HSS Color Challenge #198

I am so honored to have been selected as one of three winners in the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog card challenge last week, they even sent me a special badge to put over on  my sidebar- see it?? How cool is that??

Here is the link if you’d like  to check it out (I’ve never won a card design challenge before!):  Hand Stamped Sentiments

Their newest challenge is a color combo that I just love!

HSS Challenge Logos-003

I had a really hectic week and just got my November club prepped last night, that’s right and club is this morning! Yikes, that’s cutting it very close. I decided to have one of my club cards be this color combo challenge from Hand Stamped Sentiments. What do you think? Why don’t you play along with the challenge? It would be fun to see your interpretation using these three colors.

And here are the supplies I used for this challenge:

I am so in love with our entire Project Life line of products. The stamp sets and the card collections can be used in card making, completing albums, decorating, and they look great framed as well.
It sure makes it so quick and easy to get your photos right in albums. The pocket cards are so simple, even children can participate in memory-keeping. I don’t even call it scrapbooking any more… stay tuned I’m going to have another Project Life event coming up this month. Can’t wait to see you, hope you can make it!
Thanks so much for stopping by today to read my blog! I hope you have an awesome weekend. Come back tomorrow and Monday if you want to see the rest of my cards for my club this month.
Lynn

October Club Projects…

Good morning friends, how are you? I have missed blogging, it has been a very busy week and I was knocked down a couple days with a virus, all I could accomplish was resting on the couch and watched some shows on my DVR…. Cedar Cove, Parenthood, and Big Bang, all caught up. Good thing I was so productive last weekend getting ready for club and my 6th Annual Columbus Day Stamp-a-Stack. Want to see some projects?  Let me know which one is your favorite, I love to hear from YOU!

First up is a card that I cased (copy and share everything) – the minute I saw this punch art turkey, I knew I had to case it. Thanks to Aly S. for the inspiration! Love this card, and the sentiment from “Mingle all the way” fits perfectly, right?? If you’re not in my club, and would like one of these cards, I am taking orders, and can mail them to you (or deliver if local) in plenty of time for Thanksgiving. Also, can do custom Halloween cards too, it’s not too late. $3.50 if mailing or $3 each for local customers. Let me know what you think. thanks.

Next up is a stamp set I have used a few times, but I can’t get enough of the cardinal, so I changed this one up, featured these framelits before I knew they were a “weekly deal”- would you like to save money? Our weekly deals are 25% off original price and good for 7 days only, they launch every Tuesday morning and expire every Monday night at midnight MT.

Card #3 for club members this month is this card, I really wanted to feature the new stars, can you believe I hadn’t made a card with them yet??

Last but not least, yes 4 projects this month, is this cute santa box, case from Pinterest (by Lynn Starzl)- I love all the inspiration from Pinterest, don’t you?

So that’s it for today, whew, that was a lot of typing… I will post my 7 cards from my 6th Annual Columbus Day Stamp a Stack later this week, need to go finish getting ready.

Hope you all are enjoying this beautiful weekend! Thank you so very much for stopping by my blog today! Would love to hear from you!!

club nov

These were 3 of the four projects we made in my November club this morning… I had one more project, but I forgot to include it in the photo- it’s the mini coffee cups… will be adding that as a separate post.

Funny story about the silver dove card… last weekend when we went on our crafting get-away we forgot the SU silver foil paper to make this card, but I had aluminum foil with me, so we just wrapped a piece of card stock, and snailed the foil (shiny side up) down and ran it through the texture folder. Everyone in club loved this idea- I was calling it a faux pas, or “poor man’s foil paper” but it’s really genius… don’t you love an inexpensive solution to your crafting projects?

thanks for stopping by to visit my blog today, hope you have a great weekend! and happy crafting!

Christmas Stamp a Stack was Great!

annes card

Today was my 4th Annual Columbus Day Christmas Card Stamp a Stack Class. As always, it was a full house (for me that’s 8 stampers in my craft room). We were running down to the kitchen to use the 2nd big shot and heat embossing gun used on this card. This card is a CASE from Anne Kennedy, one of my wonderful sidelines. I just changed the embossed snowflake to pool party here. There were dazzling diamonds (aka glitter) everywhere!

case anne s

This card is modified from one I saw online made by another demonstrator, Ann Schach, a Stampin Up! demonstrator who specializes in vintage cards. Ann hand cut out the wreath and used lots of pearls to accent her card. Her base was done in very vanilla, whereas I used Garden Green to tie in the color of ink pad from the wreath. My little holly berries weren’t totally dry before I touched them, and I didn’t have time to go back and make another sample card. I think this helped everyone remember to be careful when using the dazzling details. Also, I’d like to point out that the key to using these new expression thinlits dies is to use a double layer of wax paper between the thinlit and the cardstock, run through big shot backwards and forwards (two turns under the steel die) and carefully remove the wax paper from thinlit before next use. This ensures you have a crisp word each time. The “poky” thing to the rescue today- what a marvelous tool to use with these dies.

swap 2

This card was a swap I received over the summer from swap I did by mail, made by demo Wendy Knowles. I was lucky that my friend Judy loaned me the stamp set and punch, as I don’t own it yet. This was a fast and simple card, made all the more easy by the fun and wonderful washi tape. The ladies enjoyed using the washi.

snow

This card is modified from some that were on pinterest, but it’s so hard to know who made the original, as there was no watermark on there. I love this new little snowman set. It was much easier to use than the snow buddies we had last year. This card was a breeze with the whisper white craft ink. It also pointed out the new striped embossing folder that many people said they didn’t even notice in the mini catalog.

peace

Last but not least, is the card that was my own design. I actually CASE-d from myself- from my swap earlier this month (remember the mini squares?) anyway, I knew I wanted the ladies to have fun with the new Circle card thinlits. Then it was just a matter of incorporating matching paper- which I did with the Winter Frost DSP (designer series paper).

peace inside

Here  is the inside of the card. Sentiment is stamped in new Silver Encore Metallic ink pad.

What one is your favorite?? I love reading your comments! Thanks for visiting with me today, and I hope you had a wonderful Columbus Day weekend! I know I sure did!

Have a great week!
