2nd Annual Christmas Retreat

Hi there friends, First of all, I want to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving! May your turkey be juicy and your potatoes not lumpy!

Did you notice anything new here on my blog?? How do you like my new header and buttons? The amazing Justin Krieger of jkcardsonline.com created all my new elements!! Didn’t he do a fabulous job? I feel like such a grown up! The owls were cute, but I’ve had them for over 6 years now, time for a blog and Facebook make-over. I have matching business cards and return address labels now too. I’d love to know what you think!

Last, but not least, I wanted to share some photos of my 2nd (Annual) Creative Christmas Retreat! I started this event last year, I wanted a way to include everyone on my team at an all day crafting event. They couldn’t all attend, so I invited some special friends to fill up the room. I’m thankful to have been able to have this event at the Clifton Park Elks again this year, and Mike Bloss outdid himself with delicious spread for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Friends brought some yummy snacks to share as well!

I found this terrific game online and thought this would be perfect for the ladies to play throughout the day and earn some raffle tickets!

This area is the lending library, I brought dozens of my stamps, punches, dies, big shots, and paper cutters.

This ballroom is huge, and provided us with ample space for crafting all day!

You can see Kathy and Amye hard at work helping me to set up each spot.

My fabulous helpers Kathy, Amye, and Patty helped me set the room up so everyone had a nice work area and their Stampin’ Up! products and gifts were waiting for them at their spot. Everyone received this canvas zippered tote bag, ceramic mug, Let it Snow embellishment kit, Jingle Bells, Snowflake Sequins, and Snowfall Accents Puff Paint! Then the items inside the snowman gift bag were all the pre-cut paper supplies they used to assemble my 8 Make and Take projects! The hot cocoa here was for one of the M&Ts.

we had this cute little hot cocoa station and the girls were able to use their own mug that was part of their gift.

Could you guess what my theme was? Let it snow… How cute is this little snowman sign?

I feel so blessed that my team and friends from near and far were able to come together for this day. My friend Jacki came all the way from New Hampshire! And Nancy, Addie and Susan are my bingo regulars, so happy they could join us!

Nellie came all the way from Saugerties! Sue and Theresa came from Queensbury! And Amye didn’t have far to travel, but she came early and stayed late to help me with set up and clean up! Thanks friend!

Three of these ladies (Lisa, Jess and Nicole) came from Johnstown. I’m so touched that so many traveled a great distance to come to this event! Look at those sharp Ott lights Cindy and Sheila brought, cool right?

Laurie came over last week to help me punch and die cut almost everything we needed for all the M&Ts. Patty also helped with set up and clean up. Thanks friends. Molly and Jill made some gorgeous cards!

Pam and Elizabeth came from the North Country and they joined Annette, Mandy and Linda at this table.

MaryBeth helped me out by cutting out all the candy canes we needed for a M&T, thanks MB! Kathy is always there for me, every event, she is my right arm and such a treasured friend, thanks Kath!  Gail and Tiffany joined them here.

Last but not least, these four friends joined us for the first time, many thanks Barb, Chelsea, Jen and Bobbi for attending!

Altogether we had 30 people come to stamp for the day, I did have two who weren’t able to make it and I’m still working on their projects for them… hopefully I’ll get a chance to finish them this weekend.

I used all the hostess rewards from placing all the retreat orders and got 5 raffle bundles and they were able to put their tickets in whatever bag they wanted.

My friend Amye made these cute mugs, can you see what it says? “Sip, stamp, repeat”. She used her cricket and vinyl to make these. Thank you so much for donating two of your mugs to the raffle!

Ready to see the projects everyone made?

The gold pizza Box featuring Perfectly Plaid bundle, this can hold a small gift, jewelry, candy or even a gift card.

Some delicious Ghirardelli Hot Cocoa and stick candy canes.

Some cool mint tic-tacs

This beautiful ice skate card could easily be turned into a gift card holder as well.

This little snow globe shaker card was the only die cutting the ladies needed to get up to cut on their own… The Night Before Christmas Memories and More card pack with envelopes was the base of the card.

The mini curvy keepsakes dies are amazing, I saw this cute snowman on Pinterest and couldn’t believe how easy it was to make!

The copper tea tins hold more than tea- you can fit some homemade chex mix, fudge, cookies, hot cocoa, tea bags, or even a gift card in here!

Last but not least, this little pillow box was a breeze to put together, the heart is from the dog punch, and then the Christmas cups of cheer dies made the perfect snowman cup. This held some marshmellows and could fit another gift card.

Next time I’ll share all the winners of the prizes and the gifts I gave everyone throughout the day, I’ve got to run and get some of my Thanksgiving meal prep going here.

Thank you for visiting my blog today! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Love,
Lynn

Snow Day! (& Facebook Live Reminder) and Bingo!

Well it certainly was predicted that we would get a lot of snow, in my area we got about 13 inches of snow but as I write this it is now turned to sleet and freezing rain. So glad this big storm hit on a long weekend and I have been hunkered down at home doing lots of crafts. I enrolled in an online creative convention which I have done before but it’s the first time I actually got to sit down and do the projects live, and I played online virtual bingo last night!

©️Stampin’ Up!

This is a photo of a card I made last month and mailed in a card swap I participated in, featuring three new items from our Saleabration catalog. I paired the botanical butterfly DSP and the grapefruit grove foil sheets with the sentiment from Part of My Story new cling stamp set. I shared this card last night in our online group as my #onlinecreativeconvention share. What do you think?

Yesterday was national popcorn day so I had some of this delicious popcorn, bonus it is buy one get one free at Price chopper! It was so fun learning from Erica how to do an online bingo event. I have a very popular monthly stamping bingo night, but I have never played online before and now the wheels and ideas are churning. Would you be interested in playing online bingo with me? Leave me a comment I may consider it if there is enough interest.

Speaking of bingo, Friday night was my live bingo event held up in Burnt Hills. The theme was pajama party and I found adorable plates online that had pajamas and bunny slippers. Everyone who attended got a package of our rhinestone gems as well as a sleep mask, you can see some of the girls had them on as a headband.

You can see most of the winners above but I forgot to take two photos, my friend Patty won the shopping spree and earned $135 to apply to her order that night with me, and my friend Wendy won the grand prize drawing for a brand new Stamparatus and carrying case! Congratulations to all the winners! All of the money that I gathered from registrations for everyone who attended was used for all of the prizes, bundles, giveaways, room rental, and paper products.

We had five projects and played six games of bingo. I tried something new and had one of the girls at each table is a demonstrator on my team and they were in charge of making sure everyone used the new ink pads and cling mount stamps appropriately, They also made sure the stamps were taken off the blocks before we rotated as one of the new aspects of our cleaning mount stamps is that they can’t stay on the black for very long or they stick they also made sure the stamps were taken off the blocks before we rotated as one of the new aspects of our cling mount stamps is that they can’t stay on the block for very long or they stick.

And I have to give a huge shout out to several people: first of all my deep thanks to Nancy and Laurie who came over and help me prep on Wednesday night. And huge thanks and kudos to several people: Laurie and Kathy who came early to help me set up, Wendy, Laurie, Sheila, Kathy, and MaryBeth for running the tables for me and also with Brigid, they all helped with cleanup too.

This bingo event takes approximately 15–20 hours to plan, prep, and hold the event. It is a lot of work but I do it because my friends love it so much and asked me to do this every month. I am humbled and blessed because of all their support …. bonus- this event is really what has helped me turn my business around and help me achieve the Stampin Up incentive trips. I am currently working hard to earn the Maui trip in the summer of 2020. Thank you for all of you who have joined my team and/or attended a class/club/event or ordered from me it is all helping and I am deeply grateful for you all!

©️Stampin’ Up

These were the five projects that we made at bingo, the Valentine’s Day card was easily switched up if they use the reverse side of the DSP and change the greeting it was a card that said Wishing you a lovely day.

Well I have one more announcement I would like to share with you: today at noon (EST) Sunday, January 20, I will be having my first Facebook live event on my Lynnzcrafters Facebook page. I sure would love to have you hop on and join us, I am doing some giveaways and will be doing a Stampin’ Up! Inspiration and going over some tips. I am hoping the live event will be between 30–45 minutes. This will be a test to see if people like a live event and I may be able to do this every week. Let me know what you think.

I hope you all have a safe day and stay warm and cozy inside! I’m thankful that all my family is off today and no one has to drive on these roads. We have a state of emergency right now and nonessential staff are not allowed to be out driving, hopefully later today my dear old dad will be able to come plow my driveway. 🙏🏻

Thanks so much for choosing me as your demonstrator, I appreciate YOU!

Bingo Fun and Give-Away!

Hi everyone, how are you? I was teased last night at my monthly bingo night that I never post the pictures of this fun event. So I wanted to create a post for you to show you the projects that we made, and the prizes that were given away. Stampin’ bingo is a super fun event!

There is a lot of time, preparation, and set up that goes into my monthly bingo event. In order to fit 14 ladies comfortably I put one table in my living room and the rest fit at my dining room table. I sit in the archway between the two rooms as I call out the bingo.

My customers really enjoy this fun night out, and typically fill up the next month’s Bingo as I give them first dibs on the seats for the next month.

Here are the prizes that I purchased with their $20 registration fee that is paid in advance:

There are seven bundles valued between $30 – $40 sometimes one is even a little bit above that. We play six games of bingo and the winner of each round picks one of the prizes. Then the seventh bundle is for the raffle tickets, they earn a raffle ticket for attending, bringing a snack/beverage to share, placing an order with me that night, booking their own party/class, and if there is a bingo tie, the person who did not win the bingo/off as well as anyone who wins another game of bingo then they receive extra raffle tickets. Last night we had three games were there were ties so we had to have a playoff/bingo off. And we also had two duplicate winners. Hope that makes sense.

Here are the make and take projects that we did last night. I was so excited to show them these adorable little copper tea tins in the whole teatime suite.

The three little note cards also included the extra DSP, so everyone got six swatches of this beautiful paper. It may be hard to see but I also use the copper stickers and the colorful paper stickers from the memories and more collection. I also included three organic green tea bags. This is a perfect little gift or inspiration piece for your craft room.

One of the cards I featured was a slight case from one of our make and takes at Onstage. I wanted to feature the stained glass Vellum and the new blends. Unfortunately the new colors are not available yet but I was lucky to get pineapple punch and lovely lipstick Onstage. I took pictures of the ladies’ cards when they were finished, as everyone used different color schemes and there were two different square patterns in the pack … and as you can see no two cards are alike. Great job everyone!

Here are the winners of the six games of bingo. And the last bundle was drawn at the end of the night and this artistic expressions bundle is going out to Susan B. (Nancy said she is going to be in touch with you about getting this to you so you will have your prize.)

I forgot to take pictures of the food table, but once again these ladies did an amazing job of bringing some yummy snacks, a sign up in advance so that we don’t have duplicates. We had a veggie tray, fresh fruit, hummus and pita, cookies, delicious veggie pizza, amazing lemon blueberry cake, nuts, chips and salsa, chips and dip, popcorn, cheese and crackers, beer and wine. It was a smorgasbord.

I am so very thankful that these ladies love my monthly bingo event, thank you so much for your support!

Don’t forget that I am doing a comment contest, for everyone who leave me a comment on one of my blog post this month will be entered in a drawing to win this great little bundle of goodies. The gold ribbon and the metallic doilies are now retired. But the mini notecards are a new size in our catalog that you will enjoy. Just leave me a comment and be sure to include the hashtag #lynnzcrafters

Thank you so much for reading this post today I hope you have a wonderful day!

Creative Inking Spooky Fun!

creative hop

Hi there friends,

Life has sure thrown my family and I some major curve balls… It has been an emotional roller coaster and to think one month ago today my mother went to the hospital because she was feeling nauseous and had back pain. It is scary to realize that she is filled with cancer. Her hospital bed arrived yesterday, and we are so thankful that her nursing services, home health aide and other hospice services have begun. Then, with my sister-in-law’s recent hospitalization with a severe Crohn’s flair-up, I have not had much energy or time for stamping. Thank you for those who have contacted me and are keeping in touch. We appreciate your kind words, prayers and sweet gestures. So, although I haven’t created recently, I didn’t want to miss another blog hop with these wonderful ladies, and I remembered my swap card I made for a recent swap by mail which fit the theme “Spooky Fun”! I hope you enjoy my card.

I had fun watercoloring our shimmer white paper with old olive reinker on the bottom, and smoky slate on the top of the piece. Then I stamped the haunted house from “Halloween Scares”  in memento black ink when it was bone dry. I colored in the windows and doors with a Stampin’ Marker.

I also used a scrap of the Shimmer white for my vampire and “headstone” with the greeting from the stamp set “Suite Seasons”. I love how the elegant eggplant is so deep and rich, and goes well with the pumpkin pie, old olive and delightful dijon markers to color in each word on the stamp. The new cookie cutter punch made this a breeze to pop out.

You can see that I added a witch and some ghosts, this time I used the stamp set “Spooky Fun” to pull in the other elements.

You can’t forget to decorate the inside- I made a mummy (From “Cookie Cutter Halloween”) and added bats and the saying from “Spooky Fun” .

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today- if you need to see the supplies I used, scroll all the way to the bottom of this post.

Also, I am organizing a fund raiser for my sister-in-law Kathy, you can read more about it here: https://www.gofundme.com/kathystreifert

Creative Inking Blog Hop- Saying Goodbye

creative hop

Hi there stamping friends! Welcome to another month with the Creative Inking Blog Hop team! This month we are featuring stamps and products that are retiring from the Stampin’ Up! 2015-16 Annual Catalog and the 2016 Occasions Catalog. There are so many great stamps, inks, punches, dies, colors that are leaving us- I’m sure you’ll enjoy this “Last Chance” blog hop- to see things you might want to buy before they are gone forever! It’s hard to believe it’s time to say “good-bye” to them!

I decided to feature these three cards at my May Clubs this month and for this blog hop, don’t you love it when you can “kill two birds with one stone” (where did that saying come from, lol?)

This card is a case from a demonstrator from the Netherlands who made it in yellow. Thanks Anja!

This card is my own design featuring the retiring set Hey Girl…

Which one do you like better the blonde or the brunette?

I saved my favorite for last, I am so sad that By the Tide is retiring, I absolutely love this coral and all the stamps in the set actually.

Here are some close-ups of the elements on this card. I used our shimmery white card stock for the base and that was beautiful to watercolor, I used crumb cake for the sandy bottom, and then Bermuda bay with some pool party to make the ocean water.

Well what do you think of my retiring offerings? I love to read your comments! Thanks so much for visiting, if you’re ready to go to the next blog to see what Sandy has in store for you,  just click the button below:

This month we are excited to have three Awesome Guest Hoppers that you should definitely check out:

1. Cindy Waldroff
2. Barbara Welch
3. Angela Carter

Ready to get started with my projects? The theme this month is “Black and White and Whatever You Like”…  there are so many awesome color schemes that coordinate nicely with black and white. I knew I wanted to use our brand new Sale-a-bration recent release of Pedal Pusher, and the last time I was on a bike was when I went to California in September on the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip and we rented beach cruisers to ride along the boardwalk. One of the bicycles was this dreamy mint macaron color, so that’s what I decided to go with for my “whatever I like” color.  Once I started this idea, I started noticing this color trio everywhere!

f_bella_w_7_mintgreen

So this was my inspiration for my card creation for the blog hop!

febbloghop

Luckily, as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I was able to pre-order the three new releases earlier this month, and had time to play with them all- and I just had to incorporate all three into this blog hop.

febbloghop2

I knew I wanted a pop of color, and our gorgeous washi tape did the trick!

febbloghop3

I knew I wanted it to be a birthday card, so the mini balloon punch and “It’s my party” enamel dots helped spruce it up.

febbloghop8

Then decided at the last minute to add some mini pearls too… what do you think?

Now to create a coordinating gift card holder…

febbloghop4

The new Metallics Glitter tape is a breeze to tear and use- no scissors needed! I love the shimmer and sparkle it adds to the mini treat bag holder.

febbloghop5

At first I planned to turn the bag on it’s side, but I didn’t really care for this orientation, so I turned it:

febbloghop6

Much better, don’t you think?

febbloghop6

Now for the inside- had to use the brand new set “Party Pants”… don’t you love that sentiment “put your party pants on”??? I love it!

We Create Blog Hop-January 2016

WCBH2016

Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Holiday! The Stampin’ Up! demonstrators in the “We Create Blog Hop” are back for another round of amazing inspiration for you all.. Bonus- today is the day the NEW 2016 Occasions Catalog and Sale-a-Bration Catalogs both launch! How fun to create using all new products! Another perk of being a demonstrator- I’ve received my products in early December  and made my December birthday cards with the all new adorable birthday suites. Want to see what I made for my nephew’s birthday on Sunday?

In this blog hop we do one project and then another version is “stepped up”, this time I started Blake’s birthday card and thought I was done, but realized the other day I could use this to showcase a “stepped up” version of a birthday card:

So I decided on the new jumbo pack of Designer Series Paper called “It’s My Party” (48 pages of 12″ x 12″) item #140552

I knew I was going to put 10 candles on his cake- so easy with the new mini punch trio called “Party Punch Pack” (YES- it’s a bundle with the stamp set I used!) I love that they have a balloon, cupcake and candle punch! To create the realistic candle- you know with a yellow flame- it is impossible to put these tiny pieces together with anything else… only the new Fine-tip glue pen did the job!

Here was my first version of Blake’s birthday card… This stamp set is called “Party Wishes” and is just fabulous!  It is part of the new birthday suite called “It’s My Party!” and I LOVE how everything coordinates!!

IMG_9863

I knew I could “Step it up” some more, so I went to work and added the number 10 from the new stamp set called “Number of Years” which is an awesome photopolymer stamp set- so easy to see through and stamp. Then it is die-cut with the new “Large Numbers Framelits” these dies are expected to be a huge seller- you might want to order these today before they go on back order- I guess Stampin’ Up! didn’t realize how popular they would be amongst demonstrators.

I also decided to “step it up” some more, and added a balloon from the new SaleABration set called Honeycomb Happiness. This is an adorable set- but the honeycombs are also expected to be backordered soon- so if you love it, hurry and order it today!

IMG_9865

Since the honeycomb would become flattened inside an envelope, I decided to design a gift bag to hold his card and gift card together…. love the new “Hello” limited time SaleABration item (this stamp set is only available until February 15th, 2016).

I had to decorate the inside… love those balloons again! So what do you think? I hope you like it! Stamp a Stack sign up by Friday!

Hi There Stamping Friends!

I just wanted to give you a quick update on my dad, he came home yesterday and is doing well at home. We feel so blessed for his excellent care he received at Ellis and Sunnyview and although he has a long road to recovery, we are so glad he is home now. Let the healing begin! Thank you for your prayers!

I’m slowly getting my schedule together and hope to have a newsletter out by the end of the week with all my classes and events. But wanted you to know that the sign up deadline for the next Stamp-a-Stack is this Friday:

Creative Inking Blog Hop- Birthday Bash!

creative hop

Hi there stamping friends! I hope you are having a great week! This month our group is featuring Birthday cards for our blog hop! I can’t wait to see what the others are featuring this month.

As many of you know, the past 11 days have been anything but normal while my father has been recovering from his accident, hip surgery, some undetected heart attack(s), and life on oxygen plus helping my mother who has had some chronic health issues herself, plus being short-handed and working long hours at my work has made life very stressful lately… but- there’s good news-my dad is recovering nicely and is more and more “himself” every day. He was just moved to Sunnyview Rehabilitation Center on Tuesday and we are hoping his recovery goes smoothly while he is there. He has a vigorous schedule of OT and PT, and we are so very blessed and thankful for the amazing medical care he has received. Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers, our family appreciates them so much!

Since I have not been home much, nor have I done much stamping lately, I was a little stumped at where to begin when I was preparing for this blog hop, so I thought of one of my favorite new stamp sets … called “Build a Birthday” found on page 11 of new 2015-16 Annual Catalog (item #138646). This set has been so versatile, and really fun and easy to use since it is one of our amazing photopolymer style stamps. That means they are clear- you can see right through them- which makes stamping a breeze! The coordinating products used in these featured cards include the new 2015-17 In-Colors, the Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape (item #138384) and Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack (item 3 138443). Also, the new 1″ Dotted Lace Trim ribbon is a real show-stopper, it makes every card look more elegant, and is so easy to tie!

This last card has a fun belly-band that slides off so the gate-fold card closes easily.

Which card did you like the most? I’d love to hear from you- do you own this set yet? If not, it’s a must have- and easily a gender neutral stamp set- it’s nice to have this stamp set so you can make up a bunch of birthday cards to have on hand!
