We Create Blog Hop- July 2016

WCBH2016

Hello Everyone- thanks so much for stopping by today, and Happy July 1st! Hope you have some fun plans for the holiday weekend! Here we are with another awesome blog hop featuring Stampin’ Up! products… we offer a simple card or project, and then a “Stepped-Up” version for you. We hope this blog hop helps you see the possibilities (both plain and simple as well as fancy!)

First up is my simple card featuring the new stamp set called Live, Love, Grow (item # 141905) I pared this with a garden green cardstock base, daffodil delight for the mat, then a piece of Affectionately Yours DSP and whisper white for the top layer. I used memento black ink for stamping, then Sahara sand, garden green and cucumber crush ink pads for the sand and succulents.

For the “Stepped- Up” version, I added just a few enhancements- rounded corners, watercolor background soft sky, added new cucumber crush ribbon and from the tree builder punch the small pink flower.

These succulents were featured on the Stampin’ Up! blog on July 20, 2015 by the über talented Allison Okamitsu (a demonstrator and Artisan team member from Canada). My team had asked if we could make them and it took me a little while to gather the supplies and figure it out. Of course now one of the punches and one of the dies that Allison used is retired, that’s why I was happy to try to figure out if current product could be used to make the succulents.

Our new ovals framelits are perfect for this lone cactus… The little teacup was given to me by one of my team members, thanks Brigid it looks great! Gorgeous grunge stamp set was used with our craft white ink pad to give the cactus some texture and dimension. I squirted 1/2 a Styrofoam ball with my spritzer  (water and cucumber crush reinker).

I had a little broken pot so I played around with paper to fit one single succulent inside. What do you think?

Can you tell how much I love green? LOL. When I was on vacation last week, I almost bought a succulent arrangement in a wooden framed rectangle, it was adorable- I’m going to try to make one, I’ll keep you posted.

Now it’s time to go check out the rest of the creative team… click the “next” button below to go see what the amazing Kimberley has ready for us…. Don’t forget to leave us a comment- we love to know what you think about our creations.

Sunflower Card Recipe

Good Morning Friends! I had posted some photos of my 25 card swap by mail on my Facebook page: Lynnzcrafters and had so many “likes” and comments that I decided to give away the “card recipe”  to you all as my thanks for reading my blog! I am also offering this card to my club members as one of the projects for our August Clubs! I hope they enjoy making it, I know I am happy with all the new 2014-15 Annual Catalog goodies I could pack into this card!

This picture represents how I work when I am doing more than one card: Assembly Line! It really helps to mass produce cards to make more than one at a time!

Here you see one of my favorite tools in the Stampin’ Up! Catalog- the Silicone Craft Sheet! It saves my grid paper from getting all gunked up from adhesives and is a marvelous time saver when using snail, glue or glue guns!

Here are the 25 cards all done, notice that the cards are not identical, well- that’s because the flowers can hide my “boo-boos” so to speak- if I have a flaw, I like to cover it up. Once I did that, I realized I liked having the flowers in different spots! What do you think? Which version is your favorite?

Close up of the finished card. I was pretty happy with it. Hope you enjoyed this photo montage of how I made my swaps. Here’s a list of all the supplies I used:

April Club Cards

How was your week? I hope you all enjoyed the spring weather, finally! I’m thrilled to finally be getting back outside and started walking again.

I had activities every night this week and finally sat down last night to plan and start preparations for my club this month- nothing like cutting it close, whew.

I did some case-ing (again), I was so inspired by some awesome cards by fellow demonstrators in our local Stampin’ Up! group.

This first card was one we made last Sunday at our team get-together. The creators were Cathy K and Mary Beth W. Didn’t they do an awesome job? I love the watercolor paper- it holds up so nicely when you use the aqua painters.

This second card was inspired by a card that the ever talented Jean Hall brought for our sharing table. I loved how she used the new woodgrain big background stamp, embossed it in early espresso, and turned it into the flower pot. So cut and easy. Know how to turn it into a flower pot? Use the biggest oval framelit to get that curved edge on the bottom, then slice off the sides at the angle you want. Pretty easy.

april club2

The third card for my April club ladies is one that I designed, I really wanted to use the Trefoil Cross (single stamp in the Annual Catalog). I pulled some Wisteria Wonder DSP from my retired stash, it really made the card complete. I love doilies, don’t you?

april club4

This card could be easily turned into confirmation, first holy communion, sympathy, wedding, thinking of you, or pastor appreciation card.

I have a busy weekend planned, how about you? Any stamping plans? Hey- I have a favor to ask you- could you let me know what handmade item you would be likely to purchase at a craft fair? I have limited time and so many ideas, but I want to narrow it down to what people might be most interested in.
Don’t forget next Saturday is the Relay for Life Fundraiser at the Saratoga Holiday Inn on corner of Rt 9 and Rt 50 in Saratoga Springs. Hope to see you there!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today!

Tea Time Dry Erase Board

IMG_0747

Today I had the pleasure of spending time with my wonderful upline, Dania Welch, in her stamping studio… this was the project she planned for us (she made hers in the Epic Day This and That DSP). My kitchen and dining room walls are light yellow so I thought the Gingham Garden DSP would look great. It is a 12 x 12 frame, once you design your page and put it under the glass, you can dangle trinkets to hang on top of the glass, and then a dry erase marker is used to write messages, grocery list, recipe, and more. It was so fun to make!

We used punches, oval framelits, and banners… what do you think? I treasured this 1-1 time with Dania and we really got some details worked out for some upcoming events… more details on that another day.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of this project.
