Creative Circle Design Team Rock-a-Bye!

Hello and welcome to our May edition of our monthly Creative Circle Design Team’s blog hop! Every month I literally get so excited to see what these amazing ladies have to offer us all. They are all experts with their Silhouette Cameo (electric die-cutter machines) and I am still a novice. I had high hopes for using the machine more, and when I went to use it for this hop, to make an adorable baby cradle from the file our wonderful leader Liz Holloway sent us, I started having computer problems. Luckily I can still blog from my phone and tablet, I will have to get the computer in to the shop for a quick check-up and repair, wish me luck!

So forgive me, I’m going to share with you the projects I featured at my WTG (Way To Go) Day for my Top 4 downline (they accrue points on a quarterly basis for sales, recruiting, anniversary with SU, and for promotions). Unfortunately one of  girls was unable to be here this time, but she will still get her goodies! These are some “sneak peeks” at some new product coming out in our 2017-18 Annual Catalog that launches on June 1st.

Gerber daisies from our local garden center, Hewitt’s, aren’t they pretty? All four are different colors.

These little embroidered Owl totes are from 31 Bags, I saw they were on clearance rack a few weeks ago, so I ordered them for this special day.

Fresh fruit, two homemade (and a little lopsided) quiches, blueberry/peach tart, sparkling juices and other beverages rounded out our menu for breakfast.

Elizabeth, Amye and Sharon were in my top 4 as was Lisa, but she couldn’t attend, we missed you Lisa!

A few weeks ago I found these cloth covered jewelry trays at one of the big box craft stores and I just knew they’d come in handy for some special project. Well, once I went to OnStage in Toronto last month, and saw the gorgeous new papers that would launch in the new catalog- I had my idea- a daisy themed WTG Day! The colored pieces are 3″ squares in Pool Party, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.

This box stands by itself, but is lighter than a frame. I plan to make other inserts through the seasons so I can rotate and keep this in my craft room. Don’t you just LOVE the new daisies?? And the new punches?? This piece features 4 new stamp sets! (I received them at OnStage as prizes!)

I was pleased with how these projects came out, I can’t wait to hear what you think!  Wondering if you would like to take a daisy making class?

The girls also made a new In-Color Stampin’ Tool- they punched, stamped and inked up this paper with the 5 new In Colors. Don’t you just love them together?? I don’t know how Stampin’ Up! manages to do it, but these colors are so on trend right now. Lemon Lime Twist is my favorite! What about you?

The supplies to make the vase of daisies was from my local Dollar General store (artificial flowers- just pluck the “heads” off and use the stems as your base) and a little candle holder worked perfectly.

We had a fabulous morning of stamping, laughing and crafting. So much fun!

Well, now I want to share a baby card, since that is our Theme after all… Rock a Bye Baby.

I used the stamp set “Little Cuties” which will retire this month, I think this is a versatile set- you can make a lot of projects with this one! I paired it with Cupcakes & Carousels DSP stack and colored my rocking horse with our awesome Watercolor Pencils! What do you think?

Thanks for visiting today, be sure to check all of the talented designers and leave us a comment- we love to hear from you! Ready to go see what Kate has created this month? Me too! Click the icon:

We Create May Blog Hop!

Hello Friends!

Happy May! Did you have a nice weekend? I sure did! Lots of stamping fun for sure!  Today I am showcasing all of the projects at our Stamp Camp we had on Saturday morning.  Each stamper made 2 of the following cards and one treat holder (which doubled as a gift card holder too). (You saw my summer fun cards last week, but the others are all new designed specifically for stamp camp to showcase some products which are retiring and some which are continuing into the next catalog!)

So thrilled the Mini Treat Bag thinlit is returning! I don’t use this enough! It could hold candy, a gift card, gift certificate and much more. I used the DSP stack of our returning In Colors (Dapper Denim, Emerald Envy, Peekaboo Peach, Flirty Flamingo and Sweet Sugarplum). I used So Saffron for the scalloped circle behind the Endless Wishes birthday cake and sentiment.

This card is similar to the summer fun card I made last week, this time I just stamped on colored card stock and trimmed down to fit amongst the watercolored images.

The Whisper White Pack of notecards was perfect for these cute thank you cards featuring Bella and friends as well as Pretty Kitty and Endless Thanks.

This card features Swan Lake, only we made them into little ducklings here.

Here I combined In the Meadow (retiring) with Up and Away (returning).

This adorable card was a favorite- and I cased this from a card given to me by one of my downline- thanks Tiff!

We had to move Stamp camp to the Charlton Freehold Presbyterian Church as my church accidentally doubled booked the room. I actually grew up in this church, and all went well.

We set up 6 tables, one for each project. We had 3 big shot stations, a catalog/ordering area and of course a snack bar.

I only got a few action shots, we were busy all morning. The ladies love the format of stamping at their own pace, and rotating around the room (it really makes for a fun and relaxing morning).

Huge thanks to my teammates: Laurie, Kathy, Sharon, Elizabeth, and Sheila for helping this event to be a huge success! And thanks to all who came out to stamp!

We’ll be planning another one this summer! Stay tuned!

Creative Inking April Blog Hop!

Hello everyone!
Thank you for joining us for our next monthly hop- our theme is actually a Color Challenge and all the Stampin’ Up! demonstrators will be creating projects using Pear Pizzazz, Peekaboo Peach and Flirty Flamingo! Aren’t these colors just gorgeous together?? What does it make you think of? (Rainbow Sherbert maybe??)

I love a good challenge, don’t you? I can’t wait to see what everyone has created this month!

For my first card using this color challenge,  I decided to do a watercolor wash on our shimmery white card stock, and then stamped right on top with a “day at the beach” stamp set.

I also stamped it with a greeting from “endless wishes” (which is also retiring) to make this a fun card for someone about to travel, retire or move.

Next stop was a technique called no-line water coloring. Basically you use the same ink color to stamp and watercolor the image.

What do you think of my two cards using this color challenge? Are you ready to create with these three beautiful colors?

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, please leave me a comment (scroll to bottom, enter where it says “leave a response”).

Stampin Friends Birthday Surprise Blog Hop!

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to our April installment of the Stampin Friends Blog Hop! First, let’s welcome our guest hopper this month, it is Jennifer Knape Cerizo! I can’t wait to see her creations! Welcome Jennifer!! And if you’ve arrived here from Lana Staab’s blog- thanks for joining me!

This month our theme is Birthday Surprise! I thought I would showcase some of my favorite retiring products! Day at the Beach is from our outgoing 2017 Occasions Catalog and Endless Wishes is from the 2016-17 Annual Catalog.

I started with our watercolor paper and stamped with Stazon black ink. Then I use our watercolor pencils to color in the images. I use the greetings from “endless wishes” and stamped with Versamark ink on black card stock and embossed with whisper white powder and our heat tool.

Of course a little wink of Stella helps make the images pop!

This card will be one of the greeting cards we feature in our upcoming stamp camp on April 29, it is easily customizable to any greeting you will need!

Just added a little flap at the bottom of the insert so it would hold a gift card!

My birthday surprise card and mini-treat bag coordinate beautifully and feature our brights color collection.

So what do you think? Can you believe most of these products are going away? Hurry if you want to get your hands on them, before they’re gone forever!

Ready to go check out what the rest of the bloggers have created this month? Just click each name in the list below. Have fun!

Click this image to see a list of items that are totally SOLD OUT, (also- check my website for updates as this list might have changed since yesterday): *Note Stampin’ Up! plans to manufacture stamp sets up to May 22nd, but all others are only available while supplies last.

CCDT- April Hop- Happy Easter!

Hi Everyone!

I’m tickled pink to tell you that I am all packed for my next Stampin’ Up! adventure- our OnStage local event- I’m heading off to Toronto, Canada (yes, that was the closest location by car for me) and some of my team are going with me as well! Be sure to swing back here over the weekend to see some photos of our trip!

This Easter will be different for me, the first one without my mom, and then on top of that my sister and her family are going away for “spring break”, so I wanted to give my niece and nephew some fun Easter treats before they leave on their trip.We are actually celebrating Easter a day early so we can be together as a family. I know everyone will enjoy these treats- love the M&M’s in pastel colors! Good thing I saved my Top Note die, (it retired a few years ago, but I saw this idea on Pinterest and couldn’t resist). Also, showcasing an outgoing In Color- I’m really going to miss Cucumber Crush, what a nice vivid spring green.

These two mini egg cartons I actually purchased from a friend and fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Karyn Morrison, didn’t she do an amazing job?! We were both vendors at a recent craft fair and I loved that we both had so many different items for sale. So I picked these up for my two nieces. (I hope they don’t see this post, lol) Jordan’s favorite color is pink and Claire’s favorite color is purple, so I picked out mini egg cartons in their favorite colors. Karen filled them with eos lip balm and Lindt chocolate). She was much smarter than me and ordered the egg cartons back in January when the Occasions catalog launched, whereas I thought I had more time to order them. Well, they were wildly popular and we quickly sold out of them, but the good news is- they are back, so if you want to order them- go for it! You can expedite shipping to have them here in time for Easter.

My nephew is going to get this one (I know I showed this in a previous blog post, we made this at a demo get together back in February designed by the uber talented Peggi Fleming). (I might change out the Easter basket to a blue or green one) although I did just place my own order on Tuesday so maybe I’ll make a new one just for Ethan. (I’ll let you know). 😉

I did put together my paper pumpkin kit from March and I plan to use these cuties for place settings at our table for Easter. Everyone will love some little Easter love. (good thing I had two kits for my use last month!)

And here are some Easter cards I am planning to feature at my upcoming Easter cards and treats class on April 11th. (I still have a little room, let me know if you’re interested). This one was made by one of my downline, Amye S., isn’t this adorable? I think my customers will love making these, it is filled with a little Lindt chocolate lamb.

I threw a few more pictures in here for you to see all of my Easter creations in one spot.

Well, that’s it for today, thanks so much for visiting me! Ready to go see what the amazing Kate has created for us?? I love this design team so much, everyone is SOOOO talented!

We Create Blog Hop- Step it up April!

Holy cow, how did it get to be April 1st? Did you play any April’s Fool’s jokes on anyone? Did anyone play a good one on you? I’d love to hear them all, leave me a comment (scroll all the way to the bottom of this page and type in where it says “Leave a response”) thanks!

Today’s post is a quick one, to showcase some recent cards I made and featured in my March Watercoloring Class at the Scotia-Glenville Continuing Education program. I’d love to hear from you- which one do you like best?

This first card was made using So Detailed Dragonflies from the Occasions Catalog, Shimmer White card stock, Rich Razzleberry re-inker, Tempting Turquoise re-inker, (colored with the aqua painter) and finished with clear Wink of Stella. Can you see the shimmer on the wings of the dragonflies?

This card base was made with Watercolor Paper and our awesome watercolor pencils. I used Rich Razzelberry, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie and Daffodil Delight pencils and the aqua painter to blend.

Well, that’s it for now, are you ready to go check out the amazing Kimberley’s blog post? I love her work! Just click the “Next Blog” button below.

Hey- if you’re local, and have time, I would love for you to stop by and see me and some other awesome crafters at the Rexford Auxilary Fire Department’s Annual Spring Craft Fair (and bake sale and book sale). It is for a very good cause- I will have some homemade items for sale, my card racks and past paper pumpkin kits for sale. There are lots of raffle baskets as well. Hope you can make it, here are the details:
Sunday April 2nd from 10 am to 4 pm at the Rexford Firehouse located at 1601 Route 146, Rexford, New York 12148

Stampin Friends Easter Blog Hop

Hi there Stampin Friends!! Welcome to the March Stampin Friends Blog Hop! This month our theme is “Easter”, I can’t wait to see what everyone has prepared for this month, this is a really talented group of stampers, don’t you agree? Also, I’d like to welcome our two guest hoppers this month Mandy Reedyk and Sue Vine! Can’t wait to see your creations ladies! Also, new this month, we are trying a new format for our hop. You will find a list of names all the way at the bottom of this post, and you just need to click a name and it will take you to that person’s post. Fingers crossed that I “did” the link correctly! Funny story, we created these blog posts several weeks ago to be ready for this new format, and my intro said “Hello friends, what a beautiful spring week we’ve had”… well the laugh is on me, we’ve just survived Winter Storm Stella- or the Snow Apocalypse of  2017. I live in Upstate New York and we clocked in with 22” here in Glenville! I feel very blessed to have had 2 snow days the past two days! (oh the joys of working for a school again! I missed snow days so much the last 11 years). And I’m also thankful for a garage to park my car and my dear dad who plowed me out (twice) and a wonderful neighbor who snow-blowed my driveway!! The poor road crews have been working non-stop to clear our roads and highways. Kudos guys!

First up is my trio of Easter projects that I created just for you!

This cute egg carton Easter treat holder was designed by a fellow Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, Peggi F., at our local Upstate Stampers get-together. She did such a great job with this design! I love the “polka dots” created with our reinkers, a little rubbing alcohol, and dabbed on with a q-tip! So sweet- thanks Peggi!!

.

This card I created especially for an Easter Card swap with Tami White. I made 8 of the same cards and mailed them off to her, and received 7 different ones back. (I’ll share those in a different post). Since I only needed to make 8, I decided to do a “more difficult” technique- so this is the side-step pop-up fancy fold card. I used mint macaron as the base and the in color’s DSP for the backgrounds. This new stamp set is called Easter Message (page 19 of the Occasions Catalog). I used our awesome watercolor pencils to color all the images.

I used our basic grey archival ink pad to stamp and watercolor on our watercolor paper and colored with aqua painters. The trick for me, is to color with a dull pencil, (not a sharp point). Also, I think the gold foil really works as the matte, it makes it pop, don’t you?

This card was a runner up for my Easter swap, but in the end it was far too complicated to make 8 of them. This pop and twist card is all the rage out there, but does take some time to cut and score all the elements. I used the Easter Message stamp set again, love it so much.

Here is the open view of the card, what do you think?

Funny story about this little Easter treat… I needed to come up with a shower favor and the theme was blue flowers in blue mason jars. So first I created the favor and then I realized it would easily convert to an Easter treat holder for my March club get-together, so I went shopping again for more of these little Lindt chocolate lambs (sorry if you live in Glenville, NY and you need some, I bought them all- and I wiped our Target and CVS.)

The little green base is a 2 3/4″ square (I used pear pizzazz here) and it is scored at the 2″ mark on all four sides. You cut four of the score lines to create tabs, so you can complete the little box. I stapled mine to hold it closed. Then glue on the jars and eggs, and embellish!

Well, that is it for today, I read all your comments, and I treasure each one. Would love to hear from you. If you have any questions about the supplies I used, let me know. They are all current Stampin’ Up! products found in the 2017 Occasions Catalog, Saleabration (glimmer paper) and Annual Catalog. I hope you have a wonderful day, thanks for stopping by. Now just click on a name and hop around to see the other 10 crafters blog hop posts for today!

We Create Blog Hop- March Step it Up!

img_9579

Hello everyone, and welcome to our March Blog Hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love to show you a simple project and then a “stepped up” version- it’s wonderful to get so many ideas and inspiration from this talented group!

First up is this sweet birthday card I made at a gathering of Stampin’ Up! demonstrator’s recently and this card was designed by the talented Jacqueline L. I love the watercolor wash on our watercolor paper that was with blushing bride ink. The three little succulents are die-cut from our new Oh So Succulent dies and the colors used are: blushing bride, pear pizzazz, and sweet sugarplum. The happy birthday greeting is from “rose wonder”. (also Gorgeous Grunge was used to add the little dots).

When I got home from the gathering I knew that this would be a perfect card to use for our blog hop- to show a “stepped up” version and show off our new glimmer paper. (this was a new addition to our Saleabration items that we launched on February 21). And this card I made especially for a dear friend’s birthday. I know she treasures hand-made cards. I did use the sweet sugarplum ribbon and stepped up the “happy birthday” greeting with the layering ovals dies.

What do you think? Do you like the dazzling dragonfly?

In case you missed it, here are the three new offerings for Saleabration:

I thank you all so much for joining us on today’s blog hop! I have another hop later tonight, I will probably be in bed when it’s published… But I hope you can pop back over and see some other awesome new creations.

Creative Inking “Color My World” Blog Hop

ccbh-image

Hello Friends,

Thank you for joining us for the February Blog Hop of the Creative Inking team- a wonderful group of all Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators. These ladies are just fabulous… be sure to click “Hop this way to the Next Blog” icon at the bottom of this post, and then on all the other blog posts- you will be amazed at the talent in this group!! A few of our regular members are off this month, but we have 8 amazing blogs for you to check out, and hopefully find some inspiration!

When I first saw the theme “Color My World”, I instantly thought of our new watercolor pencils! I absolutely LOVE them! In fact- they have proven to be more popular than Stampin’ Up! predicted, as they’ve flown off the shelves. So, in case you don’t have the pencils, I wanted to also show you some simple water-coloring with our inks.

First up is a birthday card I made for my dear dad:

The base is made with tempting turquoise card stock (8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″). I used silver foil specialty 12″x 12″ paper cut down to 4″ x 5 1/4″ and embossed it in the new hexagon textured impressions embossing folder (tip: only use 1 cutting pad as this is a super thick folder). I used a strip of Party Animal Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the sentiments are from Big On Birthdays (page 6 from the Occasions Catalog).  I used the hammer from the “Nailed It” bundle on page 48 of the Occasions Catalog (you have to LOVE coordinating dies!) on watercolor paper with the watercolor pencils and aqua painter. Dad loved his card! (I had a big family dinner last night to celebrate my dad).

Next up, this trio I made with the Tuscan Vineyard set from page 95 of the Annual Catalog:

This card was water colored with the watercolor pencils on very vanilla card stock. The accent colors are old olive and rich razzleberry.

This card (and the next one) were made with our crumb cake note cards and I colored very lightly with elegant eggplant ink, the stamping was done in crumb cake and elegant eggplant.

This one is my favorite from my little trio, I water-colored with garden green and elegant eggplant ink. The “thanks” is from Cottage Greetings. These were fun and simple to color and put together. Great to make up a bunch and have on hand for thank you card when you need them!

I hope my post inspired you to try some water-coloring! I would love to hear from you, I treasure your comments! Thanks.
