Simply Sketched

What a Week!

Hi Friends!

Ever had one of those weeks where you don’t know how you made it through? Work, stress, stomach bug, projects galore, lots of stamping events this weekend so lots of prep…. well I didn’t let any of that halt my new healthy weight loss efforts… still walking every morning and eating lots of fruits and veggies (and NO sweets!) you heard me, no sweets. That is by far the hardest part of my 12 week weight loss program I am following, because my sweet tooth and I have been best friends for oh, 48 years I would say…. if you have any tried and true weight loss tips, good recipes or encouragement- feel free to leave me a comment- this blog doesn’t have to be just about stamping and crafting.

Tomorrow is our big kick off to the Holiday Catalog- we are having a Holiday Stamp Camp in Clifton Park. Just finished all my prep, cutting, scoring and bagging up all the pieces. Fun, fun. I will post photos tomorrow night of all those projects.

Then I have club on Saturday morning and Monday night, and I have a workshop on Saturday night. Off to finish prepping for it. What do you think of these two cards? I think the hostess, Patty, will like them- she asked for a watercolor technique, so I was playing around. This stamp set is a hostess set called “Simply Sketched”.

“Best of Greetings” is the June stamp set in the 25 Year Best of Stamp Sets

Best of 25 Years Stamps
As part of our 25-year anniversary celebration, we’re bringing back some of our favorite stamp images from the last quarter century and combining them into 12 sets, which will release-one set per month-during 2013. Even better, along with some great classic images, each “Best of” set will also include a never-before-seen image!

•All Best of stamp sets will include 3-5 images, including a never-before seen image, and will be priced at $14.95.
•While we are releasing just one Best of stamp set per month (with a new theme each month), all of the Best of sets will be available until March 31, 2014.
•All Best of stamp sets are available in Clear-Mount only.
While we are releasing just one Best of stamp set per month, all of the Best of sets will be available until March 31, 2014.

As a special incentive to collect the Best of stamps, we’re including a collector’s card and 25-year proof of purchase sticker with every Best of set. Collect six stickers, and send it in to redeem a FREE set of your choice valued up to $14.95! Free sets must be redeemed no later than April 30, 2014.

My June Clubs are all ready, I’m only going to show you 2 of the 4 projects I have planned, I’ll share the other 2 projects tomorrow night.

This card is made with one of our new Hostess Stamp Sets in our new 2013-14 Idea Book and Catalog (or “catty” for short). The set is called “Simply Sketched” and I was so thrilled to get a set to showcase some easy watercoloring techniques. This card went together in a flash! I’m going to demonstrate to the ladies in my club all the various ways to work with our new Simply Pressed Clay. It looks pretty just white- but I will be posting some of the amazing ways you can color it! Tune in tomorrow for all those details.

What do you think of my little Candy Container? Do you know what this is made out of?? IN the new catty there is a pack of designer series paper (we call it DSP for short) called “Quatrefancy Specialty Paper”. Inside are two sheets of our window sheets with this wonderful mosaic design printed on in whisper white. I cut the sheets down to 8 1/2 x 3 inches and rolled them to fit inside an empty button/brad container! Used glue dots to hold it together, added coordinating designer paper from the same package (punch lids with the 2 1/2 inch circle punch) and a 3/4 inch band around the lip. I used daffodil delight seam binding to tie it together, just have to remember to stop and buy some candy on my way home from work tomorrow.

The winner of my weekend contest (online sales, Stamp-a-Palooza customers and weekend orders) is Amye Spiers! You have won the Artsian Label Punch and gift certificate for $20 in SU product!

Well, that’s it for tonight. Hope you had a great weekend, didn’t it fly by? I am always amazed at how quickly the weekends seem to go, there just aren’t enough hours in them.
Have a great week,
Happy Stamping,
Lynn Streifert
