Hi there Stamping friends!

I wanted to let you know about Stampin’ Up!s new Online Class. I purchased it and downloaded it the other day. Wow, what an amazing value!

“The Basics” class download (item 133385 ), our first-ever class available as a Stampin’ Up! product was unveiled last week. This class offers clever tips and techniques to get the most out of your stamping supplies and is an exceptional resource to for new or advanced stampers. Divided into six PDF documents, this class includes written instructions, step out photos, a few videos, and supply lists for 34 projects. The following topics are covered in the class: Basic Stamping, Embossing, Masking, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Watercoloring & Markers, and Big Shot & Punch Basics. You can order this from my online store here.

These are downloadable zip files.  You DO NOT need My Digital Stuido to take advantage of this class!  After purchasing and downloading the class, open “Stampin’ Class–The Basics” folder and there will be 6 individual “sessions” folders inside.  Click on each folder or topic and enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Who is the target audience for this class? A: Any stamper would love it! The projects range from simple to stepped up. A new stamper could learn a lot from the class, and there are more advanced techniques that even experienced stampers will be excited to learn.

Q: Why would someone pay for our Online Class when there are so many technique videos available for free on websites such as YouTube? A: This online class is much more than a card idea or a technique video. The 34 projects are simple, creative, and cute! The material included is a great resource that gives comprehensive project details in one place. No searching all over the Internet for all of the different topics being covered. This class is being offered as a product (item 133385, price is $14.95) that is an excellent resource. It is an exceptional value and gives customers an opportunity to be creative-and they can participate at their own pace. Simply print or view from your computer.

Q: Are supplies included or purchased separately? A: Supplies are not included. Supply lists are included on the PDFs with each project. Since this class is a download, there are no shipping costs associated with this purchase. However, if other Stampin’ Up! products are added to the order, shipping costs will be incurred.

Q: How will the customer “receive” the class? Is it mailed to them? A: Once the class is purchased, they will log into their online account and access the download the same way they would when ordering a digital download for My Digital Studio (MDS). The difference is that the file will be a PDF and will open in their default PDF reader rather than MDS.

PC Instructions The files will be downloaded as archive files that you can then extract and save on your computer. When you click on the download link, an extraction program will automatically launch. Choose the location where you would like to save the files (be sure to note where you save them). Follow the prompts on the extraction program, then navigate to the location where you saved the files. Click on the file and open.

Mac Instructions When you click on the download link, the file will be mounted as a drive. Once it is mounted, open the drive and drag and drop the files to the location of your choice on your hard drive. The files can then be opened. Q: Can a demonstrator purchase “The Basics” class and then give her participants/customers a copy of the instructions if the customer has not purchased the class? Are these copyrighted digital files? A: “The Basics” class is copyrighted. Only those who have paid for the class should have access to the printed or digital form of the files. We hope demonstrators see the value in this resource as a product, and see that it would actually be hurting their own potential sales to print out and give away copies. Q: Can this item be included in a Starter Kit? A: Yes, this would be an exceptional resource to go with a Starter Kit.

Q: Is this class available in French or Spanish? A: This class is only available in English.

Q: Will there be other classes besides “The Basics?” A: We hope to offer other classes, but we are not sure yet.

I will post some pictures once I make up more cards, on my “to-do” list (which seems to get longer every day- does that ever happen to you?).

Until tomorrow, happy stamping!

~Lynn
