Operation Jordan’s Graduation Party- a Great Success!

Many of you know that my niece Jordan is like a daughter to me. From the time she was born we had a special bond. My first niece, and with my brother and sister-in-law in the restaurant business, I was blessed to be able to have her on the weekends when they worked, along with her other Aunts too, and my parents during the work week, this kid never went to daycare. Well, she just graduated from high school last month and we just had her big Graduation party yesterday. They say it takes a village to raise a child, it was so true for this kid- and for her party!

Here she is:

Here are just a few highlights (with the crafty element) that I thought you’d appreciate: My sister Sue created these yummy chocolate brownies and chocolate cupcakes with a graduation cap topper! How cute are these???

Here are some of the decorations I made for the party and we had a Project Life station where guests could jot Jordan a “Note or a Quote” and then we had a Photo Booth – I saved room in the back of her album for a graduation section and we’ll insert all the notes from people with their photos.

Well I took over 100 photos, I don’t think you want to see all of them, plus I have to get ready for work! I was so tired last night that I took a shower and went right to bed!

Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog today! More tomorrow about my July Club projects!

Happy Monday!

Awesome Weekend, How was Yours?

Hi Friends!

Did you have a happy 4th of July weekend? Mine was fun-filled and busy! My nephew Ethan informed me that it was time for a sleep-over! I love that kid, and how sentimental he is. I love that they love to spend time with me, and I treasure family time!! Here’s some of the fun we had:

IMG_9633

We went for a hike… Unfortunately the trail was full of mud and bugs which didn’t thrill these two).

IMG_9636

They helped me with errands, and we got the graduation supplies for my niece Jordan’s party coming up, and needed a sweet treat- have you tried Sweet Frog? Yummo!!

IMG_9641

Love the Glenville Sports-Plex right near us, we had the bumper cars to ourselves!

IMG_9644

Later Claire helped me create this awesome card holder for Jordan’s party. Stampin’ Up! Cherry Cobbler baker’s twine to the rescue- used a whole package to make this tassle. Hot glued the top on a box that I covered in Basic Black cardstock.

IMG_9651

My sister had a delicious BBQ… corn on the cob, burgers, dogs, fruit salad, pasta salad, and yummy treats for dessert.

IMG_9652

In addition to brownies and cherry pie- she also made these amazing patriotic red/white/blue strawberries. They were delicious!!

IMG_9656

The ribbon came in last week and I was determined to get that all cut, wrapped and bagged up. Tried cutting ribbon in the living room while watching a show on my DVR, but that wasn’t a good set up. Moved to the dining room table, spread out and was able to finish all the ribbon shares yesterday! I sent an email to everyone in the ribbon share- hope to meet up with people this week and get you all your new goodies!  THANKS again to all of you who participated!

I also organized my current versus retired stamps in my craft room, and worked on a Project Life album, ordered 200 more photos for the big graduation party!

I’m gearing up for my Paper Pumpkin subscribers party, my NEW clubs, Jordan’s graduation party (and birthday this week too!), and I haven’t even started my convention swaps yet! I have a feeling I’ll be bringing them with me on the plane at this rate.

Well, that’s all for now- I will be placing an order this week, if you need anything let me know!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today- I wish you all a very Happy Monday!!

Lynn

Paper Pumpkin, Project Life, Stampin Up

How Did it Get to be May already??

Wowza…. do you ever wonder how time seems to fly by so fast?? The month of April just whizzed by in a whirl for me. My schedule has been so busy and I have to admit- I forgot to take pictures at the Paper Pumpkin Party last night… so sorry! I’m sure you would love to see the cards, boxes, works of art and fun items everyone came up with. I did actually take 1 photo, but forgot to re-take it when Tatiana finished her card. Silly me. I promise to take photos next time for sure. I let each gal pick out some fabric, ribbon and embellishments (I had purchased most from the clearance rack). I think they enjoyed looking at my new catalog as much as making things. They all seem excited to come in 2 weeks for my new catalog launch party, I’m super excited and hope to finish my Project Life album by then to show them.

Did you know that Stampin’ Up! launched a new collaboration with Becky Higgins and her Project Life scrapbooking company today?  Yes siree Bob, today is May 1st and you can now purchase some of these amazing products! Mine arrived the other day and I am hoping to work on my photos this weekend.

If you are new to Project Life, here are a few tips to help get you started recording your life from the amazing concept artist named Arika B. at Stampin’ Up!

Take photos with intention. What are the things that you want to remember? If you made something awesome for dinner . . . take a picture of it. Did you have a fun girls’ night out? Take a picture! Did you go for a walk with a beautiful sunset? Take a picture. We all know to take photos of the big, important events in our lives, but I think the simple moments in our lives are just as meaningful and important to document.

project-life-post-2picture1

Decide which approach works best for you. Do you want to record your life on a weekly basis, on a monthly basis, or just whenever? There is no right or wrong way to do this. I like working on a monthly basis and adding inserts when I need to, but that might not work for you. Play around and have fun finding out what makes this process of recording your life the easiest and most enjoyable for you.

project-life-post-2picture2

Jot down the things you want to remember. Carry a notebook in your purse, write ideas in your phone, or write in a journal at the end of the day. When you come across a quote that moves you . . . write it down. When your kid says or does something that you don’t want to forget . . . write it down. If you had a great day . . . write it down. This makes it so much easier when you want to add journaling to your pages.

project-life-post-2picture3

Save things from your life to include in your album. A tag from your shopping spree, a bag from your favorite boutique that you can cut down to fit into a pocket, happy mail, a birthday card, a ticket stub from a good movie—there are so many fun ways to include bits and pieces from your life.

project-life-post-2picture6

Set aside time to work on your pages. Make it a priority in your busy life to sit down and get your memories written down and your photos printed off. Doing tasks in chunks is easier than trying to do everything in a big marathon session. Take an hour to go through photos and print them off. Later, sit down for another hour to write down memories onto cards and slip things into page protectors. Take another hour or 30 minutes to play around with embellishing and getting creative if that’s what makes you happy. Again, there is no right or wrong way to do this. Just have fun, and in the end you will have something that you and your family will cherish forever!

A: You’ll see Card Collections, Accessory Packs, Albums, Photo Pocket Pages, tools, other accessories, and Stamps, of course!

Q: Are the card designs the same as what we can buy in the stores?

A: Nope! We have worked with Stampin’ Up! to design all new products that are super fun and a perfect match to their existing color lines which will make coordination a breeze. Some of the Photo Pocket Page designs are the same and some are different than what we currently offer.

A: Beginning May 1st, you can purchase products directly through a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator (ummm, hello- that’s ME!)

Q: Why order through a demonstrator?

A: Stampin’ Up! has a worldwide demonstrator base who understand their products better than anyone. Q: Where do I learn about becoming a demonstrator?

A: Ask me… I’m happy to help YOU.

Q: How do I sign up to become a demonstrator so I can sell Project Life myself and make money doing it?
