Stampin Friends September Blog Hop!

Welcome to our September Blog Hop of the Stampin Friends group! I’m excited to be back with this talented group of ladies! And super huge thanks to our organizer, Elizabeth Thatcher, as we are bringing back prizes! For this month, the prize is this awesome Stampin’ Up! Hello Life Project Kit (retired). All you need to do to be entered to win this awesome prize is leave a comment on each of the blogs in this hop (click the names at the bottom of each post to go to the next person). You must add the phrase #SFbloghop2017 with your comment (tell us what you love about the project(s) and you’ll be entered to win!

Since I’m an owl fan, and I love Halloween, I wanted to show you my special project I did with my top 4 team members at our last “Way To Go!” Day (I reward the top four team members with a special meal, projects and goodies each quarter). Unfortunately two of them weren’t able to make it that night. They missed a yummy dinner of filet minion with the works!

This was a fun frame I found earlier this summer at The Christmas Tree Store. I knew I would be able to use them so I bought 6 of them.

Here is a close up of the cute cat and pumpkins insert. I used our awesome new embossing paste for the background. ( just added lemon-lime twist reinker for some color)

And of course I had to feature the cute owl stamp with this set!

Then for a coordinating card I wanted to keep using the cool new spooky cat punch, this was a card I featured at Bingo last night and I cased from a wonderful demo name Angela (we were in a swap together).

Here’s the list of other hoppers- remember to go visit each one and leave a comment in order to be entered to win our give-away!

Hurricane Relief

Help Stampin Up Support the Red Cross in Hurricane Relief Efforts

I love this company and all it stands for, I know many of you have been directly affected by Harvey and many others are about to be affected by Irma.  Stampin’ Up! is matching donations made to the Red Cross through this link, doubling our efforts to make a difference. I have made a donation to the Red Cross to help aid, you can too.

From Stampin Up:
Along with many of you, we are watching with concern as stories unfold about the devastation left behind in Texas and Louisiana by Hurricane and Tropical Storm Harvey. Though no one knows how many lives have been affected, Harvey is said to be one of the worst natural disasters in U.S. history, and the damage caused by massive flooding will be felt for years to come. With you, we’re also trying to stay informed on the progress of Hurricane Irma; as we write this, Irma has not yet made landfall but is currently classified as a catastrophic Category 5 storm. It will almost certainly leave as much destruction in its wake as Hurricane Harvey and will affect the lives of tens of thousands of people.

As a Stampin’ Up! family, we invite you to help us give to those who are now (or will soon be) trying to rebuild their lives. From now until the end of October, Stampin’ Up! will match donations made to the American Red Cross, dollar-for-dollar, for up to $50,000. Please click here to donate.

The Stampin’ Up! community is already making a difference through ongoing hurricane relief efforts. Here are some ways people are raising money.

  • Demonstrators are donating a portion of their commissions.
  • Demonstrators are holding dedicated events, including retired product sales, where all proceeds are being donated to hurricane relief.
  • Customers are being invited to donate at events.
  • Demonstrators are selling unused cards or are mounting past swaps on card bases and selling them (in accordance with the Angel Policy) to raise hurricane relief funds.

If you’re a Stampin’ Up! customer and would like to help click here to donate to the American Red Cross.

Together, we can do incredible things! We hope you’ll join us . . . because we truly can make a difference.

Thank you, Please help spread the word.

Creative Circle Design Team 3D Piano

Hi Friends! Welcome to the next International Blog Hop of the Creative Circle Design Team. We are organized by the amazing Liz Holloway and this month she shared an amazing 3D Upright Piano Card Box pattern for our electronic e-cutter machines. I am just in awe of her ability to create these cut files for us. The piano was super fun to put together, and I can’t wait to see what everyone has come up with this month! If you arrived here to my page from Liz’s- thanks for stopping by and don’t forget to continue on the hop with the list at the bottom of this post.

This is my piano card with the hinged lid in the upright position- there are tiny magnets holding this in place. I pulled out my light up Christmas tree as I used the Merry Music Specialty Designer Series Paper for my front/side panels.

Here is a close up with some added trim to decorate the piano- I opened up the Boxwood Wreaths (2 of them) and applied the bow made from the new tinsel trim (mini tinsel trim combo pack comes with 2 rolls- one is red, the other is silver- love this stuff!)

This piano is actually a card holder! Look how cute it is with a holiday card tucked in there! This would make an awesome gift for a special piano teacher, music teacher, or special someone who loves music!

Thanks for stopping by my blog today- I do love to hear from you! If you scroll to the bottom you can click “Leave a response” and I will respond!
Have a great day!

UPDATE ON ALASKA:

I’m so very thankful for all who have been helping me with my quest, my mission, my GOAL of earning my first HUGE Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip- to Alaska! I am about $2000 away in my own sales, and when one of my wonderful downline promotes to Bronze Elite (she is about $300 away from her promotion- which will then give me 7,500 flex points towards this trip).  I am so very hopeful that both of these situations occur this month, before time runs out. If you would like to help- please let me know. Thanks!

We Create Blog Hop September!

Hi Friends!  Did you just hop on over from the amazing Jeanna’s blog?? I just adore her work! Happy September 1st! I do NOT know where the summer went, it just flew by, didn’t it? I’m hoping the weathermen are right that we are going to have a warm September and October! Did you know that TODAY is the first day of the new 2017 Holiday Catalog, and OMG- it is just fabulous! Here is a link to the catalog online (just click the photo of the catalog below) and/or if you need a catalog and don’t already have a demonstrator, then message me your address and I’ll be happy to mail you one!

This is a monthly blog hop of Stampin’ Up! demonstrators who create one project and then “Step it up” to show you how some slight changes in product and placement can make a big difference! Sometimes I do this with my clubs and classes- it is a terrific way to showcase new embellishments and products!

My cards today are made with the new gorgeous bundle called “Snowflake Sentiments” (item #146053 for clear mount; or item #146052 for wood mount, found on page 35 of the Holiday Catalog). The sentiments are so sweet, on the inside I stamped the greeting: “Wishing you a season of joy, a season of cheer, but most of all- a wonderful year”. (I forgot to take a picture).  The dies are amazing, and love how the the little holes pop out of the snowflake outline die. So sweet.

For my second card, the “stepped up version” I used the silver foil paper to cut the intricate snowflakes out. I love how sparkly this card is, so fun to make!

$1,000 What?

Hi there friends, thanks so much for stopping by today! As I mentioned in yesterday’s post, I am very close to earning the next Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip to Alaska! I have until September 30th to earn about 30,000 more flex points. I’m confident I can do it- with your help that is! (I have reached the “accelerator” which means I earn 5 points for each dollar of sales and I’m trying to help two of my downline to promote to the next title which would mean bonus points for me too).

Let me tell you a little bit about why I want to earn this trip…. First of all, I was born in Tacoma, Washington when my dad was stationed in the Army, (didn’t know I’m an Army brat, did you?). My parents talked about how beautiful the great North West and Washington state was from their travels. We all dreamed of some day going together to go back to Washington and later in life we added Alaska to our bucket list. Last August when we found out the destination, I was excited to tell my sweet mother. We had recently found out that she had lung cancer and wouldn’t have much more time with us. When I asked her who I should take with me if I earned the trip, she told me to bring my brother, Scott, as he would likely never get there any other way. Scott is an avid outdoors guy- hunting, fishing, forging, enjoys all things nature. He just had spinal surgery last month and is out of work recovering. I would love nothing more than to tell him that I’ve earned this trip and he’s my special guest!  Well, as you know my mom sadly passed away in November and then I switched jobs in February and really have not had as much time as I would like to spend on my Stampin’ Up! business. Lots of other curve balls and health issues and I had almost given up hope that I would earn this trip. But the seed of faith and hope was still there, and then my best friend reminded me “Never give up on your dreams”. So, I’m not throwing in the towel, I’m going to sprint towards the finish line, and hopefully with your help, I’ll earn it. I plan to travel a day early so I can go to my birthplace, and I even plan to bring my mom’s ashes with me. Who knows, maybe I’ll add on some other family members and we’ll make this a great family vacation! Positive thinking!

I have several events planned for August and September and I’m really excited to see if we can do this together!

First, an idea that many other demonstrators have tried, and now I am going to give it a whirl as well. It’s called Lynn’s $1,000 Book Party Event!  No one has to clean their house, bake brownies, send the kids off on a play date, or ask their friends to come over- (that all sounds perfect, right?) Here’s all you need to do if you want to participate:

  1. Email me at Lstreifert@nycap.rr.com by August 15th that you want to participate- you need an order of at least $100 before tax and shipping. I will need at least 10 people to sign up in order to give away the prizes listed below. All 10 orders will be combined into one big $1000 workshop, and all the hostess rewards will be dispersed between the 10 participants.
  2. Turn in your $100 order by August 20th to me (do NOT enter your order online– I must enter it in order to count for this special). You can give me a credit card, cash or a check. I will give you your total with tax and shipping within 1 day of your email.
  3. Everyone that turns in at least a $100 order with me will receive a PRIZE. All the Hostess benefits that go with a $1000 party (and some of my commission) will be split between all the participants- everyone will get a wonderful prize.
  4. Participants will be put in a random drawing of the prizes and I will notify all participants on August 19th. I will need your prize orders (how you want to spend your free rewards) by 5 pm on August 20th. You can order hostess stamp sets on pages 220-223, or any current product in the catalog.  So start making your wish list!
    • 1 Person will get to choose $40 in FREE SU items of their choice
    • 3 people will get to each choose $30 in FREE SU items of their choice
    • 4 people will get to choose $20 in FREE SU items of their choice
    • 2 people will get to choose a catalog item for 50% off!

This is a perfect time to pick up some kits or planners for holiday gifts- get them now before we sell out!

As a BONUS thank you for the 10 who participate in my $1000 Book Party Event, you will receive an exclusive invitation to my house for a preview for my Private BOGO Sale on Friday night August 25th (I will contact you with the time and details if you earn this special spot). I will be having my own BOGO (Buy One Get One free) Sale on Saturday August 26th from 9 am to 3 pm. This is a great opportunity to come pick up your free Holiday Catalog, get a sneak peek of some of the awesome new Holiday products, and most importantly- a chance to buy any of my retired Stampin’ Up! products and earn equivalent new catalog merchandise for FREE! Everyone loves a good BOGO. (I am also planning one with my whole team on September 23rd, more to come on that one).

Let me know if you have any questions!

If you NOT able to participate in the $1000 Book Party, and you just want to order online, please use Hostess Code:  DM7VWPBK
