Wallet Type Gift Card Holder

Hello again Friends!

Hope you are doing well, here’s my third tutorial for gift cards in this series! Hope you are enjoying them. Let me know which is your favorite- there’s one more tomorrow!

Small Wallet Fold Gift Card Holder-Feels Like Frost (No Stamping):

  1. Cut balmy blue cardstock 8 ½” x 3 ½” and score at 2” and 6” along the long side. Round the corners.
  2. Cut DSP (Feels Like Frost used here):
    • 3 ¼” x 2 ¼” (front bottom piece)
    • 3 ¼” x 1 ¾”  (front top piece)
    • 3 ¼” x 3 ¾” (back)

3. Adhere all DSP to the cardstock. Punch notch with 1 ½” circle punch. Adhere two sides of the gift card pocket with tear and tape.

4. Cut coordinating piece of DSP for the focal point of the front and die cut scalloped circle whisper white and add adhesive to only the top half and adhere to the top of the front piece.

5. Remove silver loop from glitter star ornament. Tie bow with Metallic Mesh Ribbon. Carefully add to front with some glue dots- this is the clasp to hold the circle down when the gift card is closed.

Happy Hanukkah!

Hello Friends!

I wanted to share a special Hanukkah card that I created to be featured in a tutorial bundle with some of my crafty demonstrator friends! We have created this blog hop as well as a Hanukkah Tutorial bundle! I’ll be sharing it with all who order from me this month!

Here’s the details:

card base: Night of Navy cardstock cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″

Silver foil paper cut 5 1/4″ x 4″ (die cut the dove’s solid wings- one will be cut on the silver face up, one cut with silver face down to get this effect of two outstretched wings)

Feels Like Frost DSP is cut 5″ x 3 3/4″

Wrap Metallic Silver edged ribbon around the DSP/Foil that is adhered together, tie knot off to side as shown. then adhere to top of card base

Cut Dove body and wings out of whisper white cardstock, and adhere to the silver foil pieces and add to top of the card with dimensionals. Cut little sprig out of garden green cardstock.

Stamp “Happy Hanukkah” in Night of Navy ink, on whisper white cardstock, punch ends with Lovely Labels Pick a Punch (annual catalog) and adhere to card, over the ribbon, with dimensionals.

On the inside, stamp “Peace on Earth” on a piece of whisper white cut 5 1/4″ x 4″, add strip of DSP 5 1/4″ x 1″

Need a treat to go with that Hanukkah Card? This adorable acetate box is perfect for a homemade cookie, candy, gift card, money, or even some handmade cards!

The belly band is 3″ x 12″ wrapped around the acetate box. Add a silver foil label cut from celebrations label dies. Create a dove out of all whisper white cardstock and assemble as shown. Add greeting, sprig, pearls and add over the ribbon. What would you give as a Hanukkah gift?

Of course these projects can be modified for a winter birthday, thank you or Christmas gift/card as well. Just change out the sentiment if desired.

I am going to “try” to blog more often, I’ve missed writing and sharing here on this blog. It seems when life gets hectic, blogging falls down farther on my long “to do” list.

Let me know what you’d like to see me feature here.

Jumbo Gift Card Holder- Gnome for the Holidays

Hi Friends!

Today is Day 2 in my Gift Card Holder series. Today I am featuring the “Jumbo Gift Card Holder”…. you know how sometimes gift cards you purchase at the market come all packaged up inside sealed package? Well, those usually don’t fit in our traditional gift card holders unless you rip them out of their packaging. Well not anymore- here you go!

Jumbo Gift Card Holder-Gnome for the Holidays:

  1. Cut Balmy Blue cardstock base: 10 ¼” x 5 ½” and score at 1 ¾” and at 6” along the long side.
  2. Cut Snowflake Splendor DSP: 5 ¼” x 4” (front cover) and 5 ¼” x 1 ¾” coordinating piece for strip on top of previous piece. Cut the coordinating piece for inside: 5 ¼” x 1 ½” that is glued onto a piece of whisper white that is 4 ½” x 3”. Adhere all DSP to cardstock. Punch a half circle notch from inside the piece with 1 ½” circle punch, then adhere two sides with tear and tape.
  3. Cut medium celebration dies out of whisper white cardstock. Stamp gnome and tree on the shape. Color in with Blends: granny apple green, balmy blue, crumb cake, smoky slate, night of navy. Adhere to the top of the card front with dimensionals.
  4. Cut snowflakes from Balmy Blue glimmer paper and adhere
  5. Add 5 Iridescent pearls on snowflakes.
  6. Stamp greeting in pacific point ink on inside piece of whisper white.

What do you think? Do you love gnomes as much as me? You should see my Christmas decorations, so many cute gnomes have found their way to my house over the years.

Thanks for visiting me today!

Freezin’ Friends Gift Card Holder

Hello Friends!

I told you recently that I wanted to get back into posting on my blog, and here goes! I have several posts planned for this week. Today’s feature is a Side-Fold Gift Card Holder featuring Freezin’ Friends bundle (it is retiring from the August-December 2020 Holiday Mini Catalog).

Here are the directions on how to make this one:

Side Open Gift Card featuring Freezin’ Friends:

  1. Cut Pacific Point Cardstock 4 ¼” x 11”, score at 2 ½” and 5 ½”. Burnish. (do not adhere yet).
  2. Cut three pieces of DSP (Snowflake Splendor):   Front left cover: 2 ¾” x 4”; Inside left pocket: 2 ¼” x 4” (adhere and punch a half circle with the 1 ½” circle punch); Right side piece: 2 ¾” x 4” add this to piece of whisper white that is 4” x 5 ¼”
  3. Adhere pocket with tear & tape on the two sides so gift card will fit inside
  4. Die cut celebration dies (two nesting sizes as shown) large is pacific point, small is whisper white. Stamp iceberg directly on die cut piece with pool party ink, color with pool party blends. Stamp sentiment in pacific point ink.
  5. Stamp the freezin’ friends critters, trees and props in memento black ink on a piece of whisper white cardstock, color with blends (night of navy, balmy blue, crumb cake, basic black, mango melody, smoky slate, real red); and stamp trees in just jade ink and color with just jade blends. Cut out with dies.
  6. Adhere the whisper white celebration die cut to the pacific point piece. Adhere to the card front by adding adhesive to only the left half of the pieces (so this will open- see photo). Add critters and pieces with dimensionals on outside. Glue the raccoon on the inside left and a small tree is glued down bottom right. Add greeting from Merry Moose stamp set.

Be sure to check back tomorrow for another gift card holder!

Don’t forget our Year End Sale and Clearance Rack refresh started today!

2nd Annual Christmas Retreat

Hi there friends, First of all, I want to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving! May your turkey be juicy and your potatoes not lumpy!

Did you notice anything new here on my blog?? How do you like my new header and buttons? The amazing Justin Krieger of jkcardsonline.com created all my new elements!! Didn’t he do a fabulous job? I feel like such a grown up! The owls were cute, but I’ve had them for over 6 years now, time for a blog and Facebook make-over. I have matching business cards and return address labels now too. I’d love to know what you think!

Last, but not least, I wanted to share some photos of my 2nd (Annual) Creative Christmas Retreat! I started this event last year, I wanted a way to include everyone on my team at an all day crafting event. They couldn’t all attend, so I invited some special friends to fill up the room. I’m thankful to have been able to have this event at the Clifton Park Elks again this year, and Mike Bloss outdid himself with delicious spread for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Friends brought some yummy snacks to share as well!

I found this terrific game online and thought this would be perfect for the ladies to play throughout the day and earn some raffle tickets!

This area is the lending library, I brought dozens of my stamps, punches, dies, big shots, and paper cutters.

This ballroom is huge, and provided us with ample space for crafting all day!

You can see Kathy and Amye hard at work helping me to set up each spot.

My fabulous helpers Kathy, Amye, and Patty helped me set the room up so everyone had a nice work area and their Stampin’ Up! products and gifts were waiting for them at their spot. Everyone received this canvas zippered tote bag, ceramic mug, Let it Snow embellishment kit, Jingle Bells, Snowflake Sequins, and Snowfall Accents Puff Paint! Then the items inside the snowman gift bag were all the pre-cut paper supplies they used to assemble my 8 Make and Take projects! The hot cocoa here was for one of the M&Ts.

we had this cute little hot cocoa station and the girls were able to use their own mug that was part of their gift.

Could you guess what my theme was? Let it snow… How cute is this little snowman sign?

I feel so blessed that my team and friends from near and far were able to come together for this day. My friend Jacki came all the way from New Hampshire! And Nancy, Addie and Susan are my bingo regulars, so happy they could join us!

Nellie came all the way from Saugerties! Sue and Theresa came from Queensbury! And Amye didn’t have far to travel, but she came early and stayed late to help me with set up and clean up! Thanks friend!

Three of these ladies (Lisa, Jess and Nicole) came from Johnstown. I’m so touched that so many traveled a great distance to come to this event! Look at those sharp Ott lights Cindy and Sheila brought, cool right?

Laurie came over last week to help me punch and die cut almost everything we needed for all the M&Ts. Patty also helped with set up and clean up. Thanks friends. Molly and Jill made some gorgeous cards!

Pam and Elizabeth came from the North Country and they joined Annette, Mandy and Linda at this table.

MaryBeth helped me out by cutting out all the candy canes we needed for a M&T, thanks MB! Kathy is always there for me, every event, she is my right arm and such a treasured friend, thanks Kath!  Gail and Tiffany joined them here.

Last but not least, these four friends joined us for the first time, many thanks Barb, Chelsea, Jen and Bobbi for attending!

Altogether we had 30 people come to stamp for the day, I did have two who weren’t able to make it and I’m still working on their projects for them… hopefully I’ll get a chance to finish them this weekend.

I used all the hostess rewards from placing all the retreat orders and got 5 raffle bundles and they were able to put their tickets in whatever bag they wanted.

My friend Amye made these cute mugs, can you see what it says? “Sip, stamp, repeat”. She used her cricket and vinyl to make these. Thank you so much for donating two of your mugs to the raffle!

Ready to see the projects everyone made?

The gold pizza Box featuring Perfectly Plaid bundle, this can hold a small gift, jewelry, candy or even a gift card.

Some delicious Ghirardelli Hot Cocoa and stick candy canes.

Some cool mint tic-tacs

This beautiful ice skate card could easily be turned into a gift card holder as well.

This little snow globe shaker card was the only die cutting the ladies needed to get up to cut on their own… The Night Before Christmas Memories and More card pack with envelopes was the base of the card.

The mini curvy keepsakes dies are amazing, I saw this cute snowman on Pinterest and couldn’t believe how easy it was to make!

The copper tea tins hold more than tea- you can fit some homemade chex mix, fudge, cookies, hot cocoa, tea bags, or even a gift card in here!

Last but not least, this little pillow box was a breeze to put together, the heart is from the dog punch, and then the Christmas cups of cheer dies made the perfect snowman cup. This held some marshmellows and could fit another gift card.

Next time I’ll share all the winners of the prizes and the gifts I gave everyone throughout the day, I’ve got to run and get some of my Thanksgiving meal prep going here.

Thank you for visiting my blog today! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Love,
Lynn

Team Lynnzcrafters Christmas Party 🌲

Happy Holidays Everyone!!
I had a lovely Christmas with my family, and a nice long weekend, but back to work yesterday (yes- I do miss the vacation week all my teacher friends get).

I was going through my blog posts and realized I never published a few that I had started before Christmas. Very worthy of sharing with you all, so here is a look at how I celebrated with my amazing Lynnzcrafters Team!

For starters, when people arrive, they can put their “grab bag” (a handmade gift) under the tree- this is the game where “stealing” is encouraged! Everyone brought some yummy appetizers or dessert to share- forgot to take photos of the spread, but it was amazing, as always!

Here are the 11 ladies who participated in the grab bag, and they are holding/wearing the gift they ended the game with… look at all those happy faces! We have papercrafters, knitters, wool-felters, jewelry makers, and painters amongst this group!! Seriously- best gifts EVER!

And here are the 13 who were able to attend the team party, thanks to Kara for showing me how the timer function worked on my phone!!

We also did a tag swap this year, everyone needs tags at Christmas time, right? Here are Kathy and MaryBeth with their tags.

Laurie and Wendy with their tags.

Elizabeth with her tags.

Diane, Kara and Sheila with their tags. And I forgot to take a picture of my tag, I’ll have to see if I can get a photo from someone who received my tag in the swap.

Then we split into 3 groups for my stamping project/Make and Take. It is a 2019 Calendar. I featured a lot of new products in the 2019 Occasions and Saleabration catalogs. (I plan to post a close up of all 12 months in a separate post sometime next week).

I put a box with 4 months at a time on each of the three tables, and rotated them about every 1/2 hour. Ladies helped each other to stamp and die cut their pieces.

We played Christmas music on Pandora, and crafted away. (Boy from this angle you can see how messy my craft room is… I really need to find time to declutter).

And here is a photo of my gift to each person on my team. I do still need to arrange pick up for those who couldn’t attend – (Sharon B. I will mail yours to you!) I’m so thankful to my friend Sariah who helped me order these amazing gifts for my team. I love drinking tea out of my new stainless steel travel mug- it stays warm for hours! I hope you’re enjoying your mugs ladies!

When do you take down your Christmas decorations? I like to keep mine up until Martin Luther King weekend so I can enjoy the white lights, there is something soothing about it, don’t you think?

I would like to thank you all for your continued support, encouragement and understanding this year. I seem to have grand intentions that often fall short of my own expectations (like blogging more often, or classes/projects that will take only a certain amount of time). But, I am learning to brush it off, take a deep breath, and be kind to myself by not dwelling on what went wrong, or what could have been better. In 2019, I am continuing to focus on having monthly stamping events for my team and customers where everyone has fun, helps each other, and enjoys time together. If you have any suggestions for me, please feel free to email me at my NEW email account: Lynnzcrafters@gmail.com

My First Creative Christmas Crafty Retreat!

Hi there friends, I wanted to share photos of my first retreat I held yesterday at the Elks club lodge in Ballston Lake, New York.

Let me give you the backstory, part of the training program I have been a part of for almost 3 years, encourages us to hold a creative retreat. I wanted to see one in action before I tried it myself so back in August I went with my friend Elizabeth to go to Massachusetts to Selene Kempton’s retreat. I got a lot of great ideas and saw it in action, and while I was there everyone encouraged me to plan my own. With only one free Saturday on my calendar for the month of November I came home from Selene’s retreat eager to plan my first one. Everything came together and I feel so blessed. The day I had available was yesterday, Saturday, November 17, which was the 2nd anniversary of when my sweet mother went to heaven. I know she was with me and helped everything to go so smoothly.

I first invited my team, I have 30 downline that was my starting point. I knew I only wanted to have 30 people at my first one. Not everyone could attend so then I opened it up to some great friends who I thought would enjoy attending an all day event like this. I had 25 people pre-register, and unfortunately one was sick the day of the event but we made her all the projects.

I had these canvas tote bags made up as I wanted everyone to have something to take all their prizes in projects home in. Everyone received one package of the festive farmhouse Christmas DSP, the striped burlap ribbon, and a package of metallic pearls. My theme was farmhouse Christmas and I wanted everything to coordinate. When I was shopping on Amazon for the wood slice ornaments I even found a T-shirt to match my theme so I had to get it for myself.

I don’t know if you can see in this photo but there is a fabric coaster for under their hot cocoa mug that I made, the Santa scissor charm I made with Shrinky dink material (I cased from Carol Hickman), the wood slice ornament I had help from my friends/team Kara and Laurie, and you can see all the Stampin’ Up! products that were included in this event as well as all eight projects we made.

In the first two photos, the gift card holders, I modified these from the projects we made at Selenes’s retreat. I love the simple idea of decorating our gold striped bag, and our Kraft pillow boxes, I just used the farmhouse theme to spruce it up for my event.

In the third picture, I would like to thank my friend and downline Amye Speirs for designing that card for me.

The fourth photo, with the sled, I just cased the catalog.

The fifth photo with the mini tea light lantern, I modified the tutorial from Allison Okamitsu, and her blog is called Nice People Stamp, she’s a wonderful demonstrator from Canada and her directions were perfect. I just changed the paper and ribbon to match my theme.

The little joy stocking was from November 2017 paper pumpkin kit, unfortunately it’s sold out now but I bought a bunch back in September to use for this event.

The last two photos showcase our beautiful mini gable boxes one is in silver and the other is a shimmery white. I just created these two designs using the farmhouse DSP & wanted this to be fun treat holders, I had candy on every table that people could take to fill their little boxes.

I did not have very much money to spend on decorations after ordering all the supplies needed for these projects and the little goodie bags. So my wonderful sister-in-law Kathy loaned me all her farmhouse Decor so I could decorate the tables at check-in and where we ate our meals.

We had a little hot cocoa station, I had a lending library set up where people could borrow my stamps, dies, and punches as well as the big shot set up.

I rotated the projects to each table every half an hour so they could comfortably stay at their seat and I then returned all the projects to a table in the back if anybody arrived late and needed to go make their projects- they had the rest of the day to complete their projects.

Everyone received one raffle ticket for attending the event, I also gave raffle tickets every time they finished five projects they brought to work on, I gave one raffle ticket for each $10 they purchased from me from my retired table or my adhesives, or a catalog order they placed with me. Then I had five bundles of wonderful product and they put the raffle tickets inside the bag of the items they hope to win. I also sold raffle tickets individually, or an arm length for $20. I drew the winners at about 8 PM,  Kara won the Stamparatus, Jessica won the farmhouse Christmas bundle, Amye won the alpine snow Bundle, Jackie won the Snow is Glistening bundle, and Linda won the Winter Woods bundle. I used all the hostess rewards, and my commission on the sale of all the products I ordered for this event as the prizes.

I arranged for my wonderful friend Wendy to come and do chair massages, 19 people enjoyed a relaxing massage, poor Wendy was exhausted after four hours, I am so thankful she was able to come and I know everyone enjoyed their massage! Thanks friend! 😘

I have to say the food was delicious, and I’m so thankful to Mike Bloss from the Clifton Park Elks, what a fantastic job he did and we really enjoyed the spread for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I only remembered to take pictures of the lunch buffet but the set up was the same. It was really nice to get up from our crafting table to go to the lunch table.

It just warms my heart to see this room full of special ladies who came out and supported me with my first retreat, everyone shared an 8 foot table, and we had them all near the walls so they could plug in their lights or electronics.

I had some ordering specials for my attendees, and will be placing their orders today. I also still need to unpack my car and now get ready for bingo next week. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who attended, all my helpers, most especially my team for joining Lynnzcrafters and coming out to this event yesterday!

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog post today, I would love to hear from you! What was your favorite project? Would you like to attend an event like this? This was a 12 hour day, we were open from 9 AM to 9 PM… Although we did close up a little early last night everyone was fatiguing myself included.

Please leave me a comment, I am going to do a giveaway I have an extra canvas bag from this event and I will send it to one lucky winner who leaves a comment on this post by Wednesday 11/21 at 6 PM.

Fall Fun Cards in Corinth!

I was so honored and excited to be invited to have a fun fall card making night at my friend Wendy’s massage studio up in Corinth. (Amethyst Springs). I invited some ladies that I knew who lived up that way and Wendy posted it on her Facebook page and we found some crafty ladies who came that we met for the first time. Wendy made a yummy dinner of meatballs and veggie lasagna, bruschetta and salad and then she had cookies and cheesecake for dessert. We made four cards and everyone enjoyed the evening so much they asked me to come back and do Christmas cards, so we will be getting together again on Thursday night November 29, let me know if you’d like to be invited to this Christmas card get together.

Here are the four cards we made last night:

This card is a CASE of one of the beautiful cards my downline Lisa made for me last month. I modified it as we were using the sunflowers in another card. The secret to making these adorable little fences was a dryer sheet under the card stock. It worked like a charm.

This was a card I created and used for my card swap by mail with 21 other demonstrators that I participated in last month.

This card was modified slightly from a card I received from Sandy C. in a card swap by mail with 21 other demonstrators that I participated in last month.

Wendy gave me this adorable burlap adorned photo holder that worked out perfectly to hold my sample card. Specially came in handy since I forgot my giant close pins that I normally use to keep cards up high so everyone can see them.

What do you think? I always love to hear from you and see what you think of the cards, is there anything you would do differently?
