Creative Inking- What Goes Around

Hello friends,

Welcome to the May Blog Hop of the Creative Inking Crew. We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from the US and Canada, and we bring you inspiration each month.

This month, our theme is “What Goes Around”, and I have decided to feature the cards from the new Eastern Palace Suite that Stampin’ Up! launched on May 1st for customers (demonstrators were able to pre-order it in April).  I advertised the special bundles at my stamp camp and to my customers last month and had a group jump at the chance to have this gorgeous bundle with FREE products as well! As a reward, for everyone who ordered this bundle from me by May 4th, I offered a special class on Wednesday night. Here are the cards we made and I’m throwing in some recent club cards I made so you can see that the possibilities are endless with this suite.

First up is a card featuring our new very vanilla note cards!

This card features our gorgeous Designer Series Paper (DSP) and right under the word “thank you” is one of the gorgeous new gold metallic stickers-yes, that’s right, I said stickers! They are so fun!

This card includes our fun new tassels, some gold foil specialty paper under the die-cut out shape, and more gold stickers! I love the new In-Colors included in this bundle, here on this card I’ve used Lemon Lime Twist with Fresh Fig.

This card was a “wow” card- with some “fussy cutting around the edges of the largest medallion gold sticker. This new color is called Tranquil Tide. A complimentary color to this suite is Dapper Denim from our returning In-Color collection.

Everyone loved making these cards, what do you think?

Let me also share with you two cards I featured at my clubs this month, this first one is my own design- featuring the new gorgeous In-Color Lemon Lime Twist! I LOVE it!!

This card was inspired by Patty Bennett- when I saw that she had created a sunflower card out of the Eastern Palace Suite, I wanted to see if any other demonstrators had done any sunflowers too. I found a simple card made by Julie D (the paper pixie) and I decided to CASE (copy and share everything) her design for my club members. They loved it and some of them even stepped it up and added some die cut words, and embellishments. (I wish I had thought to take photos of all of them- they were great!).

HERE’S MORE INFORMATION on the two bundles Stampin’ Up! released from the Eastern Palace suite for EARLY customer purchase – these offers are good only until May 31. Get these bundles now- before the products become available in the Stampin’ Up! Annual Catalog, (which begins June 1.) *Note that these items will not be offered as a bundle with free product after May 31st (everything will be available individually).

Don’t you just love the font? It’s gorgeous!

Here’s a FREE pdf to create three beautiful card ideas using the Eastern Palace Premier Bundle.

You can print a flyer here of what is included in the two bundles.

The starter bundle (147196, $60.50) includes FREE Very Vanilla Note Cards & Envelopes. (Does NOT include the Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies.)

The premier bundle (147207, $103.50) includes FREE Very Vanilla Medium Envelopes & NEW Very Vanilla Thick Card Stock (8.5 x 11). It does include the Eastern Medallions Thinlits Dies.

BOTH bundles include THREE of the NEW 2017-2019 In Color Ink Pads, Fresh Fig, Tranquil Tide and Lemon Lime Twist. These colors are so on trend right now!

Don’t these colors look gorgeous together?? I bet you can’t wait to get your hands on them! I was so thrilled to get them in April!

Stampin Friends Easter Blog Hop

Hi there Stampin Friends!! Welcome to the March Stampin Friends Blog Hop! This month our theme is “Easter”, I can’t wait to see what everyone has prepared for this month, this is a really talented group of stampers, don’t you agree? Also, I’d like to welcome our two guest hoppers this month Mandy Reedyk and Sue Vine! Can’t wait to see your creations ladies! Also, new this month, we are trying a new format for our hop. You will find a list of names all the way at the bottom of this post, and you just need to click a name and it will take you to that person’s post. Fingers crossed that I “did” the link correctly! Funny story, we created these blog posts several weeks ago to be ready for this new format, and my intro said “Hello friends, what a beautiful spring week we’ve had”… well the laugh is on me, we’ve just survived Winter Storm Stella- or the Snow Apocalypse of  2017. I live in Upstate New York and we clocked in with 22” here in Glenville! I feel very blessed to have had 2 snow days the past two days! (oh the joys of working for a school again! I missed snow days so much the last 11 years). And I’m also thankful for a garage to park my car and my dear dad who plowed me out (twice) and a wonderful neighbor who snow-blowed my driveway!! The poor road crews have been working non-stop to clear our roads and highways. Kudos guys!

First up is my trio of Easter projects that I created just for you!

This cute egg carton Easter treat holder was designed by a fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Peggi F., at our local Upstate Stampers get-together. She did such a great job with this design! I love the “polka dots” created with our reinkers, a little rubbing alcohol, and dabbed on with a q-tip! So sweet- thanks Peggi!!

.

This card I created especially for an Easter Card swap with Tami White. I made 8 of the same cards and mailed them off to her, and received 7 different ones back. (I’ll share those in a different post). Since I only needed to make 8, I decided to do a “more difficult” technique- so this is the side-step pop-up fancy fold card. I used mint macaron as the base and the in color’s DSP for the backgrounds. This new stamp set is called Easter Message (page 19 of the Occasions Catalog). I used our awesome watercolor pencils to color all the images.

I used our basic grey archival ink pad to stamp and watercolor on our watercolor paper and colored with aqua painters. The trick for me, is to color with a dull pencil, (not a sharp point). Also, I think the gold foil really works as the matte, it makes it pop, don’t you?

This card was a runner up for my Easter swap, but in the end it was far too complicated to make 8 of them. This pop and twist card is all the rage out there, but does take some time to cut and score all the elements. I used the Easter Message stamp set again, love it so much.

Here is the open view of the card, what do you think?

Funny story about this little Easter treat… I needed to come up with a shower favor and the theme was blue flowers in blue mason jars. So first I created the favor and then I realized it would easily convert to an Easter treat holder for my March club get-together, so I went shopping again for more of these little Lindt chocolate lambs (sorry if you live in Glenville, NY and you need some, I bought them all- and I wiped our Target and CVS.)

The little green base is a 2 3/4″ square (I used pear pizzazz here) and it is scored at the 2″ mark on all four sides. You cut four of the score lines to create tabs, so you can complete the little box. I stapled mine to hold it closed. Then glue on the jars and eggs, and embellish!

Well, that is it for today, I read all your comments, and I treasure each one. Would love to hear from you. If you have any questions about the supplies I used, let me know. They are all current Stampin’ Up! products found in the 2017 Occasions Catalog, Saleabration (glimmer paper) and Annual Catalog. I hope you have a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by. Now just click on a name and hop around to see the other 10 crafters blog hop posts for today!
