised and impressed me, and were so grateful and kind and sweet, my heart just melted watching them having such a good time. Here’s a couple pictures of the girls in action:

This one is so special, one girl wrote “thank you” inside each star…

And here they are, all 114 cards in all… notice anything special? One girl took great pride in organizing the completed cards into color families- I was impressed… might have to hire her to help me clean and organize my craft room.

There is so much more I could say about last night, it was one of those nights that you’re just so blessed and thankful to have such wonderful children in your life. If you’re reading this Patty- thank you for asking me to help you this year with the troop, I am loving every minute of being your co-leader and looking forward to making more memories and doing important service project with our girls.

Today has been a super fun kind of day, I had 2 events today- my Christmas Banner class was this morning and each person signed up for either “JOY” in silver/blue or “MERRY” in red/green.

How many people does it take to make one rosette???? 3 apparently. Too funny, and some nice tips and tricks to get these together.

I didn’t get to take a picture of each person’s banner because I had to run downstairs and pull apart the pork shoulder I had been cooking in my crock-pot. I invited these ladies, and my team for lunch as I knew I wouldn’t have much time between banner class this morning and my team get together this afternoon.

Thanks to Jamie’s wonderful recipe (same one we made on our girls weekend get away up to Lake Luzerne last month) we enjoyed a delicious meal together:

Then we moved into more stamping fun, and created some beautiful framed art…I came up with the red (actually Cherry Cobbler) version as an alternate as some don’t decorate their home in blue/silver:

What one do you like better? Either of these creations could be mounted inside either 8×8, 8×10 or 12×12 shadow box frame. I did one in each size to show the options, and I helped a couple who brought their frames with them today. This is a preview of the framed art class that I am doing Tuesday night… it was supposed to be our final class at the Elks for the Christmas series we put together, but we didn’t get enough people to sign up in time to use that big room. Luckily, I have 8 people coming on Tuesday, and they will get to choose which one they want to make. To make my life even easier, Amye wanted to make both framed art pieces, so I am going to offer it to my club ladies for our December club projects. What a way to wrap up my clubs for 2013, right? Hope they all decide to re-up for our next term January-June. I’m working on the calendar for that this weekend too.

Stamping Frenzy…

Hi there friends!

Im sorry I haven’t posted much lately on my blog…. (I have been popping things on my Facebook Lynnzcrafters page if you’re worried about missing anything, be sure to “like” that page). Well the reason why is my calendar is bursting at the seams with the Book-a-thon results, lots of card and tag parties, and a big vendor fair I participated in yesterday.

This is me with my booth all set up. We were in the Atrium (where I go stamping with seniors every month). It warmed my heart that so many of my family and friends came out to shop! There were actually 20 vendors there, a wide selection of goods. A shout out to my wonderful sister Sue and niece Claire who brought me lunch (I don’t even think to pack a lunch), and watched my booth so I could use the ladies room.

These mini coffee cups were a huge hit! I put a Starbucks brand K-cup (for the Keurig machine) or people could swap out the coffee for Hershey kisses.

More goodies, I put individually wrapped mints inside the reindeer tins.

I made 40 of these mini magnets, stamped on our whisper white paper, punched out with 1″ circle punch, then used crystal effects to adhere to the flat bottom glass rocks. Hot glued the magnet on the back.

These post-it notes holders were very popular. I stayed away from decorating them with Christmas papers so people could keep them out year round.

All my Christmas gift card holders sold quickly. This one was everyone’s favorite.

Wanted to show you how I wrapped up hostess gifts for Sheila, who had her fun tag party Friday night!

I am participating in a Bookathon today with Stampin’ Up! and in order to earn the prize, I need at least 3 parties scheduled before Dec 31st. Who can I count on to help me out here? TGIF… Lynnzcrafters Team Stamping

Wow, this was quite a week, wasn’t it? i love my weekends, so much more time for stamping and creating… I prepared a couple fun cards for my team get together tonight, here they are, what do you think?

I wanted to feature new products, so we are using the new circle and label thin lists to be able to make these cute “swing” cards, it’s so easy! The little leaf file folder card I learned how to make while watching a you tube video from another demonstrator named Patty Bennett. Wouldn’t this be a great card for a secretary or co-worker? It was so easy with our new envelope punch board and stamping trimmer.

Spoiler alert, the little Halloween card featured here is also a card my club girls will make too (in addition to the fall banner I showed you he other day).

Christmas Stamp a Stack- Deadline is Almost Here!

Hi there Stampers,
There is a lot of work that goes into our Stamp Camps that we offer at the Clifton Park Elks Lodge in Ballston Lake. We purchase stamp sets and supplies and prepare our samples weeks in advance (these cards we made in early August)…. We set our price to include a room rental fee, door prizes and Grand Raffle Basket, plus the card stock, ribbons, embellishments, envelopes, and supplies (like grid paper).

It can be tempting to wait until the last minute to register for our events, but what you should know is we do have a minimum number of stampers we need at each stamp camp. Would you please help me out by passing on our stamp camp info to others who love to stamp? We welcome children ages 8 and older, if they are interested in crafting and can follow directions. (We have enjoyed many mature young ladies who have done most of the stamping/card making, with just a little help needed).

How much would you spend for a night out with friends? We priced stamp camps this fall at $25 each (there is a discount of $10 if you register for all three stamp camps at once by September 15th).

You will not be disappointed! In addition to making 2 each of these 4 one-of-a-kind, precious Christmas cards shown at the top of this post, but you will also receive from me a very special thank you gift for attending this event:

Washi Wednesday- Halloween Style

this is going to be a super quick post- I haven’t been feeling that well (allergies are kicking me down) the past couple days. Hoping allergy meds kick in soon!

I didn’t want to wait to share my Washi Tape Halloween projects with you!

This is a quick and simple card that you can make in under 5 minutes!

Can you spot the Washi tape? I used it to hang the “trick or treat” insert on my Halloween “BOO” banner. Can you see the embossed black hats?
