Creative Inkling Blog Hop- Spring Has Sprung!

creative hop

Hello Everyone! Happy Spring! Can you believe it is finally here? What a long winter. Here in upstate NY we saw more snow than we’ve seen in decades. It’s still here actually, lots of snowbanks and lawn is still covered, but the end is in sight. I’m thrilled to be back again with our monthly Creative Inking Blog Hop! What fun last month, right? (although I feel bad if anyone rushed to get blendabilities markers- by now I’m sure you’ve heard the sad news that these alcohol markers are now discontinued.  If you have questions about your blendabilities, get in touch with your demonstrator so she can help you if they are defective or unopened.)

Now on to good news, Easter is around the corner and I love making cute Easter cards for my nieces and nephews. In fact, I picked this theme for the swap theme for my monthly downline get together which was this week as well. I love when I can create one card and use it for multiple events.

Here is the finished card- 2 versions actually one with button and one without, which one do you prefer?

IMG_1239

Do you know how I got those fun tie-dye colors?

IMG_1243

Yup, you are right- our reinkers and markers!  Let me tell you I have been having so much fun making colorful Easter eggs with this baby wipe technique. You take a new (wet) baby wipe, fold it up in half, add reinkers to the area you need (estimate your stamp size or mark it off somehow- you want more ink than stamp- you are making your own custom ink pad!) Make sure you pick colors that blend well together because they will bleed.

We used it in club this month too for our cute Easter Basket and treats- here’s a photo of that so you can see another project using baby wipe technique:

IMG_1185

When we made this Easter tag, I only used 4 colors (reinkers): Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, and Tempting Turquoise… but I felt it needed more, so for this Easter card, I added to it:

IMG_1242

Can you tell what the new 5th color is?

IMG_1241

It’s Pistachio Pudding! Don’t you love how it blends with these brights?? Well, I need to remind you that Pistachio Pudding is one of the 2013-15 In Colors, which means it is retiring from the In-Color collection in just a few weeks. If you love them, stock up on your reinkers, paper and embellishments before we run out.

IMG_1238

To make the three chicks on the top row, I stamped the whole stamp in Daffodil Delight ink pad, then used a q-tip to wipe off the flower, bunny ears, and egg… then added color with our markers and be sure to give a “huff” of your breath before you stamp- the moisture will help get good coverage from using the marker as an ink pad. Hope you give this fun technique a try!!

So there are all my swaps for my team get-together. Our Lynnzcrafters team is really growing- we had four new ladies join up this month alone. I feel so blessed with the love and friendships that have been created through stamping! I’ll be forever grateful for that first catalog I discovered in 2004… little did I know that four years later I would be a demo myself. I have no regrets- other than I wish I had signed up earlier! I have met the most talented, generous, supportive people at both Stampin’ Up! and throughout all the groups I’m in. I have wonderful support from my upline and sidelines (like brothers and sisters). I could go on and on, but suffice to say- I think YOU should take advantage of our awesome $99 starter kit deal (pick $125 in products, pick either 1 free kit from Spring Occasions Catalog OR 2 free Saleabration choices), free shipping and all the perks that go along with joining Stampin’ Up! If you want to learn more, leave me a comment- I’d love to have you join my team! We are really growing.

Whirlwind Fun…Monthly Team Get Together!

Hi Stamping Friends!

Without a doubt, one of the best perks of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is getting together with other demos for stamping fun! This month (Thursday night to be exact) was our Whirlwind Stampers get together led by my awesome upline Dania Welch! I help her organize the sign ups for M&T’s, attending, and swapping. I really look forward to seeing this group of talented demos every month- it is “stamping therapy time”- one thing we all agree on, is getting together with people with similar interests is a fun de-stressor from real life.

Anyway- this month’s projects were just out of this world- look at these amazing cards:

11050946_10152630500086781_352567663_nFirst card was created by one of my uber talented downline- Amye! Don’t you just adore these colors together? And I was looking to extend one of my stems- I discovered another wonderful feature of photopolymer stamps- I could bend the bottom half that I didn’t need around to the back of the block so it didn’t get in my way- so awesome to have stamps so flexible you can change their shape!! If you haven’t received your Lotus Blossom stamp set yet- this is the LAST month of Sale-a-bration so you can still earn this baby for FREE- just place a $50 order and you can select this as your free SAB item.

11056990_10152630500236781_479094256_n

Next up was this awesome card and box project brought to us by the amazing Anne K! She used her Paper Pumpkin this month and changed up the card design just a bit…don’t you just love this SPRING accordion card?? Love the colors and hope this helps us really bring spring forward soon!

11040764_10152630500281781_1489871826_n

I forgot to add pearls to my butterflies, will definitely add them as it is gorgeous with them! Isn’t this a great gift to give someone who needs a ‘pick me up’? Or just lovely home décor for your mantle. Paper Pumpkin refill kit for this month is on my next order, another perk of PP is that you can purchase any available past kits or refills that you want. Love it!

11051261_10152630500216781_1624739823_n

Last, but definitely not least- is this amazing masculine card by Dania! Can you tell the sentiment is embossed? It really pops, it was nice to get a closer look at this stamp set as I’ve been wondering if I should get it or not, you got it- going on my next order. The designer paper is a stack, and I’m getting that too- as it’s a bundle for 15% off retail.

1600173_10152630499931781_1862989748_n

We decided to go back to our small 2″ square samplers for our swaps this month. People have to sign up by a certain date (two demos in our group live far away so they mail their swaps so they can participate long distance). I plan to mount these over the weekend and get them in a frame- just beautiful work – I love every one of these swaps! Can you tell which one is mine? So fun to make them!

Just a reminder that our $5 off paper pumpkin 3 month subscription is almost over- if you want to get the March kit- purchase this pre-paid subscription by Tuesday March 10th at midnight (and make sure you follow the directions in the email you will receive to redeem the kit- you must sign in to your account and fill in your address by March 10th to get this month’s kit). **Please let me know if you’d like me to do this step for you- I’m happy to help you!  Or if you want to just go and sign up for monthly kit ($19.95 per month includes shipping; just add tax):

I sent out my March Monthly e-Newsletter with all my classes, events, team get togethers and news yesterday to my customers and downline. If you didn’t receive it, and you’d like to see what I’m offering, here is a link to my newsletter- I welcome anyone to attend my classes- whether you are a new stamper, experienced, a demo or former demo- all are welcome. I do adhere to sign up deadlines and pre-registration as I have so many supplies to order and don’t want to plan an event and then have cancelations… that’s no fun and a huge waste of time and materials for me. I hope you understand, I am trying my hardest to run a stamping business, as well as meet all my customer’s needs, not easy at all… but I try to always do my best for you.

March Newsletter and Events

Well that’s all for today- thanks so much for stopping by to read my blog! I hope you have some crafty fun planned this weekend! Would love to hear from you- I really treasure each comment and thank you for taking time out of your busy day for me!

Creative Inking Blog Hop…

creative hop

Hello Stamping Friends!

Welcome to the first Creative Inking Blog Hop endeavor featuring 13 talented Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. We are excited to share our stamping and papercrafting ideas featuring the amazing products by Stampin’ Up!  A blog hop is a chance to go visit some other blogs that you may not have visited before. It is an excellent opportunity to see a lot of different styles of crafting. I have been following these other 12 demonstrators for several months and they do great work, I’m sure you’re going to enjoy our new monthly Blog Hop!

You should have just arrived here from Colleen Vassos and her blog.  I have never met the other 12 talented demonstrators, but our common denominator is the uber amazing and talented Patsy Waggoner! (I did get to meet her at Convention last year)!  She is a Stampin’ Up! Rock Star who helps create, support and update blogs for other Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. Here is her contact info: www.blogsbypatsy.com (in case you need some blogging help). I joined her Facebook group and I learn so much about blogging  just from being a member of that private group. Anyway, another demonstrator suggested we try a blog hop, and since it was one of my New Year’s Resolutions, I signed up right away. We’ve been planning this since just after Christmas. We have a theme for each month, and we’ll be linking up with these cute blog hop graphics made by Amber Swift. So be sure to mark your calendar- we will go live at 12:01 am Central Time on the 20th of each month. (Which is 1:01 am Eastern Time).

Without further ado, here is my post for today. The topic is: Color the World with Blendabilties  isn’t this an awesome theme? I’m ready for more bright colors (and so tired of the snow here in Upstate NY)!

blog hop 3

I came up with two slightly different cards to share with you today. They both use the new stamp set Indescribable Gift from our 2015 Occasions (“Spring”) mini catalog. This stamp set has three sentiments for Easter card making, but I decided to use just the flowers for this blendabilities post. I wanted to do this card in two color options, thinking this looked like a sprig of cherry blossoms, what do you think?

blog hop 4

First up is the card colored in Pink Pirouette blendabilities (aka “blendies” for short). In the catalog, there is a photo of this technique- using the soft sky blendies to outline the floral design, it gives it a little pop of color, don’t you think? I love the new Hello You thinlit dies, I just needed to trim off a small piece at the end of the letter “s” so it would fit in an envelope.

blog hop1

Here is a close up so you can see how I layered the light and medium blendies for each of the three colors used on the floral image: Pink Pirouette, Old Olive, and Crumb Cake. Only the lightest soft sky was used for the outline.

blog hop 5

Next up is the same floral image, this time colored with Calypso Coral, Old Olive and Crumb Cake. I omitted the soft sky outline on this one, as I thought this was “just enough”- what do you think?

blog hop2

I like to start with the lightest color in the set of blendabilities and then apply medium, and sometimes I go back with the darkest color- but I didn’t use that on this card.

*There is still time to “earn” some free items during Stampin’ Up!’s annual Sale-a-bration- a customer rewards event that only comes around once a year. This year Stampin’ Up! has added our original 12 Blendabilities colors to the mini catalog of free choices- you get 1 free item with every $50 products purchased. There are awesome stamp sets, designer series paper, Project Life cards (I blogged about those the other day see this post if you want to take a peek at those awesome SAB items). Let me know if you have any questions about Sale-a-bration, and if you’d like to try to earn some of these awesome products for free!

Well, that’s all I have for you today, I would love to hear from you, I read and reply to every comment. Do you love our new Blendabilities as much as I do?? Here’s an important reminder/tip for all of you who have purchased them (or earned some free from SAB)… remember to store them flat, and double (or triple check) that the cap is applied tightly, you should hear a click… if the cap is not put on tightly and completely, these markers will dry out. I’ve had more than one of these dry up after a stamp camp or class, so I’m now being extra vigilant after others use them. Also, have a scrap paper under the image you are coloring, they do bleed through. Also, you will definitely want to use our Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad (not Stazon) so that the ink doesn’t bleed. Hope those tips help!

This photo showcases the Irresistibly Yours paper (see the three cards that I sponged?)… these are the cards for the Stamp-a-Stack event that was scheduled for last night- but due to the weather predictions, I decided to be safe and postponed it to next week. My stampers will be making 10 cards- they will get to decide what stamps, colors, or sentiments they want to use for their cards.

Since today’s Tuesday, I thought I would share the newest weekly deals (good until Monday February 2nd at midnight). I have to say, I love that Stampin’ Up! is offering the texture boutique as a weekly deal, I have been thinking of getting it for all the events and classes that I have, this is a no brainer now, it’s on sale, plus my discount, makes this a must have now.

Stamping Sisters are Amazing!

bdaycard6

Have you ever had a moment when you are truly surprised, and overwhelmed, and feel more blessed than you think you deserve?? These moments are very rare for me (the surprise part)… I feel blessed every day to have such amazing and loving family and friends and am especially thankful for all the new friends I have made in the years that I have been stamping. Becoming a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator was at first a “scary” decision, but my only regret was not signing up years earlier! Who knew that I would be blessed by knowing such generous, amazing people!

So, unbeknownst to me, several of my downline, my upline, and my sidelines (who I have been helping with their blogs), they decided to create a one of a kind card- it is so much more than a card- it is a work of love and art- and I will treasure it always… Karyn Morrison organized the group with directions and pieces that they completed by mail, as one of my downline was in Florida for the winter (hi Judy) and another was on the road with her hubby and their trucking business (hi Kim), and they all chipped in and gifted me not only with this beautiful card, but also two very generous gift cards that I am going to enjoy using at convention this summer. I am still blown away that you ladies did this for me, and that Karyn hand delivered it to me on Wednesday, so that April- my 50th birth-month, was truly complete. (Yes, that is the cafeteria at Schenectady County Community College- Karyn met me after work, before my part time job- teaching at SCCC).

bdaycard7

Karyn even made a special box (thank you envelope punch board!)

bday card1

The theme of the card was the 2013-15 In Colors and Owl Builder punch by Stampin’ Up!

bdaycard3

Each segment is so unique and sweet and special and amazing, just like the ladies who created them!

I cannot thank you enough Karyn, Dania, Jamie, Kim, Judy, Amye, Jan, and Pam!! You are so talented, generous and I love you all!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Well, I have more to blog about- it was a busy busy weekend, but I’m saving more for tomorrow, so come back and visit me, okay? Leave a comment, would you? I love hearing from my readers! What did you work on this weekend?

Have a great day!

April Diva Day was Divine!

Good morning friends!
Yesterday was such a blast! I had my club ladies in the morning (you saw those cards yesterday), thanks for the yummy cinnamon scones Patty, they were a delicious morning treat. And speaking of treats, thanks for the chocolate dipped peeps Amye, I don’t know if Claire and Ethan’s will make it until Easter, lol. You gals are so sweet! thanks!

After my club, I headed up to Ballston Spa because I earned another Diva Day with my upline Deb Valder! You know me by now, I love to earn free Stampin’ Up! products, who doesn’t, right? Thanks so much Deb!
Well look at all the goodies we earned and the great projects we made!! Deb designed this 31 Bag knock-off, how adorable is this?? We used the Modern Medley DSP and the Springtime Hello stamp set on all 6 cards. It was a lot of fun, and I think the pictures say it all:

april diva2

Candy dots, doilies, buttons, ribbon, DSP, shaker frames, and all the supplies to make our fun projects!

april diva3

everything coordinated so nicely!

april diva4

I just loved this little 31 bag knock-off!! Do you know a 31 Bag Rep who might like me to make some of these for her hostess gifts? Please feel free to share my contact info with anyone who might like these bags. So easy to make! The inside has nice finished edges, this bag will be perfect for gift giving- and handmade cards fit very nicely inside!!

april diva7

All six cards are unique and different- and we didn’t put any sentiments inside, perfect for when you need a card in a hurry!

Does this look like fun to you? I am thinking of turning this into a class… what do you think? I am going to crunch some numbers to see how I could offer this as a class, it will help me to know if YOU are interested in taking this class. Let me know!

I also want to let you know, we still have our $99 starter kit special- if you join my team, you get to pick $125 dollars of Stampin’ Up! products and shipping is FREE! I would love for you to join my team! My next Lynnzcrafters get together is going to be Friday April 25th and I am going to do an MDS lesson, (that’s My Digital Studio software for short). Would love to welcome you aboard!

Have a great day! Thanks for stopping by to read my blog today!

April Club Cards

How was your week? I hope you all enjoyed the spring weather, finally! I’m thrilled to finally be getting back outside and started walking again.

I had activities every night this week and finally sat down last night to plan and start preparations for my club this month- nothing like cutting it close, whew.

I did some case-ing (again), I was so inspired by some awesome cards by fellow demonstrators in our local Stampin’ Up! group.

This first card was one we made last Sunday at our team get-together. The creators were Cathy K and Mary Beth W. Didn’t they do an awesome job? I love the watercolor paper- it holds up so nicely when you use the aqua painters.

april club1

This second card was inspired by a card that the ever talented Jean Hall brought for our sharing table. I loved how she used the new woodgrain big background stamp, embossed it in early espresso, and turned it into the flower pot. So cut and easy. Know how to turn it into a flower pot? Use the biggest oval framelit to get that curved edge on the bottom, then slice off the sides at the angle you want. Pretty easy.

april club2

The third card for my April club ladies is one that I designed, I really wanted to use the Trefoil Cross (single stamp in the Annual Catalog). I pulled some Wisteria Wonder DSP from my retired stash, it really made the card complete. I love doilies, don’t you?

april club4

This card could be easily turned into confirmation, first holy communion, sympathy, wedding, thinking of you, or pastor appreciation card.

april club3

I have a busy weekend planned, how about you? Any stamping plans? Hey- I have a favor to ask you- could you let me know what handmade item you would be likely to purchase at a craft fair? I have limited time and so many ideas, but I want to narrow it down to what people might be most interested in.
Don’t forget next Saturday is the Relay for Life Fundraiser at the Saratoga Holiday Inn on corner of Rt 9 and Rt 50 in Saratoga Springs. Hope to see you there!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!

2014 Occasions Catalog, Banner Kits, Banners, Big Shot Projects, Clearance Rack, Events & Classes, Gingham Garden Sampler, Lynnzcrafters, paper crafting, Punch art, Spring Catalog, Stampin Up

Spring Banner Blast

The other night I had a small group of stampers over, (at my last team get together my team asked if I would do a spring banner class- don’t worry, I will repeat in case anyone else wants to make one too- let me know). Here’s how they did- aren’t they so sweet?? Love every single one of these, I think they are awesome!

image

Here’s Jamie with her banner, (hope I’m not spoiling the surprise by showing the photo on my blog, forgive me Jamie if this was supposed to be a secret).

banner shayna

This is Shayna holding her beautiful banner, can you see the cute doilies on the top of each letter? I think it’s just adorable with these doilies!

banner danielle

Here is Danielle and she wanted to personalize her banner by having the banner bases only in pink and yellow, and you know what- that’s what I’m all about- I WANT all my stampers/customers/friends/downline to ALWAYS create something they love- I don’t want carbon copies of mine (unless you love it and want it to be the same)- I work hard to ensure people always know they can customize their projects.

image

That being said, here is Amye- who wanted to make one just like mine (notice the elegant bird die on top of the banners- it is on the clearance rack, so I was comfortable using this die). Amye is the only one who incorporated the birds. Like I said, it should be a personal choice, I know lots of people who don’t care for birds.

banner spring

This was my banner, I cased the idea from Pinterest, from a gal named Dawn T, and I loved the Gingham Garden color pallet she used, and all the scallop flowers made from the big shot were just the perfect finishing touches.

So what do you think? Do you want to make a SPRING banner? This is a time intensive class, I will need to do some more prep so if you are interested, please contact me at LStreifert@nycap.rr.com I can only accommodate 8 people in my stamp room at a time. This would be a $20 class and would include snacks, beverages, and all the supplies to make an awesome banner. I could do another class on April 27th, a Sunday afternoon, that is my first opportunity, if that doesn’t work, let me know- I can do another one later that week.

Have an awesome day, thanks for stopping by to read my blog!

Lynnzcrafters Team Get Together was Fun!

Good Morning Stamping Friends!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend! I wanted to show you some photos of my Lynnzcrafter’s Team get together on Friday night.

We enjoyed chatting about the latest Stampin’ Up! announcements, updates and catalog launch party coming up next month.

I prepared supplies for them to make squares for an Easter Framed Art 5×7″ piece and cute bunny treat container:

Here is Amye hard at work making her 2″ squares, they came out awesome!

Amye decided on Smoky Slate textured card stock for her background, it kind of blends in with the table, but how sweet is this??

Wendy and Jamie also changed theirs up a little bit too, I LOVE it when stampers put their own spin on their projects, and make them uniquely their own.

Here is Wendy’s version of the Easter sampler. I unfortunately didn’t get a photo of Jamie’s squares, sorry!

In case you missed my original framed art piece, two of which were swap squares (the bunny by Wendy and the chick in the egg by Dania).

This cute bunny treat holder (made with the adorable mini coffee cups that I bought a ton of last fall) is a case from another demonstrator, named Susan Campfield. Isn’t is so adorable? The ladies filled their cups with Hershey’s kisses. Yum!

I wanted to end with a little update about anyone interested in joining Stampin’ Up! We all received a clarifying email the other day regarding recruiting new demonstrators. Due to clarification on the recruiting policies, I wanted to state that I will not be adding any additional incentives above and beyond the $99 Starter Kit special. I love being a demonstrator and don’t want my enthusiasm for finding friends to join my team to be interpreted as breaking the Stampin’ Up! policies. My apologies for any confusion I may have caused.

If you were thinking of joining Stampin’ Up! we do have a lot of fun, you receive at least 20% off all your orders (or 20% commission on your sales), I host a monthly stamping get together at my house, we have other stamping get togethers with my uplines, we get a free catalog in advance from others, we have an exclusive website for demonstrators only (full of images and projects other demos share), opportunity to earn free products, and much much more. I give my downline a discount on any of my classes or events, should they chose to attend. I also loan out stamps, punches, dies and materials to my downline for their crafting classes and projects.

So if that sounds like fun to you, there’s just one more week left on our $99 starter kit special. That’s right, only $99 but you pick out $150 in products, and no shipping! You also receive catalogs, order forms and business supplies to help you get started.

I would love to welcome more friends to my team, let me know if you’re interested! Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, have a wonderful Sunday!!
