By The Tide Club Card #2

by the tide club

Hi there stamping friends!

I’m not sure if you are aware of this tidbit of info, but as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, we have access to a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator only website which is chock full of cards, projects, scrapbook pages, 3-D items, and projects for any holiday or occasion you can think of. I go on this website daily, to check and see what others have shared with the community of demonstrators. In the past year, SU has opened our site (called Stampin’ Connection- get it, we connect with each other, cute huh?) to other markets, like Canada, Germany, France, UK, Australia, South Pacific, to name a few. I can not express how rewarding it is to see the work of, chat with, and learn from thousands of demonstrators. I have made friends from all over the country, and have several demos I hope to meet someday who are abroad now. Isn’t the internet wonderful?

Anyway, this card that I came up with for club this month was inspired by Sandy Mathis, a demonstrator who I have never met, but hope to someday- I do admire her work. We have this phrase in the crafting industry called “CASE-ing” and it stands for “Copy And Share Everything”… this sure has helped me in the past 4 1/2 years that I’ve been a demonstrator. Yes, I do take time to create and come up with cards and ideas on my own, but when I’m crunched for time or want multiple ideas to show a hostess, or need help with designs, I go to our Stampin’ Connection website for inspiration. I usually try to tweak it (colors, punches, additions, substitutions, etc.) to make it my own, but I have been known to CASE a card for club, workshops and events. There, that’s how we all do it!

So back to this card, it features the set “By the Tide” stamp set, like I showed you in yesterday’s post. I again used versa mark ink and embossed the coral in pool party embossing powder. I used real red ink for the lobster and happy birthday greeting (from Petite Pairs). I used River Rock for the Nantucket stamp. Then I used Crumb Cake ink on the shell, phrase, and the small dots are from French Foliage (so sad this is retiring!)

I am continuing my Contests and Giveaways with a free By the Tide Stamp Set in Clear Mount to one lucky winner! I will be selecting a winner on May 13th who shop my online store and use the Hostess Code: AQ69YM49 The hostess is Amy DeBiase, and I am going to collect outside orders to tack onto her workshop next weekend. I will enter each person into the drawing and will pull the lucky winner on May 13th at 8 pm. Remember, when you shop my online store, the order will ship to you directly to your house.

By the Tide, Ombré Technique

By the Tide Ombré Style

image

Hi there! I almost titled this post “Where did the weekend go?” It really flew by, kicking the weekend off with our first ever Mother-Daughter event, then Saturday morning was my monthly stamping club, the rest of Saturday is a blur- I did get my pedicure at long last, ah, my poor feet were sadly neglected this winter. I ran errands, and I finally got to sit down and drool over our new catalog. It is so much better than looking at it online… I have a very long wish list made out already. I can’t wait to show you all the fun new products!

I spent a lot of time in the craft room…. My favorite room in the house! This card is one I’m featuring in clubs this month. I started to notice more demonstrators featuring cards they made with this technique. To me, it seemed a perfect technique to use with By the Tide, do you think it looks like a nice underwater scene? The three blues used are:Pacific Point on the bottom, Marina Mist on the top, and Tempting Turquoise in the middle. I cut up our stamping sponges into sections, and you sponge the color on whisper white card stock in a fast circular motion. The sea horse is stamped in black Stazon ink, the fish in Pacific Point ink, and the coral was done in versamark ink, then heat embossed with pool party embossing powder. The mat is made with a piece of marina mist card stock, and the knots, are made with our retired, rope.
Here’s a close up of the card, what do you think?

One of my staff is retiring tomorrow, and I made him this card.
Happy stamping!

Lightening Quick Cards in a Flash

dania's april meeting

Hi Stamping Friends!
Do you like that catchy title? My upline, the wonderful Dania Welch, came up with that tag line for her new cards she’s doing with her downline (and clubs too I think). We made these three adorable cards (honestly I don’t think it took even one hour to make them). The great thing is these cards look like they took longer than that, right?

The first card features the wonderful new stamp set called Cross My Heart (clear mount item #126582 for $16.95 or wood mount set is item #126580 for $22.95) This is the perfect stamp set for all you Scrabble, Upwords, or Words with Friends addicts, I mean fans. Here is a glimpse of all the stamps that are included in this set:

This is the second lightening quick card we made tonight from the stamp set called You Rule (clear mount item #129264 for only $13.95 or wood mount is item #129261 for only $17.95) and did you notice the jumbo Rhinestones used for three of the crown points? how nice for a mother’s day, or special friend or coworker’s birthday.. the possibilities are endless with this set.

And here are the rest of the images in “You Rule” stamp set:

you ruleThe third card we made tonight is my favorite! I admit I haven’t played with this set enough. I made my father his birthday card back in February (and of course forgot to take a picture of it). I know I’m going to make a bunch of cards with this set to sell at the Spring Boutique event I was invited to on April 20th in Lake Luzerne (hey- save the date, would love to have you join us up there- 15 vendors, right on the lake, bring your kayak for a day of fun and some shopping while you’re up there). This stamp set is called “By the Tide” and in clear mount it is item #129120 for only $19.95 or wood mount item #129117 for only $27.95.  This set is perfect for making cards or scrapbook pages for those fun summer beach goers and all lobster lovers! (Any Cape Cod fans?? this set is perfect for them!)  Anyway, I digress… here is the third card- what do you think?

WOW, don’t you want to create some lightening fast cards in a flash now?? I want to make some more! Let me know which of these three is YOUR favorite… would love to read your comments. Also, please kindly tell your stamping friends to “follow” this blog (upper corner, just click the word “follow” and then type in your email address. All my blog posts will be emailed to you… how easy is that?

Well, I am pretty wiped out from a very long day, work and then our monthly stamping get-together at Dania’s, then some errands… glad to sit and blog tonight. I already know what I’m going to talk about tomorrow… I’ll give you a hint: butterflies. that’s it, more tomorrow!
Until tomorrow, happy stamping!
