Here is the USA it is the month when we celebrate Thanksgiving, which is certainly a time when we express out thanks and gratitude. Creative Circle Design Team- Never Ending Cube!

Hello there Crafty Friends!

Today we are showcasing the amazing project- The Never Ending Cube, designed by our awesome leader- Liz Holloway! And, today we welcome our newest Designer- Kate Creasey, who is a real pro with her Silhouette machine (I am still learning all the features of my machine). Welcome Kate! So glad you joined our group!

Today’s project is the “Never-Ending Cube”, which uses 8 cubes that are 2″x 2″. Liz sent all of us a copy of the file for our Silhouette machines, as well as a video on how to assemble it. I used clear packing tape to put my cube together, as my duct tape was hot pink and I was afraid it would be visible on the edges. I decided early on that I wanted my cube to feature all our new Christmas stamp sets, and boy-it was so much fun! This is my first time making a never-ending cube, and let me tell you- the possibilities are endless! I can see using photos to make this into a wonderful photo cube (great gift idea!). Don’t have a Silhouette? No problem, there is a PDF file and you can easily cut them by hand. Let me know if you would like this pattern, I am able to give it away to customers who place a $20 order (or more) in my online store this month. Welcome to our October Blog Hop!! This month our theme is Thanks, Thanksgiving, and Thankfulness. I have needed a lot of Thank You cards lately, and I wanted to showcase a card and project that might inspire you too! As always, everything is available in my online store, and I’m happy to help you if you need anything, let me know!

As you know, I am involved in four blog hops with four different groups of stampers. Today it just so happens that two of the hops coincide- I worried about this happening…. but if you want to see more on this theme, come back tonight at 9 PM eastern time and you’ll see some more projects!

Everyone knows how much I love owls, right? Well, today’s projects feature my beloved owls.

The card is made with the new hostess set from the 2016 Holiday Catalog called “Cozy Critters”. I pulled in the tree stump from Foxy Friends so my little fox would have someplace to sit. Guess what I used for the owl’s eyes? The 1/8″ hand-held punch worked perfectly for the smallest pieces. (The scarves on both the owl and fox were hand-cut). And the greeting is from “Acorny Thank You” that carried over from last year.

I wanted my little owl house to be cute and woodsy, I started by just stamping the door on my piece with the hardwood background stamp in Early Espresso ink on my crumb cake cardstock. (First I cut the two pieces from Home Sweet Home thinlits dies. Use post-it notes to mask off so ink doesn’t get on the house).

Use our wonderful Tear-n-Tape to assemble your little houses, you don’t want them popping open or falling apart. Love our heavy duty double sided Tear-n-Tape for projects like this!! I made a custom roof so it would look more rustic.

The August Paper Pumpkin kit had these adorable wooden accent pieces, I thought they added a nice touch to my little fall project, what do you think?

Creative Circle Design Team Pop-Up Card… October 2016

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for joining our blog hop today! I’m so excited about our newest Designer to join our team- the uber talented Michelle Suit! You are going to love her awesome punch art and Disney creations I’m sure. Today on the blog hop, we are showcasing the very fun Pop-Up Card! It has taken the paper crafting world and Pinterest by storm, and our amazing leader, Liz Holloway, came up with a Silhouette file and sent it to us to create our own versions of a Pop-Up Card! I can’t wait to see what everyone came up with! I decided to use all new products from the 2016 Holiday Catalog by Stampin’ Up! (if you don’t have a demonstrator and need a catalog, let me know- I’d love to mail you one!)

Here is the view of the card as I took off the belly band, you can see the folded insert- it is going to POP-Up…

It’s hard to get a full view of the card as it is sooooo big when it is open….

I stamped all the images in Versamark ink, then used black embossing powder and my handy dandy heat tool to emboss all the images. It made coloring, sponging and shading so much easier!

I used Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Smoky Slate, and Soft Sky inks to sponge and color in the images and backgrounds (to match the Halloween Night Specialty Designer Series Paper).

Did you know if you want a “softer look”, you can just put some ink from our awesome Stampin’ Markers directly onto a clear block, then pull the color off with our blender pens and you can create a softer, lighter tone while coloring. I love that you can accomplish great shading with our markers and inks and blender pens!

I thought the whisper white paper was too stark, and sponged smokey slate ink directly on my 2 1/2″ squares to give them some spooky effects.

This is what my piece of 12″ x 12″ basic black card stock looked like after I cut it on the Silhouette Cameo machine with Liz’s file.

Decided to use the specialty piece as my card base, can you see the silver embossing on the spider web? It’s amazing! (cut it 4 1/4″ x 11″)

I traced the pop-up portion directly onto my grid paper, cut it out to use as a stencil, then shaved 1/8″ off all 5 sides for my two inserts.

Our fantastic Tear-n-Tape is the perfect choice to assemble this card, and ensure nothing comes off (I’m sure this card is going to get opened a hundred times)… just strategically place the tear-n-tape on the non-moving parts. (the two pieces that look like arrows need NO adhesive, or the card won’t open).

The four panel pop-up card insert gets strategically placed and I used more tear-n-tape to adhere them to the pop-up card base. Liz’s video makes this so easy, sorry my photo doesn’t show this step very clearly.
