Welcome to the Stampin Friends Blog Hop! Thank you so much for joining us today, I hope you enjoy our new format for 2017! This month’s theme is Love and Valentine’s Day. If you’re following along the hop, you’ve arrived from Steph’s blog.

15894722_10154773448991101_1666745528435465476_n

First up are my 3-D creations for this hop. I have scheduled a framed art class around the theme love and Valentine’s Day and class members will get to pick which frame they would like to make. I wanted to go with “outside of the box” ideas, what do you think of these projects? I know many people like everything even/level, I went with my squares tilted in the red and white version. The punch art owl (in the red/white framed piece) was inspired by Dawn Olchefske (I am so crazy about owls, my friends and downline always share them with me when they find them on the internet). The little mini lights are battery operated, perfect for my table.

Next up is my Valentine’s Day card that I offered my club members this month and since I also offered a Valentines class last night and none of my club members took that class I was able to use this card again. (I never really use the card if the same stampers are going to be in the class I want them to always have different cards, it can get hectic to keep track believe me). Do you notice the stitched framelits I used for the whisper white square? I am so thrilled these are back in stock and available for you to order they flew off the shelves on November 1 and I can’t remember how long it took to sell out, just a couple days, but they are back now and hopefully here to stay until they launch in the new catalog in June. (they are my favorite die at the moment!)

And this cute little card I came up with to also offer at my Valentine’s Day card class, it’s so fun to feature the new products and mix in some old favorites from the annual catalog, don’t you agree?

You can see the products I used for these projects all the way at the bottom of this post. (If you click any image in that list, it will take you directly to my online store).

Stampin Friends New Year Celebrations!

13394008_10154130509756101_1075298454063990110_n

Welcome to our final blog hop of 2016 with the Stampin Friends Blog Hop designers! Our theme this month is New Year’s Celebrations!

I’m sure some of the other Stampin’ Up! demonstrator’s will be using this set too, but I decided to use the frosted medallions stamp set from the 2016 holiday catalog (page 37). This suite of products called “Fancy Frost”, are all retiring. Today’s the last day to order for guaranteed arrival by December 25, the glitter ribbon pack and designer series paper are on sale.

I made a card and a matching gift box perfect for some homemade fudge or candy, this box is 3″ x 3″ and is food safe.

I started by embossing the largest snowflake medallion with our whisper white embossing powder and the heat tool. I embossed directly on our watercolor paper so that it was sturdy enough to withstand lots of water coloring, I used sweet sugarplum and soft sky re-inkers.

It definitely helps to dry the watercolor paper before you try to glue it down to your card base or add any embellishments, ask me how I know (wink).

This could be the end if I wanted a plain and simple card, but I wanted to showcase the matching glitter ribbon and fancy frost sequins so it needed a little more bling.

Once I got to this point I realized I had not saved enough room for the happy new year greeting, so time to move around a few sequins and rhinestones.

What do you think? Do you send cards out to welcome in the new year? I have a little secret to tell you, I have not had a minute to make my own Christmas cards this year so I’m actually thinking of sending out cards in the new year. This might very well be my own card this year, time will tell.

I’m sure you would love to receive all these wonderful prizes, just leave a comment here on my blog and on all the others. Remember to use the #SFDecHop in your comment to be counted.

I hope you enjoyed my projects today thank you for visiting my blog! That’s all for me today, would love to hear what you think! Now, ready to go check out Maureen’s stamping creations?

Stampin Friends Blog Hop-Happy Holidays!

img_4591

Hello everyone and thank you for joining us on our Blog Hop this month! Our theme this month is “Happy Holidays!” I don’t know about you, but they sure have snuck up on me this year. I want to share with you some projects I came up with for my monthy downline get-together. Can’t wait to hear what you think.

For my card, I wanted to show you my favorite new product, the Stitched Shapes Framelits! (They are running out of these beauties- just read an update that they will be “non-orderable” after next week as sales exceeded their projections, so if you haven’t ordered them yet- hurry to my online store to order yours today).

I just fell in love with these Merry Mice stamps! And bonus- they are 25% off until 11/30- along with all the other stamps that coordinate with the new Stitched Shapes Framelits. Yeah!

Side view, so you can see that this is a fun fold card called a Diorama card. What I love most about this kind of fun fold card- it lays flat and is easily mail-able (is that a word?) in our regular medium size envelopes.

Back view so you can see the pocket in the back for a greeting.

To get started making your own Diorama Card you need two pieces of 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ card stock (I used Whisper White). Then, using either your paper trimmer, or the Simply Scored board, score each piece at ½”, 1”, 4 ½” & 5”.  Then you just need to “mountain/valley” fold each piece so that it will pop up! I used the new Stitched Shapes squares framelits to cut out the middle and to cut a piece of DSP for a “framed” look on the cover of my card. Save the whisper white piece, as it becomes the piece for the pocket in the back with your greeting.

Also, I designed this framed art piece this fall when we were on our team retreat, and have finally planned a class around it (due to many customer requests)! There is a slight glare, sorry, but I think you can see the elements I used:

This is an 8×10″ frame

Close up of one of the mice. I used blender pens and our Stampin’ Up! inks in cherry cobbler, garden green and smokey slate.

This is my favorite- the caroling mouse- I call him Chester the Caroling Mouse.

What do think?

Don’t forget to enter our monthly Give-Away! There will be 16 prizes given away this month, just leave a comment on each blog for more chances to win! (to leave me a comment, scroll all the way to the bottom of this post and there is a spot to “Leave a Reply”). Remember to add the hashtag #SFNovHop when you leave me your comment. Thanks!

Stampin Friends Blog Hop- Thank You!

SFblog

Welcome to our October Blog Hop!! This month our theme is Thanks, Thanksgiving, and Thankfulness. I have needed a lot of Thank You cards lately, and I wanted to showcase a card and project that might inspire you too! As always, everything is available in my online store, and I’m happy to help you if you need anything, let me know!

As you know, I am involved in four blog hops with four different groups of stampers. Today it just so happens that two of the hops coincide- I worried about this happening…. but if you want to see more on this theme, come back tonight at 9 PM eastern time and you’ll see some more projects!

Everyone knows how much I love owls, right? Well, today’s projects feature my beloved owls.

by Lynn Streifert www.Lynnzcrafters.com ©Stampin' Up!
The card is made with the new hostess set from the 2016 Holiday Catalog called “Cozy Critters”. I pulled in the tree stump from Foxy  Friends so my little fox would have someplace to sit. Guess what I used for the owl’s eyes? The 1/8″ hand-held punch worked perfectly for the smallest pieces. (The scarves on both the owl and fox were hand-cut).  And the greeting is from “Acorny Thank You” that carried over from last year.

by Lynn Streifert www.Lynnzcrafters.com ©Stampin' Up!
I wanted my little owl house to be cute and woodsy, I started by just stamping the door on my piece with the hardwood background stamp in Early Espresso ink on my crumb cake cardstock. (First I cut the two pieces from Home Sweet Home thinlits dies. Use post-it notes to mask off so ink doesn’t get on the house).

by Lynn Streifert www.Lynnzcrafters.com ©Stampin' Up!
Use our wonderful Tear-n-Tape to assemble your little houses, you don’t want them popping open or falling apart. Love our heavy duty double sided Tear-n-Tape for projects like this!! I made a custom roof so it would look more rustic.

by Lynn Streifert www.Lynnzcrafters.com ©Stampin' Up!
The August  Paper Pumpkin kit had these adorable wooden accent pieces, I thought they added a nice touch to my little fall project, what do you think?

It’s a little retro-Vintage looking, do you agree?

Don’t forget to enter the contest for our Mystery Giveaway- be sure to leave me a comment. I love to hear from you!

Stampin Friends August Blog Hop- Hope!

SFblog

Hello there! Thank you so much for joining our blog hop this month! Our blog hop theme is “HOPE”, I’m excited to see everyone’s cards and projects, it’s a very talented group. Please welcome our guest hoppers this month, they are:  Maureen Rauchfuss, Angela Lorenz , and Kim Lamos. Welcome ladies, looking forward to seeing your creations, thank you for joining us!

For this month’s theme I decided to break out a set of new dies from the Annual Catalog called Sunshine Wishes. This set is so adorable, with great fonts too! I have been on a CAS kick (clean and simple) lately… mostly because of time constraints. I can’t wait to have some uninterrupted time to play in my craft room this weekend.

Since I was using the word “hope” die cut from Sunshine wishes, I wanted to eliminate that word from the stamp set I decided to use (Garden in Bloom, carried over from last year).

Love post-it notes for masking off- just trimmed down to fit over the word I did NOT want inked up…

And presto, now the front of the card reads “Hope you’re feeling special today”.

The little gift bag coordinates nicely with this card, and I have some special treats to put inside for a special someone. This card and gift bag would be appropriate for cheering up a friend, or for a special occasion or birthday. The possibilities are endless!

Remember that this group of blog hoppers gives away awesome prizes each month. To be entered to win, just comment below on this post and be sure to include the hashtag: #SFAugHop to be entered to win! THEN be sure to go comment on everyone else’s blog posts too- the more you comment, the higher the chances are you’ll get randomly selected! We mail out our prizes to you at the end of the month. There have been a lot of great prizes!

Stampin Friends Summer Fun

img_4591

Welcome to the July issue of our Stampin Friends Blog Hop -where the theme this month is Summer Fun! I am so excited about this theme, and I can’t wait to see what everyone has created this month! I’d like to welcome to our three guest bloggers this month:

  1. Twila Davis,
  2. Robyn Rasset and
  3. Cindy Waldroff

I don’t know about you, but in the summer I like to spend time with my family doing fun things. I’m pretty lucky to live very close to my siblings, nieces and nephews and feel blessed that we enjoy time together and love going to the movies, on fun outings, trips, swimming and going for ice cream! After taking the kids to see the new Disney- Pixar movie Finding Dory, I was smitten with all the little fish and critters.  We absolutely loved it, roared with laughter- such a fun movie!

FINDING_DORY_-_Key_Art

Then this past weekend we made a spontaneous trip to the Syracuse Zoo (the Rosamond-Gifford Zoo) which was about two hours away from us. As you enter the zoo, the first exhibit is the aquarium! Such awesome fish and marine life! We loved it!

2d2f74a5bea336289161e7eb9494825c

So my projects today were inspired by Finding Dory and The Rosamond Gifford Zoo. I knew I had to feature our brand new stamp set called Seaside Shore and the coordinating products found in the By the Shore Suite on pages 92-93 of the new 2016-17 Annual Catalog. I love the colors in the By the Shore DSP, but I wanted to incorporate more blues that are seen in nature, so I used Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise card stock for the base of my two cards.

IMG_5521

My two seaside shaker cards- super fun and used real beach sand!!

IMG_5513

Cutting the window sheets about an 1/8″ smaller than the front of the card is helpful.

IMG_5514

Be sure your sand and shells are clean and dry!

IMG_5515

Word to the wise- move the fish up a little bit (or add less sand). I stamped the greeting on another piece of window sheet and then used glue dots to adhere the three fishes so they would be “inside” the faux water.

IMG_5517

I just adore our new foam adhesive strips- they worked perfectly for both of my shaker cards!

IMG_5516

For the second card I omitted the greeting, and added coral to the inside part of the card (which I strategically placed behind the fish).

IMG_5522

Then for my 3D project, I opted to try my hand at a mini aquarium- perfect for my office- these fish won’t die on me! I stamped with Stazon ink and then colored with Sharpies on the opposite side where I inked. Then I even brushed some of my clear wink of stella over them, which is hard to see. I used clear elastic thread (from my jewelry making stash) and used glue dots to adhere the fish to the clear thread.

IMG_5523

I can’t wait to hear what you all think of my nod to summer fun! (were you worried I was pushing it yesterday with my fall tree??)

pinedoorwelcomeDid you know that the pineapple has been a symbol of hospitality since the days of the early American colonies? The legend began with the sea captains of New England, who sailed among the Caribbean Islands and returned to the colonies bearing their cargo of fruits, spices and rum. According to the legend, the captain would spear a pineapple on a fence post outside his home to let his friends know of his safe return from sea. The pineapple was an invitation for them to visit, share his food and drink, and listen to tales of his voyage. As the tradition grew, colonial innkeepers added the pineapple to their signs and advertisements, and bedposts carved in the shape of a pineapple were a common sight at inns across New England. The legend has continued to the present, and frequently one sees the pineapple symbol in hotels and restaurants to signal the presence of hospitality.

As soon as I saw the Pineapple single stamp in the new catalog when I was at OnStage in April, I knew I had to have it, I just love it! It will be great for scrapbooking, card making, and home décor!  After playing with it and trying to ink the leaves in a different color, I realized I needed to cut this stamp into two pieces. Don’t be afraid!

This makes it a breeze to ink and stamp!

I wanted the pineapple to have some shading, so I made a stencil so I could apply soft suede ink just to the pineapple.

You can really control the sponging with a stencil in place.

Here’s my finished card, I used Delightful Dijon and Always Artichoke ink pads and then used memento black for my greeting.

Since the pineapple is a symbol of hospitality, what better decoration for this little gift bag for a new neighbor?

Super quick and easy projects for you, because gift giving and card sending can be sweet and simple- I need to remind myself that more often.

Stampin Friends May Hop Sympathy/Thinking of You

SFblog

Hi there Stampin Friends! Welcome to the May 2016 Blog Hop- we are featuring Thinking of You and Sympathy cards this month. I’d like to welcome our three guest hoppers this month, looking forward to seeing what crafty projects you have come up with this month. Here are the three guest hoppers, be sure to click on “comments” and leave each of the 13 of us bloggers a comment, to be entered to win a mystery gifts from each of us!

Guest Hoppers:

  1. Maria Willis
  2. Bibi Cameron
  3. Christine Pennington

Sadly, sympathy/thinking of you cards are the one type of card that I have needed too many of recently. These are the types of cards that I prefer to make several of ahead of time, so they are ready to go when needed. I’ve gone through my whole stash and even sold out at the craft fair I did on Sunday as well.

This card is one that I made the other night so I could send it out to a very special family who lost a loved one in a tragic motorcycle accident. It is so hard to know what to say or do when someone leaves us so suddenly. I hope my card and gift basket will bring them some comfort and that they will know how much I care.

This card features two awesome stamp sets-Timeless Textures (clear mount item #140517 or wood mount item # 140514) and Wild about Flowers (photopolymer stamp set item# 138728) (so glad these  are both carrying over!)  I went with Mint Macaron and Crumb Cake for my colors and a pop of gold foil for the butterfly to make it extra special. What do you think?

In this blog hop, in addition to the card we also show you a 3D item. I didn’t really have a three dimensional project to coordinate with this theme, so I thought I’d show you the awesome gift card holder in the March Paper Pumpkin kit. I used this project at a recent stamping event with some ladies at a local church. They just loved this quick and simple project. Don’t you just adore Paper Pumpkin? The kit is always there for a quick project, and can easily be altered or modified if needed.

Are you ready to enter to win our monthly mystery giveaway?? (Try saying that three times fast!) Just leave me a comment (scroll down to the bottom of my page- comments are moderated by me to avoid spammers, I will approve your comment as soon as I can!) You must enter your comment and include #SFMayHop with your comment, to be entered in the giveaway. Hope you will consider hopping along to all 13 blog posts today- and leave comments at each one! thanks!

We will have 7 demonstrators there selling their retired Stampin’ Up! stamps, ink, paper, punches, tools, ribbon, embellishments, dies and much more! The way our BOGO works is this- you go shop around the room, pick out all the things you want, you go to the check-out table and we total up your retired purchases. Then we give you your total to go sit at a New Catalog table and you get to pick out the equivalent in NEW catalog products!! WIN-WIN! (we just add tax/shipping on the new). This is our 5th time offering this sale, and it goes really well! We prefer cash for payment as it really helps us divide up the orders at the end of the night. Welcome ladies, can’t wait to see your creations for the blog hop!

I had picked this cute stamp set, “Hey Girl” out for the blog hop before I went to OnStage convention last week. Turns out it is retiring, along with lots of products I used today.

aprilbloghop2

I used my blender pens to color in the girl, dog, butterflies, and flowers. I used sponge dauber to add soft sky and then an aqua painter to add old olive for the grass. I fussy cut the dress by stamping on the Birthday Bouquet DSP.

For the treat project, I wanted something that would hold a little gift, this mini treat box is perfect for a pair of earrings, bracelet or necklace. Notice the scallop circle punch? That is retiring also… so if you don’t have it yet- grab it fast! Punches are so versatile, I like to have them all (for punch art projects too!).

As an OnStage participant, Stampin’ Up! has challenged us to hold one more event each month from May through October… I am committing to this and have been looking at my calendar and would love your opinions, what kinds of events do you think I should be sure to include in the next six months? I’m toying with some options (Kids Classes, Mommy and Me, Technique Tuesdays, or Memory Keeping Made Simple)… do any of those interest you? I’d love to read your comments… thanks!

It’s been a busy week since I’ve been back from Utah. Tomorrow is my birthday, and I took the day off from work for some fun outings and will finalize my #6monthstampingoals

Every month each of the bloggers in this group sends one lucky winner an item from their crafting supply inventory, that means 14 prizes, all you have to do is hop around and leave a comment with a hashtag #SFAprHop on each blog. Be sure to hop around and comment by Sunday April 24th. The lucky winner will be announced on Wednesday April 27th. Good Luck!

Stampin Friends Spring Hop…

marchbloghopa

Hi there Stampin Friends! Welcome to our March Blog Hop featuring lots of Easter, Spring and soft pastel colors to inspire you! I can’t wait to see everyone’s creations! If you arrived from Leanne’s blog, WELCOME, and thank you for continuing with the blog hop! Isn’t she just amazing? I love her work- I love that her initials became her blog name “Literally My Joy”, isn’t that sweet? I got to meet Leanne last summer on my late night flight home from Convention in Salt Lake City, it was great meeting you Leanne! Hope to see you next month at OnStage!

We have three guest bloggers this month, be sure to check out their work (and remember to leave them a comment for the “Mystery Giveaway”):

  1. Barbara Welch
  2. Charlene Luks
  3. Cheryl Piotrowski

Ready to see what I have created for you this month? Here is an assortment of projects that I created for this theme of welcoming spring by using soft pastels:

First up a card using the stamp “swallowtail” from the Stampin’ Up! annual catalog. I used my sponge daubers to sponge on pastel colors all over this butterfly. After I was happy with the color I hand cut this butterfly out, and using my bone folder, gave it some 3-D.

The colors are used on the butterfly are daffodil delight, pink pirouette, pear pizzazz, and on the whisper white background I sponged soft sky.

Next up I wanted to make another card using the Rose wonder bundle. This was a big hit at my stamp-a-stack  class last month. It is so easy to remove the Rose piece from the die with the help of the new die brush and sponge pad, what a fantastic tool!!

The past few cards I have made with this technique were birthday cards, but I needed a special Easter card so I changed it up. Can you see the glimmer? The clear wink of Stella pen helped to glam this card up! I made this card by using the negative space from the card stock as my stencil to sponge on the pink and green ink for the background underneath the rose die.

Next up is my 3-D project I knew immediately I wanted to try my hand at a project that Erika Cerwin featured last spring on her blog using the intricate butterfly dies here on the curvy keepsake box. She made them in a variety of colors and they’re so beautiful. I followed her video and just added the wink of Stella clear glimmer pen over the vellum butterfly and on the circles made with the stencil and Stampin’ marker- can you see it?

These little treat boxes will be perfect for Easter or any get together really.

So what did you think? I would love to hear from you, I adore reading all of your comments, it really makes my day!

Wishing you all a very Happy  St. Patrick’s Day! Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and remember to leave a comment with the #SFMarhop to be entered into the drawing.
