Hello everyone, and welcome to our March Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love to show you a simple project and then a “stepped up” version- it’s wonderful to get so many ideas and inspiration from this talented group!
First up is this sweet birthday card I made at a gathering of Stampin’ Up! demonstrator’s recently and this card was designed by the talented Jacqueline L. I love the watercolor wash on our watercolor paper that was with blushing bride ink. The three little succulents are die-cut from our new Oh So Succulent dies and the colors used are: blushing bride, pear pizzazz, and sweet sugarplum. The happy birthday greeting is from “rose wonder”. (also Gorgeous Grunge was used to add the little dots).
When I got home from the gathering I knew that this would be a perfect card to use for our blog hop- to show a “stepped up” version and show off our new glimmer paper. (this was a new addition to our Saleabration items that we launched on February 21). And this card I made especially for a dear friend’s birthday. I know she treasures hand-made cards. I did use the sweet sugarplum ribbon and stepped up the “happy birthday” greeting with the layering ovals dies.
What do you think? Do you like the dazzling dragonfly?
In case you missed it, here are the three new offerings for Saleabration:

Hi there stamping friends, how in the world did it get to be May 1? I surely don’t know, so this blog hop kind of snuck up on me… Hope you don’t mind that I am just going to share four cards I did this week at my Stamp a Stack class I had Monday night featuring some retiring stamps and products. (I have been pet sitting this week and not at home in my own craft room…. my apologies!)
First up is a card I came up with using the technique I saw at OnStage- this is a perfect technique to use up your designer series paper’s, don’t hoard them get using them! Use a 4″ x 4″ piece of DSP, and then slice it on the diagonal so you can pull apart the paper and have a 1 inch strip to stamp your sentiment within the white space. The DSP and the stamp (a single stamp called Blended Bloom) is also retiring. I colored the flower with my blender pens and blushing bride and daffodil delight ink. (the darker part of the petal was colored in with just the blushing bride marker).
I came up with this card to feature several retiring products: the Beautiful Bunch Stamp set, Fun Flower Punch, white jute ribbon and Decorative Dots textured impression embossing folder. I’m going to miss them all! This card was cased from a card I found from a goggle image search of the stamp set “Choose Happiness” made by Margaret Raburn. Love the card, thanks Margaret! This card features the retiring stamp set called “Serene Silhouettes”, the large oval punch and burlap ribbon is also retiring. Grab it before it’s all gone.
It was so great meeting you ladies at OnStage- Julie, Jeanna, and Cheryl (sorry we missed you Tanya!).
Well, I hope you forgive me for not following our normal formula (One card and then a stepped up version of the card). Thanks for understanding. Continue on the blog hop by clicking “next” to go see what Julie has for you this month… and be sure to leave us all a comment.
Please remember to use Host Code JVRKW2WV when you check out, this links it to my account. Let me know if you have any questions, I’m happy to help place an order for you!
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, and for your business! I appreciate each and every one of you!
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday! The Stampin’ Up! demonstrators in the “We Create Blog Hop” are back for another round of amazing inspiration for you all.. Bonus- today is the day the NEW 2016 Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration Catalogs both launch! How fun to create using all new products! Another perk of being a demonstrator- I’ve received my products in early December and made my December birthday cards with the all new adorable birthday suites. Want to see what I made for my nephew’s birthday on Sunday?
In this blog hop we do one project and then another version is “stepped up”, this time I started Blake’s birthday card and thought I was done, but realized the other day I could use this to showcase a “stepped up” version of a birthday card:
So I decided on the new jumbo pack of Designer Series Paper called “It’s My Party” (48 pages of 12″ x 12″) item #140552
I knew I was going to put 10 candles on his cake- so easy with the new mini punch trio called “Party Punch Pack” (YES- it’s a bundle with the stamp set I used!) I love that they have a balloon, cupcake and candle punch! To create the realistic candle- you know with a yellow flame- it is impossible to put these tiny pieces together with anything else… only the new Fine-tip glue pen did the job!
Here was my first version of Blake’s birthday card… This stamp set is called “Party Wishes” and is just fabulous! It is part of the new birthday suite called “It’s My Party!” and I LOVE how everything coordinates!!
I knew I could “Step it up” some more, so I went to work and added the number 10 from the new stamp set called “Number of Years” which is an awesome photopolymer stamp set- so easy to see through and stamp. Then it is die-cut with the new “Large Numbers Framelits” these dies are expected to be a huge seller- you might want to order these today before they go on back order- I guess Stampin’ Up! didn’t realize how popular they would be amongst demonstrators.
I also decided to “step it up” some more, and added a balloon from the new SaleABration set called Honeycomb Happiness. This is an adorable set- but the honeycombs are also expected to be backordered soon- so if you love it, hurry and order it today!
Since the honeycomb would become flattened inside an envelope, I decided to design a gift bag to hold his card and gift card together…. love the new “Hello” limited time SaleABration item (this stamp set is only available until February 15th, 2016).
I had to decorate the inside… love those balloons again! So what do you think? I hope you like it! Thank you so much for visiting my blog today, if you’re ready to hop over to Julie’s blog to see what she created, go ahead and click the “next” button below. If you need the supply list or a link to the catalogs, scroll down as I put all that info at the bottom of this post. Thanks so much, have an awesome day!

Hello there Stampin’ Friends, how are you?? I am so thrilled to be invited to participate in an awesome monthly blog hop with the “We Create Blog Hop” team! (pinch me, I must be dreaming!) I have admired these ladies work for some time, and on a whim I emailed one of them when I saw they were looking for some new demos to join the hop. Thank you Jeanna and Julie for this amazing opportunity!
So the way this blog hop works, is each month we’ll design a card using Stampin’ Up! products and then “step it up a notch” showcasing more advanced techniques and/or more products. Isn’t that a great idea? Well since today is the release of the brand new 2015 Holiday Catalog, I decided to show you a special card that I used for a both a swap I participated in by mail, and then I also used another version for my monthly Christmas Stamp-a-Stack last night.
So it started when I wanted to put the black cat on the new window framelit and thought about what would the inside wall look like to be looking outside at a cozy scene? That’s when I thought of an interior brick wall, and out came the new brick textured impression embossing folder. I then played around with both the chalker marker and the uniball white gel pen to see what look more realistic. what do you think? Soft suede ink was sponged on in a few places to give the bricks an aged look.
So here is the simple version of my card:
I love how the little village looks through the window, don’t you? The Home For Christmas Designer Series paper is a real wow! I love every piece in this collection and am going to stock up on this paper for all my Christmas cards and home decor, I love it!
But to create a “Stepped Up” version of this card, I decided to use some new Real Red Pom-Pom trim (I’m seriously in love with this stuff and think we should have it in EVERY color- who’s with me??) and the new Real Red 1/8″ stripped ribbon and our awesome gold sequin trim is stapled on to the little Note Tag punch. I think this tag “steps up” the card, don’t you?
So here are the swap cards before going out in the mail.
This was a little “teaser” I posted on my Facebook business page to get people excited about the new Holiday Catalog… it worked (I hope).
The funny thing was that I was pet sitting at my sister’s while I was creating these swaps and the cards for this blog hop, and I also made our new witches hat. Here’s a picture of that:
As you can see we love little black cats in our family. This is Louie, it took me a long time to get a nice picture of him next to the hat. (He’s not a cat you can just pick up and put where you want him, it took two hours of waiting for him to come up on the counter- oops… shouldn’t let the cat out of the bag that I encouraged him up there, don’t tell my sister- okay?? thanks!)
Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, are you ready to go visit Julie’s blog and see what she came up with? click the “Next blog” icon below: (I have more news below about new Holiday Catalog, clearance rack and Weekly deals, keep reading if you’re not ready to leave my page).
