Stamping Sisters are Amazing!

bdaycard6

Have you ever had a moment when you are truly surprised, and overwhelmed, and feel more blessed than you think you deserve?? These moments are very rare for me (the surprise part)… I feel blessed every day to have such amazing and loving family and friends and am especially thankful for all the new friends I have made in the years that I have been stamping. Becoming a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator was at first a “scary” decision, but my only regret was not signing up years earlier! Who knew that I would be blessed by knowing such generous, amazing people!

So, unbeknownst to me, several of my downline, my upline, and my sidelines (who I have been helping with their blogs), they decided to create a one of a kind card- it is so much more than a card- it is a work of love and art- and I will treasure it always… Karyn Morrison organized the group with directions and pieces that they completed by mail, as one of my downline was in Florida for the winter (hi Judy) and another was on the road with her hubby and their trucking business (hi Kim), and they all chipped in and gifted me not only with this beautiful card, but also two very generous gift cards that I am going to enjoy using at convention this summer. I am still blown away that you ladies did this for me, and that Karyn hand delivered it to me on Wednesday, so that April- my 50th birth-month, was truly complete. (Yes, that is the cafeteria at Schenectady County Community College- Karyn met me after work, before my part time job- teaching at SCCC).

Karyn even made a special box (thank you envelope punch board!)

The theme of the card was the 2013-15 In Colors and Owl Builder punch by Stampin’ Up!

Each segment is so unique and sweet and special and amazing, just like the ladies who created them!

I cannot thank you enough Karyn, Dania, Jamie, Kim, Judy, Amye, Jan, and Pam!! You are so talented, generous and I love you all!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!

Well, I have more to blog about- it was a busy busy weekend, but I’m saving more for tomorrow, so come back and visit me, okay? Leave a comment, would you? I love hearing from my readers! What did you work on this weekend?

Have a great day!

Pop Up Cards… (Yes, I scheduled a class!)

Hello there stamping friends!

Did you have a nice weekend? I sure did, why do the weekends go so fast? On Friday night I had my Lynnzcrafters team over for a fun night with yummy snacks and stamping fun. It was Wendy’s birthday and I was itching to make one of the “Card in a box” kind of cards that have been popping up all over. I like to call them “Pop Up” cards, here’s what I came up with:

card in a box1

I have to admit when I saw other demonstrators versions of these cards online, I thought it would be super hard. I’m happy to say I watched 1 video and then came up with a template that was easier and faster to put together. I know that it can be challenging to worry about scoring in fractions, so I made this a simple 2-4-6-8 pattern for scoring. This was Wendy’s birthday card. I decided to teach my team how to make these cards, so they could make more of them. Here’s the card we made Friday night:

I also wanted to show them some other new stamps and products, so I also prepared these projects for them too:

Remember the little coffee cups? So cute decorated for Valentine’s Day and filled with Hershey’s kisses. The other two cards feature one of our new single wood mount stamps called “Vivid Vases” it is item#133818 for only $11.95 and is a fun stamp to use various coloring techniques. Here we did the card on the left with our markers and the card on the right we used reinkers and the aqua painters. So fun.

While I was on a roll with these Pop up cards, I decided to make one for my niece Claire, who will be turning 9 years old on Tuesday. We are having a family birthday dinner tonight to celebrate her birthday and her dad’s birthday which was last Monday. I added 9 balloons since she’ll be nine years old, what do you think of this card?

I like the fun bold colors from the Designer Series Paper Birthday Basics (item #130145 price $10.95)- here I used summer starfruit, crisp cantaloupe, bermuda bay, gumball green and raspberry ripple.

you just need to be a little careful putting it in the envelope (and be sure you have LOTS of glue dots on hand).

I had posted a photo of one of these cards on my Lynnzcrafters facebook page on Saturday morning and it was very well received. People asked “when’s the class?” So I looked over my schedule and decided to offer a “Pop Up” card class on Monday February 17th from 2-4 pm. This class will feature 2 of these Pop Up cards and 2 other types of pop up cards- one using the big shot. You will learn how to make 3 types of Pop Up cards altogether, but will have two of this type of “card in a box” featured here today. One of the pop up cards will feature balloons like I have shown here, the other will feature flowers that pop up, and you can customize it for any occasion- birthday, get well, thinking of you, or just use it for a decoration. This class fee will be $15 to include materials and snacks. If you purchase $50 or more (it is Sale-a-bration you know) then the class is FREE!

RSVP via email to me at LStreifert@nycap.rr.com to reserve your seat in this class. I only have room for 8 stampers.

Yesterday I spent the day at an Ambit Energy training. Did you know I am also an Ambit Energy Consultant? I have been for over 3 years, but I got a little complacent after finding my 15 customers that helped  me earn free energy every month. I decided I wanted to “step things up” this year and am going to be looking for new customers who want to save money on their monthly energy bills and also find people who would like to learn more about the Ambit business opportunity. Contact me if you would like more info. thanks!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today! I hope you have a blessed day!

Circle Thinlits are Fun and Easy!!

Introducing Our amazing NEW Thinlits Card Dies- a set of dies that help you create cards that flip in just one step!!!

circle thinlit

You just start out with a piece of 6″ x 6″ card stock (or designer series paper) and the thinlit does all the hard work (on the magnetic platform of course!)

If you want some contrast, cut some additional coordinating colors – don’t you LOVE this Birthday Basics DSP?? I won this for free when I watched a Stampin’ Up webinar a couple months ago- I love winning things 🙂

My sister needed a bunch of birthday cards, and she came over while my friend/downline Judy was over stamping with me, it was a fun afternoon of stamping!  We cranked out 7 of these “swing” cards in less than an hour!

IMG_4457

I forgot to take a picture of the 7th one… it was a cute “Thank You” card- we used the little chevron pieces and the little word “thx” that is in a cute little cursive type font. darn… I’ll have to go make another one so I can show you- it was so cute.

We used the stamp set: Sketched Birthday- I was given this stamp set free when I went to the Stampin’ Up Leadership Conference in January- and have really gotten a LOT of mileage out of it!

If you need the circle thinlits- head over to my online store. It is item #133480 (you do NOT need to have the magnetic platform, they work just fine with the regular multi-purpose platform for the Big Shot!)

When ordering, please type in Hostess code: XPSSURQ3- you’ll see my name come up. This hostess code will be good until September 16th. Of all the online orders, if we reach $150 qualifying order, I’ll pull a name out of a hat for one winner of the hostess rewards (with a $150 total group of orders, the winner would earn $25 in free hostess products!)

There are a lot of items in the clearance rack, that would be great to get your crafting mojo going this fall!

Thanks for reading my blog- and good luck getting back in the “swing” of things… get it- swing card, swing of things. Okay, I’ll stop now 🙂

Howdy stampers!
Did you get some crafting in this weekend? I did, here is a card one of my downline (Judy) and I prepared for our monthly team meeting. We were inspired by the talented Becky Roberts.

I will be featuring this card in my July clubs as well.

I would love to know what you think of this card, leave a comment with what type of chalkboard card you would like to make.

Happy stamping!
