Paper Snowmen

SNOW DAY??? Have fun….

Hi friends, so I wanted to explain about my little faux pas… you see I often try to create my blog posts on the weekends when I have a bit more time to write, edit, take photos, and upload to wordpress here. I often schedule blog posts in advance… and well- just wanted you to know the wish list post from last night about 10 pm I meant to schedule it for 7 am… not sure how I messed that up, but well, I wanted you to know that I make mistakes too.. sorry! anyway, on to today’s post, hope you have time to create this cute little snowman.

This was an awesome post from the Stampin’ Up! blog, I’ve been under the weather and haven’t really created anything new, need to get my club cards prepped, hope to do so tonight. I also still owe you photos of my grab bag from last weekend, will take those later too. Enjoy!!

Remember our 3D paper pumpkin project from a few weeks ago? Now you can create fun paper snowmen using the same technique!

Paper Snowmen1

One snowman takes about thirty minutes to make—and they’re super-easy to put together. Make one for Christmas . . . then change his hat and get him ready for Valentine’s Day!

Paper Snowmen2

You could also put these snowmen to work as cute package toppers or place card holders for table settings. Or gather together your kids or grandkids together for a fun little party making snowmen families to decorate your home.

Create the hat using a 2-1/4″ circle, a 1-1/2″ circle, and 1-1/2″ x 5″ strip of cardstock or Designer Series Paper. Make the snowman’s body using 2-3/4″, 2-1/4″, and 1-7/8″ circles (or whatever size you wish)! Use the Owl Punch for eyes and the Bird Punch to make the nose and mouth. Easy!

Operation Jordan’s Graduation Party- a Great Success!

Many of you know that my niece Jordan is like a daughter to me. From the time she was born we had a special bond. My first niece, and with my brother and sister-in-law in the restaurant business, I was blessed to be able to have her on the weekends when they worked, along with her other Aunts too, and my parents during the work week, this kid never went to daycare. Well, she just graduated from high school last month and we just had her big Graduation party yesterday. They say it takes a village to raise a child, it was so true for this kid- and for her party!

Here she is:

Here are just a few highlights (with the crafty element) that I thought you’d appreciate: My sister Sue created these yummy chocolate brownies and chocolate cupcakes with a graduation cap topper! How cute are these???

Here are some of the decorations I made for the party and we had a Project Life station where guests could jot Jordan a “Note or a Quote” and then we had a Photo Booth – I saved room in the back of her album for a graduation section and we’ll insert all the notes from people with their photos.

Well I took over 100 photos, I don’t think you want to see all of them, plus I have to get ready for work! I was so tired last night that I took a shower and went right to bed!

Thanks for stopping by to visit my blog today! More tomorrow about my July Club projects!

Happy Monday!

Patriotic Summer Banner Class

IMG_9346

Although I didn’t get this made before summer officially started, I did finish it on Sunday morning and boy, I am sure happy with how it came out. As soon as I saw that Stampin’ Up! came out with new stencils, I was so excited about the possibilities! I purchased both our new Hearts & Stars Decorative Masks and Dots & Stripes Decorative Masks. They are different size dots and stripes than the stencils in the Build a Banner kit, and I knew the stars and stripes would look amazing done in Real Red, Night of Navy and I threw in some Smoky Slate for the letters. Also to the rescue were the new Star Framelits and this month’s Paper Pumpkin Kit!!! How stinkin’ cute are the pinwheels??? I adore them and I think they are just the perfect touch on the “Summer” banner… what do you think? OH, also, I used the NEW glimmer paper and the cute little star punch from our new Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack (I have been using those 3 new little punches on almost every project since they’ve arrived here).

Can’t wait for this class on Thursday! And for more patriotic themed projects! Stay tuned!

Thanks for stopping by my blog to visit, and I hope you have a nice day!

Spring Banner Blast

The other night I had a small group of stampers over, (at my last team get together my team asked if I would do a spring banner class- don’t worry, I will repeat in case anyone else wants to make one too- let me know). Here’s how they did- aren’t they so sweet?? Love every single one of these, I think they are awesome!

image

Here’s Jamie with her banner, (hope I’m not spoiling the surprise by showing the photo on my blog, forgive me Jamie if this was supposed to be a secret).

banner shayna

This is Shayna holding her beautiful banner, can you see the cute doilies on the top of each letter? I think it’s just adorable with these doilies!

banner danielle

Here is Danielle and she wanted to personalize her banner by having the banner bases only in pink and yellow, and you know what- that’s what I’m all about- I WANT all my stampers/customers/friends/downline to ALWAYS create something they love- I don’t want carbon copies of mine (unless you love it and want it to be the same)- I work hard to ensure people always know they can customize their projects.

image

That being said, here is Amye- who wanted to make one just like mine (notice the elegant bird die on top of the banners- it is on the clearance rack, so I was comfortable using this die). Amye is the only one who incorporated the birds. Like I said, it should be a personal choice, I know lots of people who don’t care for birds.

banner spring

This was my banner, I cased the idea from Pinterest, from a gal named Dawn T, and I loved the Gingham Garden color pallet she used, and all the scallop flowers made from the big shot were just the perfect finishing touches.

So what do you think? Do you want to make a SPRING banner? This is a time intensive class, I will need to do some more prep so if you are interested, please contact me at LStreifert@nycap.rr.com I can only accommodate 8 people in my stamp room at a time. This would be a $20 class and would include snacks, beverages, and all the supplies to make an awesome banner. I could do another class on April 27th, a Sunday afternoon, that is my first opportunity, if that doesn’t work, let me know- I can do another one later that week.

Have an awesome day, thanks for stopping by to read my blog!

Love You and You Make Me Happy

Hi There Stamping Friends!

How are you? I had a busy weekend full of stamping and fun, wanted to show you two of the cards that I came up with for our team get together Sunday. I’m going to try to start adding product order numbers for you, as some people have emailed me and asked for it. I love when I hear from you and am here to help you, if you ever have any questions, about Stampin’ Up! or card making or anything you might need my help with.

jan inketts swap

This first card was a swap card that I made to trade with other demonstrators at the meeting. I made 24 of the same card. It is great to come home with samples of so many kinds of cards made by other talented folks and really shows all the new products so nicely.

The card base is a piece of 5 1/2 x 8 1/2″ Strawberry Slush card stock (item #131295 is only $6.95 for a package of 24 pieces of 8 1/2 x 11″ cardstock). The whisper white layer is 4 “x 3″  (item# 100730 is $8.50 for 40 pieces of 8 1/2 x 11″ card stock) and the basic black card stock (item # 121045 is $6.95 for 24 pieces) layer is cut to 4″ x 2 1/2” then embossed in the big shot with a texture folder (see below).

This card features the Photopolymer stamp set called Countless Sayings 1

countless

Countless Sayings 1 Photopolymer Stamp Set item #135892 Price: $13.95
Say it all with our Countless Sayings 1 Photopolymer Stamp Set. With everything from “love stinks” to “love your face” you’ll never be at a loss for words with this set.   We recommend clear block sizes A, B, G, H, I, and E (not included in the set).

Our photopolymer stamps offer a versatile all-clear stamping option. You’ll find that our photopolymer is top-quality and gives a perfectly stamped image every time. The stamps stick amazingly well to our clear blocks and are easy to place just where you want them. And best of all, you get to enjoy tons of images for a great price!
Stamp set Quantity: 17 pieces

I stamped the Flowerful Heart (wood mount only $9.95 item #134617) in Coastal Cabana ink, and stamped off once on scrap paper then the ink was a lighter shade over the word “Love”… this “stamping off” is a great technique to get a shadow effect or a lighter opacity when stamping. *If you like this flowerful heart stamp, it is only here until January 27th, so order yours before they are gone.

The cute, flirty little ribbon I used is from our big Annual Catalog, called Coastal Cabana 3/8″ Ruffle Stretch Trim (10 yards) item #130024  Price: $8.95 I used a 4″ piece to stretch across the seam where the white and black card stock meets- using sticky strip.

ribbon1

Also I used three new soon to be released Sale-a-Bration items… the 3  little  banners were made with a soon to be FREE stamp set called “Banner Blast” and it was stamped in coastal cabana ink (order item #131175 price $5.95)  and punched with a new Banner Punch. The third item I used might be hard to see, did you notice the textured dots on the piece of black card stock? that is a new Textured Impressions Embossing Folder called Decorative Dots. (I’m not allowed to show pictures of these products, just items I’ve made with them).

sab2014b

These three items will launch on January 28th when our Sale-a-Bration (or SAB for short) for 2014. SAB is the most wonderful time of the year- because you can earn so many free stamps and products. Please let me know if you are intersted in getting the flyer so you can think about how you can earn your favorites. You earn one free SAB item (out of 13 brand new exclusive items) for each $50 order (ie: if you have a $100 order, you can select 2 SAB items, etc.) I love helping people earn as many free items as possible. For hostesses who book parties during SAB (January 28th to March 31, 2014) you will earn an extra $30 in free product if your party reaches $300. That would mean $80 in free product for you.

sab2014

This is what our new Sale-a-Bration flyer looks like this year- let me know if you need one! I’ll get it in the mail to you.

jan inketts m&t

This second card is one I designed for our Make and Take project. My friend and wonderful downline stamper, Jamie, volunteered to help me with this one. We partnered up and prepared for all the attendees (we prepped for 40 people).  The card base is crumb cake card stock- you get 2 card bases out of one piece of 8 1/2 x 11″ card stock. (item #120953 is $6.95 for 24 pieces of card stock). We used the brand new Arrows Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (item # 132187    Price: $7.95)

freshprints

The cute little striped piece of paper is made from an awesome new package of Designer Series Paper called Fresh Prints Designer Series Paper Stack ( item#132996 Price: $6.95) Create multiple cards in a snap with this stack of Designer Series Paper. Sized large enough for card fronts. Coordinating colors: Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake, Real Red, Whisper White. there are 48 sheets: 4 ea. of 12 double-sided designs that each measure 4-1/2″ x 6-1/2″ and as always, our paper is acid and lignin free. These little stacks are a real bargain, and give such a nice variety of patterns. I love these colors combined together!

bundles

Perfect Pennants Clear-Mount Bundle ( item# 134816 Price: $41.50) Buy the Perfect Pennants clear-mount stamp set and coordinating Banners Framelits Dies together at a 15% discount. Who doesn’t love a discount?? Aren’t the bundles awesome??!!!

I used a half of one of our adorable tea-lace doilies, and I think that makes it a little more feminine (if you’re making this card for a guy, just leave off the doily and the white baker’s twine, in my opinion). item #129399 price is $2.95 for 32 doilies (they measure 4″ diameter).

doily

White Baker’s Twine item# 124262 Price: $2.95  You’ll find an endless number of project uses for this sturdy, twisted twine. Created to coordinate with the Nautical Expedition Suite; White twine is approximately 1/16″ wide; spool contains approximately 25 yards.

white twine

Red Glimmer Paper made the little tiny hearts a cinch. This comes in a pack of 2 pieces of 12 x 12″ for $4.95 item #121790

red glimmer

Our Small Heart Punch is item #117193 for only $5.95

small heart

Again, in this card I used the Banner Blast duo  (stamp “love”) and punch. You’ll be able to earn these for free in just 14 days, that’s right- 2 weeks from today we launch our Sale-a-Bration Party!

So, I think those are all my “ingredients” for these two cards. I hope I didn’t forget anything. Do you like these details? Do you like having the photo of the item, do you need the product description? Just looking for feedback from you. (it does take a little more time to type it all in here… just saying).

Whew, that’s enough for today. Hope you made it all the way to the end of this blog post. Thanks so much for reading. Which card do you like better?  Leave me a comment. I have several extra of each card, and I’m going to have a little contest- will pick 4 winners (two of each card). Leave a comment to this post by Saturday. thanks!

September Club Fall Banner

Over the weekend I prepped for my September clubs… I wanted to do something a little extra special for them, more than our usual cards, so they are going to each make one of these “FALL” banners, can you tell I am loving the Simply Created Banner Kits? Love them!

image

What word would you like to turn into a banner? I have made 3 now (“JOY”, “BOO”, and this one above-“FALL”)… I want to make more, thinking of doing a gratitude one… What do you think?
Thanks for stopping by, happy Thursday!
