2nd Annual Christmas Retreat

Hi there friends, First of all, I want to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving! May your turkey be juicy and your potatoes not lumpy!

Did you notice anything new here on my blog?? How do you like my new header and buttons? The amazing Justin Krieger of jkcardsonline.com created all my new elements!! Didn’t he do a fabulous job? I feel like such a grown up! The owls were cute, but I’ve had them for over 6 years now, time for a blog and Facebook make-over. I have matching business cards and return address labels now too. I’d love to know what you think!

Last, but not least, I wanted to share some photos of my 2nd (Annual) Creative Christmas Retreat! I started this event last year, I wanted a way to include everyone on my team at an all day crafting event. They couldn’t all attend, so I invited some special friends to fill up the room. I’m thankful to have been able to have this event at the Clifton Park Elks again this year, and Mike Bloss outdid himself with delicious spread for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Friends brought some yummy snacks to share as well!

I found this terrific game online and thought this would be perfect for the ladies to play throughout the day and earn some raffle tickets!

This area is the lending library, I brought dozens of my stamps, punches, dies, big shots, and paper cutters.

This ballroom is huge, and provided us with ample space for crafting all day!

You can see Kathy and Amye hard at work helping me to set up each spot.

My fabulous helpers Kathy, Amye, and Patty helped me set the room up so everyone had a nice work area and their Stampin’ Up! products and gifts were waiting for them at their spot. Everyone received this canvas zippered tote bag, ceramic mug, Let it Snow embellishment kit, Jingle Bells, Snowflake Sequins, and Snowfall Accents Puff Paint! Then the items inside the snowman gift bag were all the pre-cut paper supplies they used to assemble my 8 Make and Take projects! The hot cocoa here was for one of the M&Ts.

we had this cute little hot cocoa station and the girls were able to use their own mug that was part of their gift.

Could you guess what my theme was? Let it snow… How cute is this little snowman sign?

I feel so blessed that my team and friends from near and far were able to come together for this day. My friend Jacki came all the way from New Hampshire! And Nancy, Addie and Susan are my bingo regulars, so happy they could join us!

Nellie came all the way from Saugerties! Sue and Theresa came from Queensbury! And Amye didn’t have far to travel, but she came early and stayed late to help me with set up and clean up! Thanks friend!

Three of these ladies (Lisa, Jess and Nicole) came from Johnstown. I’m so touched that so many traveled a great distance to come to this event! Look at those sharp Ott lights Cindy and Sheila brought, cool right?

Laurie came over last week to help me punch and die cut almost everything we needed for all the M&Ts. Patty also helped with set up and clean up. Thanks friends. Molly and Jill made some gorgeous cards!

Pam and Elizabeth came from the North Country and they joined Annette, Mandy and Linda at this table.

MaryBeth helped me out by cutting out all the candy canes we needed for a M&T, thanks MB! Kathy is always there for me, every event, she is my right arm and such a treasured friend, thanks Kath!  Gail and Tiffany joined them here.

Last but not least, these four friends joined us for the first time, many thanks Barb, Chelsea, Jen and Bobbi for attending!

Altogether we had 30 people come to stamp for the day, I did have two who weren’t able to make it and I’m still working on their projects for them… hopefully I’ll get a chance to finish them this weekend.

I used all the hostess rewards from placing all the retreat orders and got 5 raffle bundles and they were able to put their tickets in whatever bag they wanted.

My friend Amye made these cute mugs, can you see what it says? “Sip, stamp, repeat”. She used her cricket and vinyl to make these. Thank you so much for donating two of your mugs to the raffle!

Ready to see the projects everyone made?

The gold pizza Box featuring Perfectly Plaid bundle, this can hold a small gift, jewelry, candy or even a gift card.

Some delicious Ghirardelli Hot Cocoa and stick candy canes.

Some cool mint tic-tacs

This beautiful ice skate card could easily be turned into a gift card holder as well.

This little snow globe shaker card was the only die cutting the ladies needed to get up to cut on their own… The Night Before Christmas Memories and More card pack with envelopes was the base of the card.

The mini curvy keepsakes dies are amazing, I saw this cute snowman on Pinterest and couldn’t believe how easy it was to make!

The copper tea tins hold more than tea- you can fit some homemade chex mix, fudge, cookies, hot cocoa, tea bags, or even a gift card in here!

Last but not least, this little pillow box was a breeze to put together, the heart is from the dog punch, and then the Christmas cups of cheer dies made the perfect snowman cup. This held some marshmellows and could fit another gift card.

Next time I’ll share all the winners of the prizes and the gifts I gave everyone throughout the day, I’ve got to run and get some of my Thanksgiving meal prep going here.

Thank you for visiting my blog today! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Love,
Lynn

2017-18 Annual Catalog, BOGO, card making, Kids crafts, New Catalog Launch, New In-Colors, Punch art, scrapbooking, Stampin Up, Stampin' Up! Online Ordering Hostess Code, Stamps on Sale

It’s BOGO Time!!

Hi everyone!

I’m thrilled to announce that my team and I are planning our next Lynnzcrafters BOGO (Buy One Get One) free Sale of our Retired Stampin’ Up! products!

Mark your calendar- it is on Saturday June 17th from 9 am to Noon

Location: Inside the Burnt Hills United Methodist Church- 816 Route 50, Burnt Hills, NY 12027 (this is across from Gil’s Garage).

There will be 7 Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators selling their retired Stampin’ Up! products: stamps, ink pads, ink refills, punches, sizzix dies, card stock, designer series paper, 12×12″ scrapbooking supplies, project life by Stampin’ Up!, ribbons, buttons, embellishments, tools and much more!!

Our BOGO sale is different from others, here’s how it works:

  • You shop around the room (might want to bring a canvas tote/shopping bag) and pick out all the items you want to buy.
  • You go to the check out counter, where the fabulous Amye will calculate your total and give you a tracking sheet and order form.
  • You go to the catalog table and fill out the order form and pick out all new products from the 2017-18 Annual Catalog as you “free” items.
  • Go back to checkout and Amye will collect your payment and confirm your order (we will add tax and shipping on just the “new”).
  • Anyone living outside the immediate Burnt Hills or Glenville area will have their items shipped directly to them (this is a $6.95 shipping charge, but so worth it to get your orders quickly).
  • Free catalog to anyone who spends at least $25 at our sale that day.
  • Free gift (choice of items donated by the demonstrators in the sale- at the “gift table” such as cards, ribbons, 3D objects, etc) for paying in cash (this really helps us at the end of the day to divide up the orders)… but we of course accept checks and credit cards as well!
  • Free gift (choice from gift table) for orders over $50

On behalf of Amye, Tiffany, Laurie, Sharon, Brigid, Valerie and myself- we thank you for sharing our event, telling all your crafty friends, and your wanna-be crafty friends. Hey- bring the kids, since it’s almost summer break, they’ll need some Arts and Crafts goodies to keep them busy once school’s out.

Hope to see you on June 17th!

thanks so much and have a great day!

Creative Circle Design Team- Never Ending Cube!

img_4251

Hello there Crafty Friends!

Today we are showcasing the amazing project- The Never Ending Cube, designed by our awesome leader- Liz Holloway! And, today we welcome our newest Designer- Kate Creasey, who is a real pro with her Silhouette machine (I am still learning all the features of my machine). Welcome Kate! So glad you joined our group!

Today’s project is the “Never-Ending Cube”, which uses 8 cubes that are 2″x 2″.  Liz sent all of us a copy of the file for our Silhouette machines, as well as a video on how to assemble it. I used clear packing tape to put my cube together, as my duct tape was hot pink and I was afraid it would be visible on the edges. I decided early on that I wanted my cube to feature all our new Christmas stamp sets, and boy-it was so much fun! This is my first time making a never-ending cube, and let me tell you- the possibilities are endless! I can see using photos to make this into a wonderful photo cube (great gift idea!). Don’t have a Silhouette? No problem, there is a PDF file and you can easily cut them by hand. Let me know if you would like this pattern, I am able to give it away to customers who place a $20 order (or more) in my online store this month. Just remember to use Hostess Code:  KXTUSMXP (and please don’t click “No contact” so I will know who to email the pattern to!) Let me know if you have any questions. Without further ado, here is my version of the Never-Ending Cube.

We Create Blog Hop- July 2016

WCBH2016

Hello Everyone- thanks so much for stopping by today, and Happy July 1st! Hope you have some fun plans for the holiday weekend! Here we are with another awesome blog hop featuring Stampin’ Up! products… we offer a simple card or project, and then a “Stepped-Up” version for you. We hope this blog hop helps you see the possibilities (both plain and simple as well as fancy!)

First up is my simple card featuring the new stamp set called Live, Love, Grow (item # 141905) I pared this with a garden green cardstock base, daffodil delight for the mat, then a piece of Affectionately Yours DSP and whisper white for the top layer. I used memento black ink for stamping, then Sahara sand, garden green and cucumber crush ink pads for the sand and succulents.

For the “Stepped- Up” version, I added just a few enhancements- rounded corners, watercolor background soft sky, added new cucumber crush ribbon and from the tree builder punch the small pink flower.

These succulents were featured on the Stampin’ Up! blog on July 20, 2015 by the über talented Allison Okamitsu (a demonstrator and Artisan team member from Canada). My team had asked if we could make them and it took me a little while to gather the supplies and figure it out. Of course now one of the punches and one of the dies that Allison used is retired, that’s why I was happy to try to figure out if current product could be used to make the succulents.

Our new ovals framelits are perfect for this lone cactus… The little teacup was given to me by one of my team members, thanks Brigid it looks great! Gorgeous grunge stamp set was used with our craft white ink pad to give the cactus some texture and dimension. I squirted 1/2 a Styrofoam ball with my spritzer  (water and cucumber crush reinker).

I had a little broken pot so I played around with paper to fit one single succulent inside. What do you think?

Can you tell how much I love green? LOL. When I was on vacation last week, I almost bought a succulent arrangement in a wooden framed rectangle, it was adorable- I’m going to try to make one, I’ll keep you posted.

Now it’s time to go check out the rest of the creative team… click the “next” button below to go see what the amazing Kimberley has ready for us…. Don’t forget to leave us a comment- we love to know what you think about our creations.

Christmas Joy! Creative Inking Blog Hop!

creative hop

Welcome to another month of stamping inspiration from a talented group of ladies! I can’t wait to see what my fellow demonstrators have to offer us this month!  You know I always have a hard time picking just one project to share with you on the hop. So for our “Christmas Joy” theme, I decided to show you what my Make and Take project was for my team retreat this weekend in beautiful Lake Luzerne, NY (the Adirondacks of Upstate New York).

True story- yesterday there was a mini snow squall and we actually had snow on the ground… luckily it melted within an hour! I’m soooo not ready for the real stuff. But hopefully this cute guy will suffice- this would be enough snow for me!

IMG_7427

I was inspired by the snowman on the Stampin’ Up! blog last winter, never had a chance to make him! One of my downline requested we learn how to make him, so I figured it out and prepped it for everyone to make on our 4th Lynnzcrafters Team Crafty Girls Get-Away.

IMG_7432

Want to know how to make him yourself?

make 8 whisper white circles in the following three sizes: 1 3/4″, 2″, and 2 1/2″. You will trim off the bottom 1/4″ to make them all flat. Score in the middle and fold in half. Then glue backs together (like a honeycomb) and glue to make a completely closed “snowball”. The hat is made with designer series paper: the strip is 1 1/2″ x 5″ and the two circles are 1 1/4″ and 2″.

Although glue dots held him together okay, it wasn’t sturdy enough, so I inserted a barbarque skewer up through all three snowballs and about 3/4″ above the top ball- this is so the top hat can be secured to the top of the snowman.

The then nose and two arms are from the bird builder punch and his eyes are from the owl builder punch. Then just string your greeting from a piece of linen thread and tie onto his arms.

Well, some of my team had some other ideas- look what additions they came up with:

IMG_7639

Do you like the touch of holly and the red bird on his hat? Those are not Stampin’ Up! products, but a cute additional touch- thanks Judy!

IMG_7540

Sorry this one isn’t a good quality photo- but can you see how Tiffany used our red pom-pom trim as his scarf? And she put the word “peace” on instead of “Noel”. Isn’t Frosty just adorable? You can make it too- and what a fun project to do with the kids!

We also worked on some other Christmas projects on our retreat:

IMG_7644

This was Amye’s Make-and-Take for each one of us… isn’t this Clean And Simple technique so sweet?? This designer series paper is amazing! I’m sure it’s going to be a top seller from this Holiday Catalog!

IMG_7648

Now let’s talk about STAMPS! When I started planning for this blog post I knew that I had my Frosty the Snowman project and was hoping for more fun and inspiring cards and 3D items to show you. Look at this gorgeous card that Laurie prepared for our Make-and-Take! Don’t you just love the pine trees in this new set called Wonderland? We stamped in Smokey Slate, Tip-Top-Taupe and in Craft White, embossed in White and with Dazzling Details (glitter) on the white pines. Love this card so much!

We did so much stamping, crafting and creating all weekend long, it was hard to pack up and come home, our mojo was really flowing! I took pictures of each stamper with all her creations, but I don’t want to spoil any surprises (a lot of gifts were created this weekend). I’ll be sure to post when the coast is clear for sure.

Pretty Paper Beads by Stampin’ Up!

Hi there Stamping Friends! Did you like the blog hop we did yesterday? I hope you had a chance to check out the talent in the group… I know I have a few new must haves (stamp sets) after seeing their awesome work.

Once again I have been running short on time to blog about my own cards and work right now, hope to catch up this weekend- I have many new cards and projects to show you. For today, I wanted to show you the work of an amazing concept artist at Stampin’ Up! This content is from the Stampin’ Up! blog, and I wasn’t sure if you regularly checked it out or not, this is such a cute project- paper beads!! Read on and be amazed with Cindy’s gorgeous work:

Did you ever roll paper beads with toothpicks when you were a kid? I just rediscovered this fun, little craft—and making them is kind of addictive.

Just wrap a long, triangular piece of paper around a wooden skewer until you have a bead. Adhere the tail-end of the paper to the bead using a little Multipurpose Liquid Glue, then cover the bead using a thin coat of Mod Podge. Let your bead dry.

After making a few dozen of these little cuties I started to think of Easter eggs . . . and one of our new occasions catalog stamp sets—For Peep’s Sake, item # 138557—came to mind.

peep1

I used the Ornate Tag Topper Punch (item # 137416) on the top and bottom of this Easter favor to create fancy edges.

peep2

To make the beads, I used Painted Blooms Designer Series Paper (item # 137784),Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper (item # 138633), and the Rich Razzleberry designs from the Brights Backgrounds Designer Series Paper Stacks(item # 130134).

Beginning at the top of a sheet of 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper, score every inch on one side; on the opposite side, begin 1/2″ from the top and score every inch. Draw diagonal lines between the staggered score lines to create triangles.

??????????

The beads don’t have to be rolled up perfectly; their irregular look is part of their charm!

peep5

??????????

When my friend, Bonnie, saw my paper beads drying, she said that they reminded her of an insect collection. My immediate thought was: butterflies!

??????????

There are many ways to make paper beads from Designer Series Paper. Just do an Internet search for “paper bead templates” and you’ll find plenty! P.S. If you use elastic cord to thread your beads, put a dot of Crystal Effects (item # 101055) on the knot and allow it to dry. That will help it stay secure.

Have fun!

Cindy B.  Sr. Staff Writer at Stampin’ Up!

Well what did you think?? Don’t you want to go try it now? I would love to see your work- if you want to share any of your creations with me, I’d love to see them! Have a wonderful Saturday! Thanks for stopping by today!

Paper Snowmen

SNOW DAY??? Have fun….

Hi friends, so I wanted to explain about my little faux pas… you see I often try to create my blog posts on the weekends when I have a bit more time to write, edit, take photos, and upload to wordpress here. I often schedule blog posts in advance… and well- just wanted you to know the wish list post from last night about 10 pm I meant to schedule it for 7 am… not sure how I messed that up, but well, I wanted you to know that I make mistakes too.. sorry! anyway, on to today’s post, hope you have time to create this cute little snowman.

This was an awesome post from the Stampin’ Up! blog, I’ve been under the weather and haven’t really created anything new, need to get my club cards prepped, hope to do so tonight. I also still owe you photos of my grab bag from last weekend, will take those later too. Enjoy!!

Remember our 3D paper pumpkin project from a few weeks ago? Now you can create fun paper snowmen using the same technique!

Paper Snowmen1

One snowman takes about thirty minutes to make—and they’re super-easy to put together. Make one for Christmas . . . then change his hat and get him ready for Valentine’s Day!

Paper Snowmen2

You could also put these snowmen to work as cute package toppers or place card holders for table settings. Or gather together your kids or grandkids together for a fun little party making snowmen families to decorate your home.

Create the hat using a 2-1/4″ circle, a 1-1/2″ circle, and 1-1/2″ x 5″ strip of cardstock or Designer Series Paper. Make the snowman’s body using 2-3/4″, 2-1/4″, and 1-7/8″ circles (or whatever size you wish)! Use the Owl Punch for eyes and the Bird Punch to make the nose and mouth. Easy!

October Club Projects…

Good morning friends, how are you? I have missed blogging, it has been a very busy week and I was knocked down a couple days with a virus, all I could accomplish was resting on the couch and watched some shows on my DVR…. Cedar Cove, Parenthood, and Big Bang, all caught up. Good thing I was so productive last weekend getting ready for club and my 6th Annual Columbus Day Stamp-a-Stack. Want to see some projects?  Let me know which one is your favorite, I love to hear from YOU!

First up is a card that I cased (copy and share everything) – the minute I saw this punch art turkey, I knew I had to case it. Thanks to Aly S. for the inspiration! Love this card, and the sentiment from “Mingle all the way” fits perfectly, right?? If you’re not in my club, and would like one of these cards, I am taking orders, and can mail them to you (or deliver if local) in plenty of time for Thanksgiving. Also, can do custom Halloween cards too, it’s not too late. $3.50 if mailing or $3 each for local customers. Let me know what you think. thanks.

Next up is a stamp set I have used a few times, but I can’t get enough of the cardinal, so I changed this one up, featured these framelits before I knew they were a “weekly deal”- would you like to save money? Our weekly deals are 25% off original price and good for 7 days only, they launch every Tuesday morning and expire every Monday night at midnight MT.

Card #3 for club members this month is this card, I really wanted to feature the new stars, can you believe I hadn’t made a card with them yet??

Last but not least, yes 4 projects this month, is this cute santa box, case from Pinterest (by Lynn Starzl)- I love all the inspiration from Pinterest, don’t you?

So that’s it for today, whew, that was a lot of typing… I will post my 7 cards from my 6th Annual Columbus Day Stamp a Stack later this week, need to go finish getting ready.

Hope you all are enjoying this beautiful weekend! Thank you so very much for stopping by my blog today! Would love to hear from you!!
