Creative Inking Blog Hop…

creative hop

Hello Stamping Friends!

Welcome to the first Creative Inking Blog Hop endeavor featuring 13 talented Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. We are excited to share our stamping and papercrafting ideas featuring the amazing products by Stampin’ Up!  A blog hop is a chance to go visit some other blogs that you may not have visited before. It is an excellent opportunity to see a lot of different styles of crafting. I have been following these other 12 demonstrators for several months and they do great work, I’m sure you’re going to enjoy our new monthly Blog Hop!

You should have just arrived here from Colleen Vassos and her blog.  I have never met the other 12 talented demonstrators, but our common denominator is the uber amazing and talented Patsy Waggoner! (I did get to meet her at Convention last year)!  She is a Stampin’ Up! Rock Star who helps create, support and update blogs for other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Here is her contact info: www.blogsbypatsy.com (in case you need some blogging help). I joined her Facebook group and I learn so much about blogging  just from being a member of that private group. Anyway, another demonstrator suggested we try a blog hop, and since it was one of my New Year’s Resolutions, I signed up right away. We’ve been planning this since just after Christmas. We have a theme for each month, and we’ll be linking up with these cute blog hop graphics made by Amber Swift. So be sure to mark your calendar- we will go live at 12:01 am Central Time on the 20th of each month. (Which is 1:01 am Eastern Time).

Without further ado, here is my post for today. The topic is: Color the World with Blendabilties  isn’t this an awesome theme? I’m ready for more bright colors (and so tired of the snow here in Upstate NY)!

blog hop 3

I came up with two slightly different cards to share with you today. They both use the new stamp set Indescribable Gift from our 2015 Occasions (“Spring”) mini catalog. This stamp set has three sentiments for Easter card making, but I decided to use just the flowers for this blendabilities post. I wanted to do this card in two color options, thinking this looked like a sprig of cherry blossoms, what do you think?

blog hop 4

First up is the card colored in Pink Pirouette blendabilities (aka “blendies” for short). In the catalog, there is a photo of this technique- using the soft sky blendies to outline the floral design, it gives it a little pop of color, don’t you think? I love the new Hello You thinlit dies, I just needed to trim off a small piece at the end of the letter “s” so it would fit in an envelope.

blog hop1

Here is a close up so you can see how I layered the light and medium blendies for each of the three colors used on the floral image: Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, and Crumb Cake. Only the lightest soft sky was used for the outline.

blog hop 5

Next up is the same floral image, this time colored with Calypso Coral, Old Olive and Crumb Cake. I omitted the soft sky outline on this one, as I thought this was “just enough”- what do you think?

blog hop2

I like to start with the lightest color in the set of blendabilities and then apply medium, and sometimes I go back with the darkest color- but I didn’t use that on this card.

*There is still time to “earn” some free items during Stampin’ Up!’s annual Sale-a-bration- a customer rewards event that only comes around once a year. This year Stampin’ Up! has added our original 12 Blendabilities colors to the mini catalog of free choices- you get 1 free item with every $50 products purchased. There are awesome stamp sets, designer series paper, Project Life cards (I blogged about those the other day see this post if you want to take a peek at those awesome SAB items). Let me know if you have any questions about Sale-a-bration, and if you’d like to try to earn some of these awesome products for free!

Well, that’s all I have for you today, I would love to hear from you, I read and reply to every comment. Do you love our new Blendabilities as much as I do?? Here’s an important reminder/tip for all of you who have purchased them (or earned some free from SAB)… remember to store them flat, and double (or triple check) that the cap is applied tightly, you should hear a click… if the cap is not put on tightly and completely, these markers will dry out. I’ve had more than one of these dry up after a stamp camp or class, so I’m now being extra vigilant after others use them. Also, have a scrap paper under the image you are coloring, they do bleed through. Also, you will definitely want to use our Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad (not Stazon) so that the ink doesn’t bleed. Hope those tips help!

Thanks so much for stopping by today, click the “next button” below and you will hop on over to the amazing Phyllis Shepherd’s blog.

It’s a Cherry Cobbler Christmas

Hi Friends! I hope you had a super great weekend! I know I sure did!

I wanted to share with you the two cards my stamping friends are going to make tonight at my first Christmas Stamp-a-Stack Class of the season! I didn’t intend to do both cards using Cherry Cobbler blendabilities, but I somehow either loaned, or lost, my circle framelits, so I had to come up with another card quick. (if you borrowed them please let me know as I am losing my mind over it!) thanks.

The cardinal card was a “CASE” (Copy And Share Everything) from another talented demonstrator named Pam (I goggled her and found her facebook page called Pam’s Paper Playhouse). I made some slight changes to use the products I had available for the class. Both cards feature our new blendabilities (alcohol markers) and boy, do they just make all the difference in the world! The Joyful Christmas poinsetta stamp set will retire for good on Wednesday August 27th, sniff, sniff … so I had to use it one more time.

Here are the supplies I used to make the cardinal card:

I did make a “mask” using a post-it note of the cardinal, so when I sponged the Lost Lagoon ink all over the whisper white paper, I didn’t want it on the bird.  It was really fun to make this card, I hope my friends like it too. Thanks to Pam for creating such a great masterpiece!

Next up is my favorite stamp set from the 2013 Holiday Catalog, and it has been on the “Carry Over List” and will retire on Wednesday August 27th. Here’s the list if you want to see what else is going away (there is a super nice Hanukkah stamp set in there!)    Carry-Over Holiday List

Here are the supplies I used for this card:

My Christmas Card Stamp-a-Stack is the last Monday of the month from now to Thanksgiving. It is 10 cards per night, for $20 and as you can see there are two designs, stampers will make 5 of each one. I have room in the September, October and November class, so if you’d like to sign up- contact me for registration information. RSVP and payment is required at least 5 days before the event.

Thanks for stopping by my blog today, and if you need to purchase any of these, or any other items, please remember to use the August Hostess Code if you do online shopping with me: YA7CNZND
(this will save you on shipping costs and it will come directly to you!)
Have a great day!

Blendabilities Class!

Hi There! I wanted to share with you the three cards I came up with to showcase the Blendabilities Bundle that I offered last month. Six wonderful women took me up on my offer and they will be joining me this week for a FREE coloring class, and they will get to make these three cards!

I was very happy to see Vivid Vases carry-over from our spring catalog, it is a great stamp to start learning to color using blendabilities. The vases just lend themselves to needing “blending”…

IMG_0366

This card was inspired by another demonstrator, Jan Tink, I just loved her color combinations and use of the camera paper. I changed my card up a tad bit.

IMG_0367

I think Blended Bloom is one of the nicest single stamps we’ve ever offered, it is so versatile and perfect for practicing with Blendabilities! the shading and color combinations are endless!!

What Sets Them Apart:

  • The Stampin’ Up! rectangular barrel keeps your markers from rolling away!
  • Flat storage helps to maintain the life of each marker.
  • Each marker comes with a tip on each end: brush and fine.
  • Marker tips are made of nylon, which is superior to polyester which can fray.
  • Color coded caps.
  • Stampin’ Up! markers coordinate wonderfully with our cardstock, and can be used with transparent sheets.
  • Use blendabilities to color our pearls, rhinestones, ribbon, and acetate sheets for even more options!!

Please note:  On August 1, 2014, the remaining six color assortments featured in the new catalog (Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo, Night of Navy, Wisteria Wonder, Smoky Slate and Crumb Cake) will be available to purchase (demonstrators can pre-order them on July 1st).

Free Marker, New Markers… must be time to COLOR!

demoheader_paperpumpkin_demo_1.11-1.27.2014_US_CA

Hi there Stamping Friends!

Stampin’ Up! Leadership Conference kicked off yesterday in Houston, Texas… although I’m a little sad to not be there this year, I’m looking forward to my first Convention in July. Well, I have been following the news, tweets, facebook pages and instagram accounts of all my favorite demos from across the country and have some news to share with you!

First of all, with all new Paper Pumpkin subscriptions who sign up at www.mypaperpumpkin.com/ between January 11 and February 10, 2014, will receive a FREE set of 2012-2014 In Color Stampin’ Write Markers -a $14.95  value-with their Welcome Kit. Who doesn’t love FREE?? And people who are at leadership have said that they previewed some upcoming PP kits and they are awesome. So excited. Please remember to fill in my name (Lynn Streifert) when it asks for your demo! I thank you!

blendabilities

REALLY exciting new markers coming called Blendabilities, If you like Copic markers but don’t like the price, you will love these. Alcohol markers that blend beautifully and even a marker that removes color if you make a mistake. These 12 color groups that will come in sets of 3 for 11.95 (US) So each spot above represents the 3 gradient colors that blend together. There is a set of 6 skin tones, and the color remover pen also. They are not refillable at this time so they can be a lower price point than other alcohol markers. They will not replace our regular markers – the alcohol markers dry too fast to use on your stamps or to use aquapainters with. Think of these as another color tool to add to your tool box. They are square and won’t roll off your table, bullet tip on one end, brush tip on the other. They recommend using the Memento Tuxedo Black pad (which we will carry also) and NOT using StazOn, which is an alcohol based pad. Sooooo excited!

Paper Pumpkin Flyer

Have a great day and weekend (I plan to be back tomorrow to post my January Club projects- they are so darn cute, if I must say so myself).

Thanks for visiting my blog!
