Happy Hanukkah!

Hello Friends!

I wanted to share a special Hanukkah card that I created to be featured in a tutorial bundle with some of my crafty demonstrator friends! We have created this blog hop as well as a Hanukkah Tutorial bundle! I’ll be sharing it with all who order from me this month!

Here’s the details:

card base: Night of Navy cardstock cut 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″

Silver foil paper cut 5 1/4″ x 4″ (die cut the dove’s solid wings- one will be cut on the silver face up, one cut with silver face down to get this effect of two outstretched wings)

Feels Like Frost DSP is cut 5″ x 3 3/4″

Wrap Metallic Silver edged ribbon around the DSP/Foil that is adhered together, tie knot off to side as shown. then adhere to top of card base

Cut Dove body and wings out of whisper white cardstock, and adhere to the silver foil pieces and add to top of the card with dimensionals. Cut little sprig out of garden green cardstock.

Stamp “Happy Hanukkah” in Night of Navy ink, on whisper white cardstock, punch ends with Lovely Labels Pick a Punch (annual catalog) and adhere to card, over the ribbon, with dimensionals.

On the inside, stamp “Peace on Earth” on a piece of whisper white cut 5 1/4″ x 4″, add strip of DSP 5 1/4″ x 1″

Need a treat to go with that Hanukkah Card? This adorable acetate box is perfect for a homemade cookie, candy, gift card, money, or even some handmade cards!

The belly band is 3″ x 12″ wrapped around the acetate box. Add a silver foil label cut from celebrations label dies. Create a dove out of all whisper white cardstock and assemble as shown. Add greeting, sprig, pearls and add over the ribbon. What would you give as a Hanukkah gift?

Of course these projects can be modified for a winter birthday, thank you or Christmas gift/card as well. Just change out the sentiment if desired.

I am going to “try” to blog more often, I’ve missed writing and sharing here on this blog. It seems when life gets hectic, blogging falls down farther on my long “to do” list.

Let me know what you’d like to see me feature here.

Stamping with Seniors- November

Today was my monthly stamping event at the Atrium, a Senior Citizen Retirement Apartment Complex. I was asked to offer Thanksgiving and Hanukkah items this month. Here’s what I came up with.

Many sincere thanks to Amye, Judy, Sheila, Claire, Ashley, Nicole, and Sophie for volunteering their time today so that these seniors could have some stamping fun. I think the girls enjoyed going door to door to invite people to come stamp and then they went around at the end of our stamping time and delivered hand-made cards and decor to the residents. The girls got a lot out of it, and I heard them commenting “did you see her smile when we gave her that card??” sniff, sniff… this friends is what “pay it forward” means, to be giving of your time, talent and spirit is worth all the gold in the world. I hope we melted a few hearts today, well besides mine that is. So proud of my group of friends who are so generous with their time. Thank you a million!

Well, off to my first booking from book-a-thon at Jen’s house tonight. Will post pictures tomorrow.
Take care, thanks for visiting my blog!
