Creative Inkling Blog Hop- Happy Mother’s Day!

creative hop

Hi there Stamping Friends! Thanks for hopping this way on our Creative Inkling Blog Hop for April! Isn’t this a talented group of demonstrators? I am learning so many wonderful techniques from all of them.

This month the theme is Mother’s Day. This month in my club some ladies commented that it is a little hard for them as their mothers are deceased… I do plan alternate greetings for my customers so they can individualize their cards for what ever purpose they’d like. But this got me thinking about doing something other than Mother’s Day cards for this month’s hop. I did feature lovely floral cards and Mother’s Day cards in my clubs this month, here are some samples (in case you didn’t visit me this month): https://lynnzcrafters.com/2015/04/13/april-club-projects/

So I decided that what I wanted to show you is a Mother’s Tribute, using our lovely new Hello Life Project Kit (found on page 6 of the Spring Catalog). Here is the photo of what the collage frame looks like if you complete it exactly as is:

hello life kit3 hello life kit2 hello life kit

Well the great thing about this kit, is it is super easy to customize and you can use the frame for many different purposes. you could change it out seasonally, or give it as a gift. Not sure if you can tell, but I used the clothespins, the frame and the shaker frame for my tribute display, so I have almost all the supplies I can reuse and make another display for another time.

For this month’s blog hop, I decided to use it as for a Mother’s Day Tribute to my dear Mother. I’m blessed to have a wonderful Mother and we live about 4 miles from each other, love that we can see each other often and we attend church together, it is a great time for the two of us.

I have mounted this on my living room wall, it’s the first thing people will see when they enter my home. I used one of those awesome command hooks, I got the one for up to 5 pounds of weight.

Also- a reminder, It’s a great time to grab those labels framelits (they are a weekly deal for 25% off until 4/20 at midnight)…

If you would like to order this kit from my online store, here is a link and please use hostess code: SNGCRCUA

As a thank you for your order, I will email you the directions for how to make this Mother’s Day tribute as my free thank you!

(Please do NOT click the “no contact” button when you are filling in your information, or I won’t know who you are, and I won’t be able to send the tutorial to you. thanks).

April Club Projects…

Hi there Stamping Friends, hope you had a nice weekend! I know I sure did, minus my lengthy trip to the laundromat, guess I’ll be shopping for a new washer/dryer this week, never a dull moment.

Today’s post is about the three cards for my monthly stamping club. Right now I have two that occur in my home and one at a friend’s house up in Hudson Falls. I’m always open to starting new clubs, so if you’d like more info- contact me and I can help brainstorm with you. I may have some openings in July when my next round of clubs start up again (either Saturday mornings or Monday nights).

This month I wanted to feature some cards that could be used for our next holiday – Mother’s Day. The beauty of these three cards is that they can be used for other occasions as well.

First up, this watercolor card is a case (copy-and-share-everything) from Amy I. another talented SU demonstrator. The stamp set used is called Mother’s Love and I have this in Photopolymer which makes it so easy to line up and stamp right where you want it.

IMG_1751

The colors I used are three of the 2014-2016 In-Colors- Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow. Glad these colors will be here another year, love them.

Next up is a card that I cased from Laura Milligan’s website made by another talented Stampin’ Up! demonstrator named Mary Waring that she received as a swap. I loved the use of Strawberry Slush and Elegant Eggplant together with the daffodil delight center, just an adorable card suitable for any occasion! I have to say of all the new floral stamp sets in the spring Occasions catalog, this Petal Potpourri bundle is one of my favorites!

aprilclub6

Some of my talented club friends stepped it up a notch and added some additional charm to this card:

IMG_1803

Last but not least is a card that incorporates a part of the Artisan kit (the beautiful rose stencil) and the stamp set called Painted Petals.  I also picked this set in Photopolymer because you can get such a gorgeous overlay and so easy to see where you are stamping. Love this so much.

aprilclub4

I have to say that I later found a card made by Jan Tink, it might have been on Pinterest and I internalized it or something… does that ever happen to you, a delayed inspiration?? Anyway, one of my club members, and downline, changed hers up a bit too, isn’t this gorgeous?

aprilclub2

So three pretty cards that my club ladies could use for many occasions.

aprilclbu3

I have been toying with an idea for some time now, wondering if you would be interested in a “Class to Go” option? I would feature one stamp set and then prepare 3 to 4 projects (mostly cards) and you would purchase the stamp set and receive all the card stock, die cuts, buttons, ribbons, etc that you would need along with directions both written and a private link to a video on how to make the cards. Well, does that sound like something you would like? I know that the upcoming summer months will be challenging with so many various vacation and travel plans, so let me know if you might be interested. I’m going to spend some time this month on my first Class to Go option, let me know if you’d like more info.

Well thanks for stopping my my blog today, and thanks for all who shopped online and enjoyed the free shipping special last week, wasn’t that wonderful? Thank you!!

Happy Monday!

April Club Cards

How was your week? I hope you all enjoyed the spring weather, finally! I’m thrilled to finally be getting back outside and started walking again.

I had activities every night this week and finally sat down last night to plan and start preparations for my club this month- nothing like cutting it close, whew.

I did some case-ing (again), I was so inspired by some awesome cards by fellow demonstrators in our local Stampin’ Up! group.

This first card was one we made last Sunday at our team get-together. The creators were Cathy K and Mary Beth W. Didn’t they do an awesome job? I love the watercolor paper- it holds up so nicely when you use the aqua painters.

april club1

This second card was inspired by a card that the ever talented Jean Hall brought for our sharing table. I loved how she used the new woodgrain big background stamp, embossed it in early espresso, and turned it into the flower pot. So cut and easy. Know how to turn it into a flower pot? Use the biggest oval framelit to get that curved edge on the bottom, then slice off the sides at the angle you want. Pretty easy.

april club2

The third card for my April club ladies is one that I designed, I really wanted to use the Trefoil Cross (single stamp in the Annual Catalog). I pulled some Wisteria Wonder DSP from my retired stash, it really made the card complete. I love doilies, don’t you?

april club4

This card could be easily turned into confirmation, first holy communion, sympathy, wedding, thinking of you, or pastor appreciation card.

april club3

I have a busy weekend planned, how about you? Any stamping plans? Hey- I have a favor to ask you- could you let me know what handmade item you would be likely to purchase at a craft fair? I have limited time and so many ideas, but I want to narrow it down to what people might be most interested in.
Don’t forget next Saturday is the Relay for Life Fundraiser at the Saratoga Holiday Inn on corner of Rt 9 and Rt 50 in Saratoga Springs. Hope to see you there!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!

Post-it and Hand Sanitizer Holders

Hi there friends!
Wasn’t today a glorious day? I love when my niece Jordan and I can spend time together, had lunch with a dear friend, and did lots of crafting!

Do you know what’s under those covers above? Well, my title probably gave it away, but look:
image

I love the little purse size hand sanitizers from Bath and Body Works, I modified My friend/downline Jamie’s container she made for glue sticks a few months ago. I made these for the Spring Boutique event next Saturday April 20th, up in Lake Luzerne (please email me if need details/directions)! My email is LStreifert@nycap.rr.com

So my niece agreed to help me with some prep, here she is busy…. Do you know what she helped me make??

I was originally planning to have her adhere our new flower trim to the acrylic frames (turn on their sides, they make a great post-it holder!!)… But Jordan saw the rhinestones, and I have to admit, these will attract anyone who likes a little bling! Jordan did an awesome job, I was so thankful for her assistance today!

Well, I have many more projects to finish, tata for now.
Until tomorrow, happy stamping!!

Hi there stampers! Have you enjoyed this beautiful Saturday? I know I did! I had my Saturday morning club ladies over for our monthly get together. Above is the photo of the 4 projects I prepared for them: A petite purse filled with hugs and kisses, with a tea time charm; An elegant tea-cup card perfect for an amazing lady (yes- we embossed with the beautiful pool party embossing powder!), and a small box with a see-thru lid and 4 darling note cards (all stamped differently with the new “Best of Flowers” set that launched last month) with mini note envelopes and some tea bags!  A perfect ensemble for that very special lady, or hey, keep it for yourself as an office decoration!

Notice anything different about this card? One of my new stamping friends, Patty, stepped her card up a notch with the pearls and rhinestone. It really makes the card pop, doesn’t it?

It just so happened that I had planned these club projects out over a week ago, before I knew about the “Color REfresh” going on. I knew I wanted to have some “WOW” projects for my club members and I thought I would showcase the outgoing “In-colors”…. well imagine my surprise when we ended up having a color change up to the line up, knowing that now is huge and I’m thrilled Stampin’ Up has so graciously let us in on the plans this early! I told my club members to stock up on their favorite inks, reinkers, markers, card stock, etc. on all the out going colors, as there’s no guaruntee that they’ll make it to the clearance rack!

So here is what is GOING away in our current colors (10)  and In-colors (1):

Lucky Limeade, Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard, River Rock.

Here’s a look at what our newly configured color families will look like as of May 31, 2013 (when the new catalog goes “LIVE”, a day earlier than we were planning!):
