Sheltering Tree Frame Class

Hi there Stamping Friends,

I was pretty happy to finally make something on my long list of projects this past weekend. I had been wanting to make a four seasons framed art piece since January when I found this frame at the Christmas Tree Store in Colonie. It took me a few tries to get the color combos that I thought would look nice together. I decided to mat all four pieces on a 4″x6″ piece of basic black card stock. I think it really helps it pop. I did have a couple problems, first was I didn’t know how to get the frame apart to slide the finished pieces inside. I ended up trying to pry the back off and ended up breaking one glass panel. I’m off to a local glass shop to get a new piece made, right now scotch tape is holding lovely “Spring” season in place. Hope you can’t notice that in the photo.

treeclass

So I’m offering this as a class, on Saturday May 2nd, three options either 10 am, 2 pm or 6:30 pm. I decided to offer three time slots as I know how busy everyone is and thought it would make sense to offer it morning, afternoon and evening. Plus, weekends are precious and few and some weeknights are out for me. Hopefully this will work well. This class is in my home, and will be a small group (I limit classes in my home to just 8 people as that’s what fits comfortably in my craft room).

This is a $25 class which includes the stamp set Sheltering Tree.

Here’s a flyer with all the details: 4 Seasons class

Let me know if you have any questions… hope you can attend this fun class what a great Mother’s Day or birthday gift for someone special!

Prepayment and registration is due by April 22nd by 8 pm… that is my birthday and I’d love to be putting in a nice big order of stamps for this class! Hope you can make it!

Thanks so much, feel free to pass this info on to your friends and family who might like to come and make these four season inserts. (You provide the frame).

Have a wonderful day!

April Club Projects…

Hi there Stamping Friends, hope you had a nice weekend! I know I sure did, minus my lengthy trip to the laundromat, guess I’ll be shopping for a new washer/dryer this week, never a dull moment.

Today’s post is about the three cards for my monthly stamping club. Right now I have two that occur in my home and one at a friend’s house up in Hudson Falls. I’m always open to starting new clubs, so if you’d like more info- contact me and I can help brainstorm with you. I may have some openings in July when my next round of clubs start up again (either Saturday mornings or Monday nights).

This month I wanted to feature some cards that could be used for our next holiday – Mother’s Day. The beauty of these three cards is that they can be used for other occasions as well.

First up, this watercolor card is a case (copy-and-share-everything) from Amy I. another talented SU demonstrator. The stamp set used is called Mother’s Love and I have this in Photopolymer which makes it so easy to line up and stamp right where you want it.

IMG_1751

The colors I used are three of the 2014-2016 In-Colors- Lost Lagoon, Blackberry Bliss and Mossy Meadow. Glad these colors will be here another year, love them.

Next up is a card that I cased from Laura Milligan’s website made by another talented Stampin’ Up! demonstrator named Mary Waring that she received as a swap. I loved the use of Strawberry Slush and Elegant Eggplant together with the daffodil delight center, just an adorable card suitable for any occasion! I have to say of all the new floral stamp sets in the spring Occasions catalog, this Petal Potpourri bundle is one of my favorites!

aprilclub6

Some of my talented club friends stepped it up a notch and added some additional charm to this card:

IMG_1803

Last but not least is a card that incorporates a part of the Artisan kit (the beautiful rose stencil) and the stamp set called Painted Petals.  I also picked this set in Photopolymer because you can get such a gorgeous overlay and so easy to see where you are stamping. Love this so much.

aprilclub4

I have to say that I later found a card made by Jan Tink, it might have been on Pinterest and I internalized it or something… does that ever happen to you, a delayed inspiration?? Anyway, one of my club members, and downline, changed hers up a bit too, isn’t this gorgeous?

aprilclub2

So three pretty cards that my club ladies could use for many occasions.

aprilclbu3

I have been toying with an idea for some time now, wondering if you would be interested in a “Class to Go” option? I would feature one stamp set and then prepare 3 to 4 projects (mostly cards) and you would purchase the stamp set and receive all the card stock, die cuts, buttons, ribbons, etc that you would need along with directions both written and a private link to a video on how to make the cards. Well, does that sound like something you would like? I know that the upcoming summer months will be challenging with so many various vacation and travel plans, so let me know if you might be interested. I’m going to spend some time this month on my first Class to Go option, let me know if you’d like more info.

Well thanks for stopping my my blog today, and thanks for all who shopped online and enjoyed the free shipping special last week, wasn’t that wonderful? Thank you!!

Happy Monday!

Butterflies Thinlits Update…

Good morning Friends, Here’s some interesting news on our Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Website this morning- wanted to share this with you:

Like you, we sincerely hoped that the Butterflies Thinlits Dies would arrive in time for Sale-A-Bration, and when that didn’t happen, again like you, we hoped they would be here in time for our Free Shipping promotion. Unfortunately, that is not going to be the case.

Originally they were scheduled to arrive by April 8; we then received notification from our supplier that although the ship had reached the west coast port, the container containing the Thinlits was still on the ship. We have since received verification from a third party that the vessel is still in the port–and though it docked on Friday, April 3, the container with the Thinlits has yet to be pulled.

Because the container has yet to be discharged from the vessel, the soonest the Butterflies Thinlits will arrive in our warehouse is the beginning of the week of April 13; our best estimate for orderability, based on this information, is April 15.

We realize you  may be disappointed you were not able to purchase the Thinlits in time to receive Sale-A-Bration rewards–especially in the discounted bundles. Therefore, from the day Butterflies Thinlits are again available through April 30, we are bringing you two special offers:

  1. Get the Butterflies Thinlits at a 15 percent discount–just $21.20!
  2. Buy any of the Butterflies Thinlits Bundles at the already-discounted price and choose one of three FREE Sale-A-Bration items (only available while supplies last)!
Best Year Ever Designer Series Paper (item 138633)
Best Year Ever Accessory Pack (item 138634)
Irresistibly Yours Specialty Designer Series Paper (item 138635)

Check back next week to see if the Butterfly Thinlits are available to order.

here are the order codes should you need them:

137360: Butterflies Thinlits Dies
139322: Butterfly Bundle (Wood mount stamp set plus butterflies thinlit dies)
139323: Butterfly Bundle (Clear mount stamp set plus butterflies thinlits dies)

Thank you to all who came out to shop and visit me! I really appreciate your support! I did very well, made some great new contacts, and of course shopped amongst some awesome vendors as well!

There was a young lady at my booth taking lots of pictures with an awesome camera, at first I thought she was a teenager doing something for the firehouse, but after chatting with her, I learned she works for the Daily Gazette and is doing a piece for their weekly online edition for Clifton Park. I’m going to try to find it and see what she posts- if any of you see it, please let me know!

In other news- there are only 3 days of Sale-a-bration left! Did you get all the great exclusive products you wanted?

Creative Inkling Blog Hop- Spring Has Sprung!

creative hop

Hello Everyone! Happy Spring! Can you believe it is finally here? What a long winter. Here in upstate NY we saw more snow than we’ve seen in decades. It’s still here actually, lots of snowbanks and lawn is still covered, but the end is in sight. I’m thrilled to be back again with our monthly Creative Inking Blog Hop! What fun last month, right? (although I feel bad if anyone rushed to get blendabilities markers- by now I’m sure you’ve heard the sad news that these alcohol markers are now discontinued.  If you have questions about your blendabilities, get in touch with your demonstrator so she can help you if they are defective or unopened.)

Now on to good news, Easter is around the corner and I love making cute Easter cards for my nieces and nephews. In fact, I picked this theme for the swap theme for my monthly downline get together which was this week as well. I love when I can create one card and use it for multiple events.

Here is the finished card- 2 versions actually one with button and one without, which one do you prefer?

IMG_1239

Do you know how I got those fun tie-dye colors?

IMG_1243

Yup, you are right- our reinkers and markers!  Let me tell you I have been having so much fun making colorful Easter eggs with this baby wipe technique. You take a new (wet) baby wipe, fold it up in half, add reinkers to the area you need (estimate your stamp size or mark it off somehow- you want more ink than stamp- you are making your own custom ink pad!) Make sure you pick colors that blend well together because they will bleed.

We used it in club this month too for our cute Easter Basket and treats- here’s a photo of that so you can see another project using baby wipe technique:

IMG_1185

When we made this Easter tag, I only used 4 colors (reinkers): Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, and Tempting Turquoise… but I felt it needed more, so for this Easter card, I added to it:

IMG_1242

Can you tell what the new 5th color is?

IMG_1241

It’s Pistachio Pudding! Don’t you love how it blends with these brights?? Well, I need to remind you that Pistachio Pudding is one of the 2013-15 In Colors, which means it is retiring from the In-Color collection in just a few weeks. If you love them, stock up on your reinkers, paper and embellishments before we run out.

IMG_1238

To make the three chicks on the top row, I stamped the whole stamp in Daffodil Delight ink pad, then used a q-tip to wipe off the flower, bunny ears, and egg… then added color with our markers and be sure to give a “huff” of your breath before you stamp- the moisture will help get good coverage from using the marker as an ink pad. Hope you give this fun technique a try!!

So there are all my swaps for my team get-together. Our Lynnzcrafters team is really growing- we had four new ladies join up this month alone. I feel so blessed with the love and friendships that have been created through stamping! I’ll be forever grateful for that first catalog I discovered in 2004… little did I know that four years later I would be a demo myself. I have no regrets- other than I wish I had signed up earlier! I have met the most talented, generous, supportive people at both Stampin’ Up! and throughout all the groups I’m in. I have wonderful support from my upline and sidelines (like brothers and sisters). I could go on and on, but suffice to say- I think YOU should take advantage of our awesome $99 starter kit deal (pick $125 in products, pick either 1 free kit from Spring Occasions Catalog OR 2 free Saleabration choices), free shipping and all the perks that go along with joining Stampin’ Up! If you want to learn more, leave me a comment- I’d love to have you join my team! We are really growing.

AND- don’t forget- tomorrow (Saturday March 21st) is our HUGE BOGO SALE- my Lynnzcrafters Team and I are holding this at my church- the Burnt Hills United Methodist Church at 816 Route 50 (Saratoga Road), Burnt Hills NY 12027 from 10 am to 2 pm. BOGO means Buy One Get One Free – you pick out our Retired stamps, punches, dies, paper, tools, inks, etc and you’ll get to pick out the equivalent in new catalog product (just add tax and shipping)- so you’re getting double the crafty goodies!! Hope you can join us!! We also have a free card making station for the first 50 people AND a little goodie bag for the first 40 customers who pay in cash. (We can accept local checks, and credit cards – using my Square Reader- Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express).  *please note this photo is from my sale last year, many items may be sold already. things are in boxes, but I’ll take a new photo when we’re all set up and I’ll post it on Facebook.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and March Projects

Top O’ the Morning to ya! (can you hear my Irish brogue??)

Happy St. Patrick’s Day, I wanted to share some special cards I made over the past 2 weeks:

IMG_1102 IMG_1099 IMG_1100 IMG_1101 IMG_1098

A few of these you did see before- as I entered two of them in the Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge on 3/9 and I’m happy to say they picked one of my cards as their “Artist’s Pick”- YIPPEE! So excited about that!

I think I’ve shared with you that I don’t repeat cards/projects in my various events. So when I plan my club projects- I usually don’t repeat them, but this weekend I had my OpportuniTEA event and was so tickled pink to have some fun ladies over- and wanted them to make a tea related project and an Easter basket. Here’s what the OpportuniTEA event from Sunday looked like:

IMG_1214 IMG_1216 IMG_1217 IMG_1218 IMG_1221 IMG_1222

Well all three guests agreed to sign up and as of this moment Sharon has officially joined under Jamie- Congratulations to you both! And now Jamie just earned a promotion to Senior Supervisor (that’s really good Kudos Jamie!). Carol is also going to sign up under Jamie too! Yippee- Jamie’s Gems are growing! And I had great luck with Laurie signing up on Saturday after club- it was a spur of the moment decision that was guided by my friend (and downline Amye) telling her “if you just spend $40 more you can get a lot of free stuff by joining” I love that logic- sometimes it’s the “savings” and “earning free Stampin’ Up! goodies” that clinches it, you know?  And then Brigid also agreed to sign up! Amye has a recruit on the way this week, so this is really a week full of BLESSINGS beyond measure. I feel like the divine hand of God is at play, and this is my third Anniversary since my surgery for endometrial cancer- so I’m feeling extra blessed for sure.

Last, but certainly not least- are my March club projects- everyone loved them, and I’m so glad I could bring some Easter joy through stamping to all these special ladies:

If these projects don’t scream “Spring is coming” I don’t know what does! Which one do you like the best? They were fun to create- I had some inspiration from Pinterest for the little chick. Also was inspired by Aly S. for the “hi” card using the new Saleabration items- I used three of our new March options just on that one card- can you spot them all?

Well, that it’s for now, I have to head in to work early to get the crock pot going- we’re having an Irish lunch today and I can’t wait.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day and be safe out there, thanks for visiting my blog! Come back on Friday- I’m in another Blog Hop and you’ll love all the spring and Easter projects and inspiration from the other 12 demonstrators and myself too of course.
