Thank you for joining us for the February Blog Hop of the Creative Inking team- a wonderful group of all Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. These ladies are just fabulous… be sure to click “Hop this way to the Next Blog” icon at the bottom of this post, and then on all the other blog posts- you will be amazed at the talent in this group!! A few of our regular members are off this month, but we have 8 amazing blogs for you to check out, and hopefully find some inspiration!
When I first saw the theme “Color My World”, I instantly thought of our new watercolor pencils! I absolutely LOVE them! In fact- they have proven to be more popular than Stampin’ Up! predicted, as they’ve flown off the shelves. So, in case you don’t have the pencils, I wanted to also show you some simple water-coloring with our inks.
First up is a birthday card I made for my dear dad:
The base is made with tempting turquoise card stock (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″). I used silver foil specialty 12″x 12″ paper cut down to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and embossed it in the new hexagon textured impressions embossing folder (tip: only use 1 cutting pad as this is a super thick folder). I used a strip of Party Animal Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the sentiments are from Big On Birthdays (page 6 from the Occasions Catalog). I used the hammer from the “Nailed It” bundle on page 48 of the Occasions Catalog (you have to LOVE coordinating dies!) on watercolor paper with the watercolor pencils and aqua painter. Dad loved his card! (I had a big family dinner last night to celebrate my dad).
Next up, this trio I made with the Tuscan Vineyard set from page 95 of the Annual Catalog:
This card was water colored with the watercolor pencils on very vanilla card stock. The accent colors are old olive and rich razzleberry.
This card (and the next one) were made with our crumb cake note cards and I colored very lightly with elegant eggplant ink, the stamping was done in crumb cake and elegant eggplant.
This one is my favorite from my little trio, I water-colored with garden green and elegant eggplant ink. The “thanks” is from Cottage Greetings. These were fun and simple to color and put together. Great to make up a bunch and have on hand for thank you card when you need them!
I hope my post inspired you to try some water-coloring! I would love to hear from you, I treasure your comments! Thanks.

Welcome to the 2017 Kick-Off of the Creative Inking Design Team! We are thrilled to have you visit our blogs today! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from all over the USA… Today’s blog hop features products from the new 2017 Sale-a-Bration Catalog by Stampin’ Up! and since this is the magical time of year where Stampin’ Up! rewards customers (and hostesses and demonstrators), it’s a great time to Sale-a-brate and celebrate!
As soon as I saw the cute little trucks in the 2017 Saleabration catalog I knew that there would be a lot of fantastic uses, ice cream truck, taco truck, cupcake truck, the list goes on and on. This is the card I came up with for my Valentines card class I had the other night. This was my first choice stamp set out of the new Saleabration catalog I could not wait to get my hands on this cutie, it is free with your $50 minimum order.
.
I want to share with you a couple of treat holders I also came up with for my Valentine’s Day class. The little test tube is from the September paper pumpkin kit and I filled them with red and white candies called sixlits. The little chocolate holder was made with our tag topper punch (start with a piece of whisper white card stock that is 5 1/2″ long by 2″ wide, punch both ends, then fold in 1/2 and voila!) This size holds one Ghirardelli chocolate candy and came together very easily with some washi tape, I stamped the image in melon mambo ink and punched it out with our sweetheart punch. (If you want to hold more than one Ghirardelli’s or different sized candy, you can play around with the length and score the bottom to make different size treat holders.)
These were all the cards my stampers made at class and they just loved them!
Well, that’s my offering for today, thank you so much for visiting my blog! I would love to hear from you, and would love to know what your favorite new product from the Sale-a-bration catalog is for 2017?? (scroll to the bottom to leave me a response- I read every one!) Welcome to the November Blog Hop of the Creative Inking Team! This is a blog hop features the work of many talented Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. We hope to inspire you each month with our theme-based projects. Today I am featuring some handmade gifts that you could easily make for people on your gift-list this year…. teachers, coaches, co-workers, bus drivers, neighbors, family and friends will love these little gifts.
First up is a sweet little Christmas card/gift card holder using my new favorite bundle – cookie-cutter Christmas, don’t you just love it?
I find that I am always eager to use all of the stamps in this set, it is so versatile.
A few months ago I was inspired by the 12 x 12″ frame by Sandy Mott (you will hop to her blog next after me today) I decided to make a framed piece that would fit inside and 8 x 10″ frame.
This little Eskimo is my favorite part of this piece, all of the designer series paper was cut to 2 x 2″, and the real red background was cut to 2.25 x 2.25″. I scheduled a class for 11/30 and my customers are selecting between this framed art, or the merry mice I featured the other day. It should be interesting for sure. I’d love to hear from you- what project do you like the most today? You can leave me a comment if you scroll all the way to the bottom of this post, and there is a blank text box you can type in under “Leave a Reply”. Thanks! Also- below the next and previous blog hop buttons, you will find the supply items that I used, as well as more details about our Online Extravaganza that starts at 2 am Mountain time on 11/21.

I was in two blog hops that happened to fall on the same day, today! And our theme here with the Creative Inking crew is also Thankfulness… it is such a great theme, and I am full of thankfulness- for my loving family, the doctors and nurses and medical staff who have helped us with my sweet mother’s battle with cancer and my sister-in-law’s battle with Crohn’s disease. The past two months have been a whirlwind of emotions and change for our family, but through it all our faith is sustained. I have needed a lot of cards to express my thanks, if you saw my post this morning, I used my beloved owl punch to create a card and little house. Now tonight, I’m featuring two simple fall cards that you could customize for any occasion!
Today’s card is for the Community Hospice staff who have given my mother such excellent care, just wanted to create something to tell them how much they are appreciated. I hope my card inspires you- is there someone you’d like to thank? I’d love to help you create a special, individualized card of appreciation.
I was so very happy that the Vintage Leaves stamp set from last year’s Holiday catalog carried over to our new 2016-17 Annual Catalog. These leaves are so versatile and there are thousands of ideas on Pinterest with this set. The coordinating Leaflets Framelits dies make cutting a piece of cake with the big shot. (List of supplies is below). I love this color palette: Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze and Garden Green. (I water-colored the die cut leaves to give them more texture and definition and so they would “pop”).
This technique is pretty simple, just water color (I used our Aqua Painters) the same color ink that you used to stamp the image. It fills in nicely on the leaves. Be careful to not “over-saturate” the image as this is our very vanilla cardstock- just go over once, or the paper will “pill”. For this card I added a mason jar from “Jars of Love” bundle, I have been noticing lots of different colored canning jars out there. What do you think of this version?
Don’t worry about going outside the lines, you’re going to cut them out anyway. Isn’t coloring relaxing?

Life has sure thrown my family and I some major curve balls… It has been an emotional roller coaster and to think one month ago today my mother went to the hospital because she was feeling nauseous and had back pain. It is scary to realize that she is filled with cancer. Her hospital bed arrived yesterday, and we are so thankful that her nursing services, home health aide and other hospice services have begun. Then, with my sister-in-law’s recent hospitalization with a severe Crohn’s flair-up, I have not had much energy or time for stamping. Thank you for those who have contacted me and are keeping in touch. We appreciate your kind words, prayers and sweet gestures. So, although I haven’t created recently, I didn’t want to miss another blog hop with these wonderful ladies, and I remembered my swap card I made for a recent swap by mail which fit the theme “Spooky Fun”! I hope you enjoy my card.
I had fun watercoloring our shimmer white paper with old olive reinker on the bottom, and smoky slate on the top of the piece. Then I stamped the haunted house from “Halloween Scares” in memento black ink when it was bone dry. I colored in the windows and doors with a Stampin’ Marker.
I also used a scrap of the Shimmer white for my vampire and “headstone” with the greeting from the stamp set “Suite Seasons”. I love how the elegant eggplant is so deep and rich, and goes well with the pumpkin pie, old olive and delightful dijon markers to color in each word on the stamp. The new cookie cutter punch made this a breeze to pop out.
You can see that I added a witch and some ghosts, this time I used the stamp set “Spooky Fun” to pull in the other elements.
You can’t forget to decorate the inside- I made a mummy (From “Cookie Cutter Halloween”) and added bats and the saying from “Spooky Fun” .
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today- if you need to see the supplies I used, scroll all the way to the bottom of this post.
Hello Stamping Friends!! Welcome to our June Blog Hop! Thank you so much for stopping by today! This month we are featuring all the gorgeous new products from the Stampin’ Up! 2016-17 Annual Catalog! I am seriously in love with this newest edition! The bundles and product suites are out of this world! I hope that you enjoy my post today, and don’t forget to leave a comment (or two) we all love to hear from our readers! You can “hop” along all the other demonstrators blog posts by clicking the buttons “next” or “previous” at the end of this post. Enjoy!!
I have loved playing with the gorgeous new Floral Boutique Suite (pages 76-77 in the new catalog). I went to make up some cards to use the new Designer Series Paper and lovely coordinating washi tape and couldn’t believe that I was totally out of Night of Navy cardstock! (not even a scrap to be found!) So I started playing around with other color schemes and our new in-colors and new ribbon and new washi tape. I was looking for a card that had a clean and simple look, would be easy to mail, and that I could use for my up-coming Bingo night. What do you think?
Here’s a look at all four of the cards separately. Each one has a small change from the previous one. They all start with a piece of whisper white cardstock that is 4 1/4″x 11″ and scored at 5 1/2″. I used the smallest part of the thinlit die with the precision plate and my big shot to cut the floral images out of the bottom portion of the whisper white cardstock. Next I used the new Floral Affection Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (from the Affectionately Yours Suite found on pages 44-45 in the new catalog- I think these two product suites go really well together). Then I used a 4 1/8″ x 5 1/4″ piece of solid color cardstock and adhered it to the inside front of the whisper white, so the Detailed Floral Thinlits die cuts would really pop out.) Then some coordinating washi tape, colored some pearls with a gold sharpie pen, and played around with different placements of the ribbon and embellishments.
Simple sweet sugarplum version with our rhinestones. Decided to eliminate the washi tape on this one, do you think it is too plain? This greeting is from the Love & Affection stamp set, another new favorite of mine.
Peekaboo peach version- with two strips of the Playful Palette Designer Washi Tape, Gold Sequin Trim, Bow Paper Clips Embellishment (I’m so very glad these carried over from the Occasions Catalog!!) The greeting is from the amazing Watercolor Wishes Card Kit (another product I am thrilled to say is also carried over from the last catalog! I think it is a perfect “starter’s kit” for new stampers, and perfect for those who travel or who have limited space- everything fits inside a small box and it comes with everything you need to make 20 unique greeting cards!)
Another Sweet Sugarplum version, I made a small boo-boo on this one, I thought my washi tape was a little crooked, so I tried to lift it off to reposition it, and it tore my whisper white cardstock a little bit. I decided to keep this card to remember to tell you about it- if you burnish the washi tape (that means rub it in with your finger or bone folder) then it might not easily come off card stock.
This card features one of the colors from our Brights Color Collection- Melon Mambo. This card features a strip of the new Pop of Pink Designer Washi Tape from the Pop of Pink Suite of products (pages 84-85). I have loved using this suite for my clubs, a card swap by mail and now this particular card will be one of my Make & Takes at my next Bingo night. I love that this washi tape collection has 5 rolls and two of them are basic black!
Just a word of caution when you are adhering the card stock to the inside of your card base… use adhesive very sparingly. I opted to use some of our tear-and-tape adhesive but I cut it into small strips (the 1/4″ is too wide around the bottom where the flourish design is cut out). Glue dots would also work. I would avoid wet glue, you don’t want it to seep out.
I hope you find some time to do something crafty!

Hi there stamping friends! Welcome to another month with the Creative Inking Blog Hop team! This month we are featuring stamps and products that are retiring from the Stampin’ Up! 2015-16 Annual Catalog and the 2016 Occasions Catalog. There are so many great stamps, inks, punches, dies, colors that are leaving us- I’m sure you’ll enjoy this “Last Chance” blog hop- to see things you might want to buy before they are gone forever! It’s hard to believe it’s time to say “good-bye” to them!
I decided to feature these three cards at my May Clubs this month and for this blog hop, don’t you love it when you can “kill two birds with one stone” (where did that saying come from, lol?)
This card is a case from a demonstrator from the Netherlands who made it in yellow. Thanks Anja!
This card is my own design featuring the retiring set Hey Girl…
Which one do you like better the blonde or the brunette?
I saved my favorite for last, I am so sad that By the Tide is retiring, I absolutely love this coral and all the stamps in the set actually.
Here are some close-ups of the elements on this card. I used our shimmery white card stock for the base and that was beautiful to watercolor, I used crumb cake for the sandy bottom, and then Bermuda bay with some pool party to make the ocean water.
Well what do you think of my retiring offerings? I love to read your comments! Thanks so much for visiting, if you’re ready to go to the next blog to see what Sandy has in store for you, just click the button below:

Hello stamping friends! Welcome to our March Creative Inking Blog Hop! The theme this month is #imbringingbirthdaysback (remember when I told you about the movement, the stamp, the mission?? (if not, click here to read the original post). I have to admit, I made a mistake by hitting publish (instead of “save”) back on March 12th- that was the day I was starting to put together the content for today’s post. Once you publish a blog post, you can’t recall it (my only option was to edit or delete it) and I didn’t want to have to re-type that content again. So now you already know about Shannon West’s creation and I can jump right into my birthday cards and projects for today!
My three cards were inspired my the cute little 6″ x 6″ paper stack called “Have a Cuppa”, it coordinates with the new bundle “A Nice Cuppa” stamp set and “Cups and Kettles” framelits. I love the colors in this pad of paper: Basic Grey, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, and Whisper White. I started experimenting with the stamp set “Balloon Celebration” and the coordinating punch – the Balloon Bouquet Punch!
I took a few hours to just play with the stamp set a few weeks ago, and played around with all the papers, all the stamps to come up with a coordinating set of cards that I could use for this blog post.
Here’s a little secret- it took me about 6 tries before I got a card design I was happy with, here is a rejected card- see how the balloon strings don’t line up? I also didn’t like mixing the fine tip of the marker with the stamped image.
Sometimes I play around and make lots of elements (ie: balloons) and then play around with various backgrounds until I’m happy with it. Here you can see the two-step stamped images with the large and small balloons from this bundle. Notice the watercolor wash background? That is pool party ink watercolored onto the shimmer white cardstock. I thought it would pop.
I loved how this idea came out, notice the thin silver metallic thread? I started using it under the balloon punch-outs, then decided to use it for the balloon strings and bow, I really liked how this came out, what do you think?
Decided to keep this first card CAS (clean and simple). Love the colors together, didn’t even use the DSP on this card!
Here is my first card stamped with the #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp! Love it! Shout out to my downline Sharon, she stayed up until 2 am EST the day Stampin’ Up! launched the sale of this stamp, so she could order it for me, what a great friend! Thanks Sharon!
Next up, this card uses the same Pool Party watercolor wash on shimmer white paper, but decided to try the bunch of balloons out of the DSP and stamped images. What do you think of the mixture?
decided to stamp a sweet little balloon inside this card with the #imbringingbirthdaysback stamp.
Last, but not least, tried the cloud stamps and added some bling with the bermuda bay sequin trim glued down strategically.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog today! I appreciate your comments!

Hi there stamping friends! Welcome to another wonderful monthly hop with our Creative Inking group! What a talented group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators, and it’s a baker’s dozen this month- wow, 13 inspiring blogs to visit! I hope you’ll leave me a comment at the bottom of this post, I love to read your comments!
Our theme this month revolves around Easter- it sure is early this year! I had been toying with some ideas but then saw them pop up all over the internet and Pinterest. So back to the drawing board. I first decided to work on my memory albums I started for my niece and nephew. This year as a Christmas gift, I am going to give them each a 6″x 8″ album full of pictures of them doing fun things throughout the year and with our family from 2016. My goal is to make them 4 pages a month, so I’m not rushing in December to finish them. Wish me luck 😉
So here’s what I pre-made for Easter, now just need to snap some great pictures to pop right in here:
The clear pages are awesome and double sided- and I love the uniformity of all my pictures and decorations being so easy to figure out. I didn’t use any of the Project Life card kits for this month, I didn’t find any that seemed “Easter-ish” so I made the inserts with new stamps from the Occasions catalog.
I was inspired by BJ’s post the other day with this cute little bunny made from our new Friends & Flowers stamp set, it is the perfect addition to Claire’s Easter page. The bunny face is punched out with the 1 3/8″ circle punch and the bunny ears are punched out with the Festive Flower builder punch that carried over from the 2015 Holiday catalog- (you can see both products on page 46 of the new Occasions catalog).
Notice the new piece of Metallics Glitter Tape? It’s one of our new Saleabration offerings that just started this week!
Next up is a card design that I have been itching to make, I love the look of skinny strips of paper (it’s all over the place in quilt cards and fun folds, etc). but I wanted something a tad bit easier to put together, as I’m planning to offer this card in my Easter Peeps class coming up. So I started with our oval framelits to cut out a large opening on a piece of 3- 3/4″ x 5″ whisper white card stock.
Then I went through my Birthday Blooms DSP, I had scraps that I cut into 3 1/2″ long pieces, the width varied from 1/4″ to 3/4″ (just don’t make them all the same)
next I practiced aligning them to see what pieces of paper looked nice together, or not… don’t add any adhesives yet- just play with your layout.
Then I carefully positioned the oval over the top of my paper pieces to “eyeball” it and see if I liked the arrangement, you can tweak this design until you get it right.
Then carefully lift off the piece of whisper white and put adhesive (I used our Fast Fuse tape runner all around the edges of the backside of the oval). Then carefully place it on top of the paper pieces. Next I glued this down to my 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ whisper white card base. And then put a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Watermelon Wonder piece (die cut the next larger size oval so that when it’s overlaying the paper pieces it resembles an egg). I used Fast Fuse for this step also.
I used the new Watermelon Wonder 1″ stitched satin ribbon and tied a fork bow, adhered with glue dots. Also stamped “Happy Easter” from the new single wood mount stamp Easter Lamb with Watermelon Wonder ink and punched out with the washi label punch.
As I’m typing this, I’m thinking it would look nice if the watermelon wonder card stock was embossed with the decorative dots textured impressions embossing folder, give it a try and let me know what you think.
All products are from the amazing new 2016 Occasions Catalog! If you’re new to Stampin’ Up! be sure to check out our fantastic Sale-A-Bration catalog! It’s our Annual Customer Appreciation Time! for every $50 you order (before tax/shipping), you can pick an item from the exclusive catalog- check out the links on my side-bar on the left- (or if you’re reading this from a mobile device- scroll to the bottom) *Please note the three items on pages 16-19 retired on February 15th, and we have the three new items (see the three videos I’ve added here below, you can see the versatility of these new products!).
I also wanted to share with you one of my favorite punch art projects from a few years ago:
I love to make Easter cards and was looking for a chocolate Easter bunny stamp, but we didn’t have one at the time and I did a google search and found one similar to what I made (that’s called case-ing Copy And Share Everything). It’s fun to make punch art. I’m thinking of adding a monthly punch art class to my monthly class offerings, what do you think?

Hi everyone, thank you so much for stopping here on our monthly Creative Inking Blog Hop! I’m so thrilled to be included in this talented group of ladies, every month I am so inspired by all of their creations and I hope you are too! This month our theme is “love is in the air”. I knew what I wanted to make and I went to get the sentiment “love you” out of the stamp case and it was missing, 😥. We used it at my Monday night monthly club last week, and I sure am hoping it turns up.
I just adore our new stamp set called “Bloomin’ Love”… I used our watercolor paper and white embossing powder, then did a watercolor wash with rose red reinker, and can you see the shimmer? That is our new Wink of Stella brush that really adds a sparkle to your lettering or stamped projects (it comes in shimmer clear or gold-I use the shimmer clear on this card).
Of course this card was a breeze with our new mini stack of paper called Love Blossoms, there are 48 pieces of paper in this pad and I just love the color schemes!
The finishing touch was the tiny heart punched out of our new blushing bride glimmer paper.
What do you think? I would love to hear your comments. Thank you so much for stopping by today!
