We Create Blog Hop- April 2016

WCBH2016

Hi there stamping friends! Welcome back to our monthly Step It Up Hop! We hope our hop style helps many different levels of stampers. Thank you for joining us this month. We hope you have a happy and creative one!! Can you believe it is April already, where did March go?? Last night was a flurry of activity getting in the last of our Sale-a-bration orders… what a great selection this year, don’t you think?

For April, since it is my favorite month of the whole year (it’s my birth-month and I’ve always enjoyed the change in weather, love SPRING!!), I decided to do several cards today featuring one of my favorite bundles from the Occasions 2016 Catalog. Can you guess which bundle?? It is the Rose Wonder Stamp Set with Rose Garden Thinlits Dies!! And you absolutely must have the awesome Big Shot Die Brush (to easily remove all the small cut pieces out of the rose and leaves).

I sadly am in need of many sympathy cards both to send and for my card racks and custom orders. Let me know which version you like the best.

First up, the simple card, with no embellishments, just used the cut out portion of the rose/leaf die as a stencil and sponged blackberry bliss and pear pizzazz ink on my plain whisper white cardstock. After I was done, I highlighted areas with the clear Wink of Stella glitter brush.

This version is plain and simple.

wecreatemarch2

Now to cut more rose/leaf combos, once in Blackberry Bliss card stock (I’m sure going to miss this color when it retires soon) and Pear Pizzazz. Cut leaves to piece together (like a little puzzle).

wecreatemarch3

Now to “Step it Up!” in the We Create Style!

wecreatemarch4

On this card, I added washi tape and ribbon to give it some more interest.

wecreatemarch5

Finally, had to add rhinestones- how do you like the big one in the middle?

There are hundreds of ways you can use this stamp set, it has been my “go-to” set this month for sympathy and thinking of you (and several birthday cards too).

SUPPLY LIST: (for all)

  • Stamp Sets: Rose Wonder (item#140697)
  • Ink Colors: Blackberry Bliss (#133642) and Pear Pizzazz (#131180)
  • Card Stock: Whisper White (#100730), Blackberry Bliss (#133675), and Pear Pizzazz (#131201)
  • Embellishments: Wink of Stella Glitter Brush, clear #141897, Washi (retired), Iced Rhinestones (#139637) and Rhinestone Basic Jeweks (#119246), and Pear Pizzazz Cotton Ribbon (#134562)
  • Big Shot Machine #113439, magnetic cutting pad #130658, precision base plate #139684, and big shot die brush set #140603

I would love to hear from you, what do you think of the Rose Wonder bundle? I’d also love to know what your favorite Sale-a-bration item was this year? Leave me a comment! thanks for visiting today, and Happy April!!

Ready to go see what Julie has in store for you?? ME too!

Creative Inking- March Hop!

creative hop

Hello stamping friends! Welcome to our March Creative Inking Blog Hop! The theme this month is #imbringingbirthdaysback (remember when I told you about the movement, the stamp, the mission?? (if not, click here to read the original post). I have to admit, I made a mistake by hitting publish (instead of “save”) back on March 12th- that was the day I was starting to put together the content for today’s post.  Once you publish a blog post, you can’t recall it (my only option was to edit or delete it) and I didn’t want to have to re-type that content again.  So now you already know about Shannon West’s creation and I can jump right into my birthday cards and projects for today!

IMG_1536

My three cards were inspired my the cute little 6″ x 6″ paper stack called “Have a Cuppa”, it coordinates with the new bundle “A Nice Cuppa” stamp set and “Cups and Kettles” framelits. I love the colors in this pad of paper: Basic Grey, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, and Whisper White. I started experimenting with the stamp set “Balloon Celebration” and the coordinating punch – the Balloon Bouquet Punch!

IMG_1537

I took a few hours to just play with the stamp set a few weeks ago, and played around with all the papers, all the stamps to come up with a coordinating set of cards that I could use for this blog post.

IMG_1538

Here’s a little secret- it took me about 6 tries before I got a card design I was happy with, here is a rejected card- see how the balloon strings don’t line up? I also didn’t like mixing the fine tip of the marker with the stamped image.

IMG_1539

Sometimes I play around and make lots of elements (ie: balloons) and then play around with various backgrounds until I’m happy with it. Here you can see the two-step stamped images with the large and small balloons from this bundle. Notice the watercolor wash background? That is pool party ink watercolored onto the shimmer white cardstock. I thought it would pop.

IMG_1540

I loved how this idea came out, notice the thin silver metallic thread? I started using it under the balloon punch-outs, then decided to use it for the balloon strings and bow, I really liked how this came out, what do you think?

IMG_1541

Decided to keep this first card CAS (clean and simple). Love the colors together, didn’t even use the DSP on this card!

IMG_1542

Here is my first card stamped with the #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp! Love it! Shout out to my downline Sharon, she stayed up until 2 am EST the day Stampin’ Up! launched the sale of this stamp, so she could order it for me, what a great friend! Thanks Sharon!

IMG_1545

Next up, this card uses the same Pool Party watercolor wash on shimmer white paper, but decided to try the bunch of balloons out of the DSP and stamped images. What do you think of the mixture?

IMG_1546

decided to stamp a sweet little balloon inside this card with the #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp.

IMG_1543

Last, but not least, tried the cloud stamps and added some bling with the bermuda bay sequin trim glued down strategically.

Black, White, & Whatever You Like, Stampin’ Friends Blog Hop

12495188_10153783583701101_8417573911987275800_n

Welcome to the Stampin Friends “Black and White and Whatever You Like” Blog Hop! If you arrived from Deana’s Blog, thank you for continuing with the hop! Don’t forget to click the Next Button below to check out Carolina’s  amazing creations. PLUS, keep reading for a chance to win a bunch of new crafty presents!

This month we are excited to have three Awesome Guest Hoppers that you should definitely check out:

1. Cindy Waldroff
2. Barbara Welch
3. Angela Carter

Ready to get started with my projects? The theme this month is “Black and White and Whatever You Like”…  there are so many awesome color schemes that coordinate nicely with black and white. I knew I wanted to use our brand new Sale-a-bration recent release of Pedal Pusher, and the last time I was on a bike was when I went to California in September on the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip and we rented beach cruisers to ride along the boardwalk. One of the bicycles was this dreamy mint macaron color, so that’s what I decided to go with for my “whatever I like” color.  Once I started this idea, I started noticing this color trio everywhere!

f_bella_w_7_mintgreen

So this was my inspiration for my card creation for the blog hop!

febbloghop

Luckily, as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I was able to pre-order the three new releases earlier this month, and had time to play with them all- and I just had to incorporate all three into this blog hop.

febbloghop2

I knew I wanted a pop of color, and our gorgeous washi tape did the trick!

febbloghop3

I knew I wanted it to be a birthday card, so the mini balloon punch and “It’s my party” enamel dots helped spruce it up.

febbloghop8

Then decided at the last minute to add some mini pearls too… what do you think?

Now to create a coordinating gift card holder…

febbloghop4

The new Metallics Glitter tape is a breeze to tear and use- no scissors needed! I love the shimmer and sparkle it adds to the mini treat bag holder.

febbloghop5

At first I planned to turn the bag on it’s side, but I didn’t really care for this orientation, so I turned it:

febbloghop6

Much better, don’t you think?

febbloghop6

Now for the inside- had to use the brand new set “Party Pants”… don’t you love that sentiment “put your party pants on”??? I love it!

Lots of Love! Stampin’ Friends Blog Hop!

12495188_10153783583701101_8417573911987275800_n

This month our theme is “Lots of Love!” Well, I don’t know about you, but that has me thinking of Valentine’s Day and sharing some hand-made cards and gifts with the ones I love. I hope you like my projects! Did you notice one of Stampin’ Up!’s newest stamp sets in the 2016 Occasions Catalog called “Beautiful Ride”? The second I saw this stamp set, I just knew I needed it, I had a total flashback to all the old Herbie movies by Disney. Remember watching “Wonderful World of Disney” on Sunday nights?

lovebug1

Of course one of my favorite “Herbie” movies was Herbie Fully Loaded, with Lindsay Lohan in 2005 (it feels like just last year- not 11 years ago I saw this with my niece).

43641_1199632684778_full

I have been a huge Disney fan all my life, and so are my nieces and nephews. So I thought they would love a Herbie valentine card and gift card holder.

IMG_0144

I used so many new Stampin’ Up! products for these two projects, there is a complete supply list of everything down at the bottom of the page.

IMG_0145

I used a retired stamp for the “happy valentine’s day” sentiment- remember “Good Greetings” from last year? Well, it was too big to fit in the washi label punch- so I “extended” it- by slipping in the paper you can trim the ends and get the same washi label look.

IMG_0146

Since Herbie the love bug was a pale yellow (remember “barely banana”? that would have been a perfect color to match the original Herbie).  I used So Saffron and fussy cut the car out. Colored the wheels in with my black stampin’ write marker. Notice the shimmer on the windows? That is my new favorite – the Wink of Stella glimmer pen (clear). I just love how instantly it makes everything sparkle- and NO DRYING time! Love IT!!

IMG_0147

When I got the card to this point I wondered how to enhance it- so I stepped it up a bit:

IMG_0148

What do you think of this version?

IMG_0149

Had to decorate the inside! love the stamps in the new “Going Global” stamp set! Perfect for Valentine’s day.

IMG_0150

Custom insert to hold a gift card, for inside the Mini Treat Bag.

IMG_0151

Well, that is my contribution to the January edition of the Stampin Friends Blog Hop. What do you think?
