2nd Annual Christmas Retreat

Hi there friends, First of all, I want to wish all of you a very Happy Thanksgiving! May your turkey be juicy and your potatoes not lumpy!

Did you notice anything new here on my blog?? How do you like my new header and buttons? The amazing Justin Krieger of jkcardsonline.com created all my new elements!! Didn’t he do a fabulous job? I feel like such a grown up! The owls were cute, but I’ve had them for over 6 years now, time for a blog and Facebook make-over. I have matching business cards and return address labels now too. I’d love to know what you think!

Last, but not least, I wanted to share some photos of my 2nd (Annual) Creative Christmas Retreat! I started this event last year, I wanted a way to include everyone on my team at an all day crafting event. They couldn’t all attend, so I invited some special friends to fill up the room. I’m thankful to have been able to have this event at the Clifton Park Elks again this year, and Mike Bloss outdid himself with delicious spread for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Friends brought some yummy snacks to share as well!

I found this terrific game online and thought this would be perfect for the ladies to play throughout the day and earn some raffle tickets!

This area is the lending library, I brought dozens of my stamps, punches, dies, big shots, and paper cutters.

This ballroom is huge, and provided us with ample space for crafting all day!

You can see Kathy and Amye hard at work helping me to set up each spot.

My fabulous helpers Kathy, Amye, and Patty helped me set the room up so everyone had a nice work area and their Stampin’ Up! products and gifts were waiting for them at their spot. Everyone received this canvas zippered tote bag, ceramic mug, Let it Snow embellishment kit, Jingle Bells, Snowflake Sequins, and Snowfall Accents Puff Paint! Then the items inside the snowman gift bag were all the pre-cut paper supplies they used to assemble my 8 Make and Take projects! The hot cocoa here was for one of the M&Ts.

we had this cute little hot cocoa station and the girls were able to use their own mug that was part of their gift.

Could you guess what my theme was? Let it snow… How cute is this little snowman sign?

I feel so blessed that my team and friends from near and far were able to come together for this day. My friend Jacki came all the way from New Hampshire! And Nancy, Addie and Susan are my bingo regulars, so happy they could join us!

Nellie came all the way from Saugerties! Sue and Theresa came from Queensbury! And Amye didn’t have far to travel, but she came early and stayed late to help me with set up and clean up! Thanks friend!

Three of these ladies (Lisa, Jess and Nicole) came from Johnstown. I’m so touched that so many traveled a great distance to come to this event! Look at those sharp Ott lights Cindy and Sheila brought, cool right?

Laurie came over last week to help me punch and die cut almost everything we needed for all the M&Ts. Patty also helped with set up and clean up. Thanks friends. Molly and Jill made some gorgeous cards!

Pam and Elizabeth came from the North Country and they joined Annette, Mandy and Linda at this table.

MaryBeth helped me out by cutting out all the candy canes we needed for a M&T, thanks MB! Kathy is always there for me, every event, she is my right arm and such a treasured friend, thanks Kath!  Gail and Tiffany joined them here.

Last but not least, these four friends joined us for the first time, many thanks Barb, Chelsea, Jen and Bobbi for attending!

Altogether we had 30 people come to stamp for the day, I did have two who weren’t able to make it and I’m still working on their projects for them… hopefully I’ll get a chance to finish them this weekend.

I used all the hostess rewards from placing all the retreat orders and got 5 raffle bundles and they were able to put their tickets in whatever bag they wanted.

My friend Amye made these cute mugs, can you see what it says? “Sip, stamp, repeat”. She used her cricket and vinyl to make these. Thank you so much for donating two of your mugs to the raffle!

Ready to see the projects everyone made?

The gold pizza Box featuring Perfectly Plaid bundle, this can hold a small gift, jewelry, candy or even a gift card.

Some delicious Ghirardelli Hot Cocoa and stick candy canes.

Some cool mint tic-tacs

This beautiful ice skate card could easily be turned into a gift card holder as well.

This little snow globe shaker card was the only die cutting the ladies needed to get up to cut on their own… The Night Before Christmas Memories and More card pack with envelopes was the base of the card.

The mini curvy keepsakes dies are amazing, I saw this cute snowman on Pinterest and couldn’t believe how easy it was to make!

The copper tea tins hold more than tea- you can fit some homemade chex mix, fudge, cookies, hot cocoa, tea bags, or even a gift card in here!

Last but not least, this little pillow box was a breeze to put together, the heart is from the dog punch, and then the Christmas cups of cheer dies made the perfect snowman cup. This held some marshmellows and could fit another gift card.

Next time I’ll share all the winners of the prizes and the gifts I gave everyone throughout the day, I’ve got to run and get some of my Thanksgiving meal prep going here.

Thank you for visiting my blog today! Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

Love,
Lynn

Glitter & Glam Girls Holiday Ideas

Hello Crafty Friends!

Hope you are doing well, and here it is November already, and hopefully you are getting ready for Christmas and our wonderful winter Holidays! I have been frantically planning my 2nd Annual Crafty Christmas Retreat, Onstage swaps and team gifts, my clubs, Stamp-a-Stacks and Bingo nights. There is so little time, so I have to plan things out in stages and with deadlines.

A few weeks ago I had a special day for the girls on my team who earned a special day with me I call it Way to Go Day! I have this special event once every quarter and it is for the top four in sales and anyone who promotes in title or recruits a new demonstrator. There are always gifts, a yummy meal and of course creating something FUN!

Here is one of the special projects we made:

This 12″ x 12″ shadow box frame was inspired by my friend Christine- I saw a sampler she shared on facebook with this designer series paper, and I knew that was going to be my base.

Here are the dimensions:

Whisper White 12″ x 12″ is the base

Coastal Cabana, nine squares are 3″ x 3″

Flirty Flamingo on 4 squares and then 5 Blueberry Bushel are 2 3/4″ x 2 3/4″

Designer Series Paper and Whisper White squares are 2 1/2″ x 2 1/2″.

See supply list below.

Whirlwind Fun…Monthly Team Get Together!

Hi Stamping Friends!

Without a doubt, one of the best perks of being a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator is getting together with other demos for stamping fun! This month (Thursday night to be exact) was our Whirlwind Stampers get together led by my awesome upline Dania Welch! I help her organize the sign ups for M&T’s, attending, and swapping. I really look forward to seeing this group of talented demos every month- it is “stamping therapy time”- one thing we all agree on, is getting together with people with similar interests is a fun de-stressor from real life.

Anyway- this month’s projects were just out of this world- look at these amazing cards:

11050946_10152630500086781_352567663_nFirst card was created by one of my uber talented downline- Amye! Don’t you just adore these colors together? And I was looking to extend one of my stems- I discovered another wonderful feature of photopolymer stamps- I could bend the bottom half that I didn’t need around to the back of the block so it didn’t get in my way- so awesome to have stamps so flexible you can change their shape!! If you haven’t received your Lotus Blossom stamp set yet- this is the LAST month of Sale-a-bration so you can still earn this baby for FREE- just place a $50 order and you can select this as your free SAB item.

11056990_10152630500236781_479094256_n

Next up was this awesome card and box project brought to us by the amazing Anne K! She used her Paper Pumpkin this month and changed up the card design just a bit…don’t you just love this SPRING accordion card?? Love the colors and hope this helps us really bring spring forward soon!

11040764_10152630500281781_1489871826_n

I forgot to add pearls to my butterflies, will definitely add them as it is gorgeous with them! Isn’t this a great gift to give someone who needs a ‘pick me up’? Or just lovely home décor for your mantle. Paper Pumpkin refill kit for this month is on my next order, another perk of PP is that you can purchase any available past kits or refills that you want. Love it!

11051261_10152630500216781_1624739823_n

Last, but definitely not least- is this amazing masculine card by Dania! Can you tell the sentiment is embossed? It really pops, it was nice to get a closer look at this stamp set as I’ve been wondering if I should get it or not, you got it- going on my next order. The designer paper is a stack, and I’m getting that too- as it’s a bundle for 15% off retail.

We decided to go back to our small 2″ square samplers for our swaps this month. People have to sign up by a certain date (two demos in our group live far away so they mail their swaps so they can participate long distance). I plan to mount these over the weekend and get them in a frame- just beautiful work – I love every one of these swaps! Can you tell which one is mine? So fun to make them!

Just a reminder that our $5 off paper pumpkin 3 month subscription is almost over- if you want to get the March kit- purchase this pre-paid subscription by Tuesday March 10th at midnight (and make sure you follow the directions in the email you will receive to redeem the kit- you must sign in to your account and fill in your address by March 10th to get this month’s kit). **Please let me know if you’d like me to do this step for you- I’m happy to help you!  Or if you want to just go and sign up for monthly kit ($19.95 per month includes shipping; just add tax):

https://mypaperpumpkin.com?demoid=2043263

I sent out my March Monthly e-Newsletter with all my classes, events, team get togethers and news yesterday to my customers and downline. If you didn’t receive it, and you’d like to see what I’m offering, here is a link to my newsletter- I welcome anyone to attend my classes- whether you are a new stamper, experienced, a demo or former demo- all are welcome. I do adhere to sign up deadlines and pre-registration as I have so many supplies to order and don’t want to plan an event and then have cancelations… that’s no fun and a huge waste of time and materials for me. I hope you understand, I am trying my hardest to run a stamping business, as well as meet all my customer’s needs, not easy at all… but I try to always do my best for you.

March Newsletter and Events

Well that’s all for today- thanks so much for stopping by to read my blog! I hope you have some crafty fun planned this weekend! Would love to hear from you- I really treasure each comment and thank you for taking time out of your busy day for me!

Awesome Christmas Party!

Hi Friends! How are you? I have missed you!

I have quite a few things to share with you today!

catty

The other night Stampin’ Up! sponsored a new Occasions Catalog (and Sale-a-bration) Catalog Kick off Party again! Many of my team members and I went to Crossgates mall for the viewing. A bunch of us met for dinner first at The Standard, a yummy Italian restaurant (very Frank Sinatra-ish interior):

catty2

While I wish every single one of my Lynnzcrafters team could have attended too, it is such a busy time of year. Glad that Tiffany, Amye, Jamie, Tina and Molly were able to attend.

catty4

We had two demos join us as their uplines were not there, we had fun with Anne and Audrey!

catty5

Interestingly, Jamie won prize patrol (again!) so happy for her, and it is such a beautiful new stamp set!!

catty3

And here are the two new catalogs that will launch on January 6th, 2015… and this is an awesome new stamp set that we all went home with too!

dania xmas

Last night was our annual Christmas Party at my upline Dania’s house, look at this yummy Cranberry cocktail she made for us… it was delicious!

dania xmas2

Dania had this amazing project for our Make-and-Take! She ordered some galvanized metal flashing so we turned these frames into magnetic boards. How cute??

dania xmas3

Here’s Sheila, Tiffany and Judy with their boards.

dania xmas4

Not sure why Dania is hiding, but here she is with Anne, Karyn and Amye making their memo boards. So fun!

dania xmas5

A highlight of the party is our annual Christmas Grab Bag… there are a few rules: wrap a handmade gift valued around $10 in a plain brown bag. We draw numbers, and the person who has #1 opens the first gift, then person who has #2 can either steal the first gift, or open a new one. We have a “three steals and it is frozen” rule. Also “you can’t go home with your own gift rule”. This was an amazing year of awesome one-of-a-kind and spectacular gifts! They were all Steal-worthy!!

Here is the gift that I made:

plxmas2

It is a Project Life album, in the now sold-out Cherry Cobbler color. I heat embossed the snowflakes on the cover using whisper white embossing powder. I had an extra snowflake embellishment from my Many Merry Stars Kit, and I applied metallic silver ink to turn it silver. I used some other products to jazz it up, what do you think??

pl xmas

I also made a few inserts for one of the pages, just some quick and simple stamping on some 3″ x 4″ whisper white rectangles.

Be sure to come back and visit me tomorrow, to see the gift I came home with- it’s much more than one gift- it’s going to take about 20 photos to show you my gift, can’t wait to show you!

Also, you will make 1 Easter Card and 1 Easter Treat Holder (these are not pictured)
This class is $15 or it will be discounted as follows: class only $5 if you place a $25 order with me that day, or
Even better- the class is free with a $50 order with me that day (you would also earn a free Sale-a-bration item too!)

Then from 4-6 pm is the Spring Framed Class which will include 9 squares and a Spring Card (not pictured)
This class is also $15 or it will be discounted as follows: class only $5 if you place a $25 order with me that day, or
Even better- the class is free with a $50 order with me that day (you would also earn a free Sale-a-bration item too!)

*Now here’s the great part- if you sign up for both classes, discount of $25 class fee or only $20 class fee for both with a $25 order
Or if you place a $50 order, get both classes for only $10 and if you place a $100 order, both classes are free and you get 2 Sale-a-bration items
If you place a $100 order with me that day, not only do you get both classes free, and 2 Sale-a-bration items, but you’ll also get a $10 gift card from me as my thanks!

Space is limited to 8 people per event.

I will have snacks and beverages.
If you are signing up for both classes, of course you can “stay” in between and have some snacks, or get started early on the next project.

Please respond by 5 pm Thursday 3/20 if you are interested so I can plan/prep accordingly.

If you are interested in placing an order, head over to my online store at: http://LynnStreifert.Stampinup.net

when you are shopping, type in this hostess code: GPQC3CWG

This hostess code will link you to me, my name will pop up as the hostess. Every month, if there are enough qualifying orders from customers ($150 or more in orders), then I pull a winner of hostess benefits and/or other prizes. Sometimes the orders are smaller and I may choose to select a winner of a gift certificate with me, off any of my classes or events.

Since this is the last month of Sale-a-bration, it is a good time to put in at least a $50 order, as you can pick a free item from Sale-a-bration. (I have a link to the sale-a-bration flyer over on the side bar of this blog).

Now is the perfect time to plan your spring cards, home decor, Easter projects and don’t forget Mother’s Day is around the corner. These items would work perfectly in any of your papercrafting!

Oh What Fun, banners and more!

Hi There Stamping Friends!

Have you noticed that my blog posts are not coming as often as they once were?? I’m sorry about that- here’s a nice long post so you can catch up on some creations and projects I’ve been working on.

First of all, so proud of our Girl Scout troop #2637, on Veteran’s Day the girls made over 50 Thanksgiving cards for the annual Equinox Thanksgiving Meals delivery program. They did such an awesome job, and I was thrilled that they wanted to continue in that generous spirit and last night they came over to my house again and we made over 100 Christmas cards for the “Holidays for Heroes” program sponsored by the Red Cross. The girls quickly decided they’d have more time to create cards if they didn’t have to slow down to write on the inside of each card, so they dictated to me a little saying that we all agreed on, and I printed on the computer.

There was plenty of giggling, stamping, punching and getting to know our 2 newest members of our troop. The girls learned more about what “deployment” means, and we talked about one of the rules for card making “no glitter”… when I asked the girls if they knew why that was a rule one of them raised their hand and said “so the enemy doesn’t find them and kill them”. Of course she was right, but I didn’t think a 3rd grader would know all that.  Anyway- they surprised and impressed me, and were so grateful and kind and sweet, my heart just melted watching them having such a good time. Here’s a couple pictures of the girls in action:

gs cards4

gs cards2

gs cards6

I just adore that she signed this one… girls who care indeed!! ❤

gs cards5

This one is so special, one girl wrote “thank you” inside each star…

gs cards3

And here they are, all 114 cards in all… notice anything special? One girl took great pride in organizing the completed cards into color families- I was impressed… might have to hire her to help me clean and organize my craft room.

gs cards

There is so much more I could say about last night, it was one of those nights that you’re just so blessed and thankful to have such wonderful children in your life. If you’re reading this Patty- thank you for asking me to help you this year with the troop, I am loving every minute of being your co-leader and looking forward to making more memories and doing important service project with our girls.

Today has been a super fun kind of day, I had 2 events today- my Christmas Banner class was this morning and each person signed up for either “JOY” in silver/blue or “MERRY” in red/green.

banner4

joy banner3

How many people does it take to make one rosette???? 3 apparently. Too funny, and some nice tips and tricks to get these together.

amy banner

I didn’t get to take a picture of each person’s banner because I had to run downstairs and pull apart the pork shoulder I had been cooking in my crock-pot. I invited these ladies, and my team for lunch as I knew I wouldn’t have much time between banner class this morning and my team get together this afternoon.

Thanks to Jamie’s wonderful recipe (same one we made on our girls weekend get away up to Lake Luzerne last month) we enjoyed a delicious meal together:

healthy lunch

Then we moved into more stamping fun, and created some beautiful framed art…I came up with the red (actually Cherry Cobbler) version as an alternate as some don’t decorate their home in blue/silver:

silver

christmas frame

What one do you like better? Either of these creations could be mounted inside either 8×8, 8×10 or 12×12 shadow box frame. I did one in each size to show the options, and I helped a couple who brought their frames with them today.  This is a preview of the framed art class that I am doing Tuesday night… it was supposed to be our final class at the Elks for the Christmas series we put together, but we didn’t get enough people to sign up in time to use that big room. Luckily, I have 8 people coming on Tuesday, and they will get to choose which one they want to make. To make my life even easier, Amye wanted to make both framed art pieces, so I am going to offer it to my club ladies for our December club projects. What a way to wrap up my clubs for 2013, right? Hope they all decide to re-up for our next term January-June. I’m working on the calendar for that this weekend too.

Well, thanks so much for stopping by to read my blog. Don’t forget that we have MANY awesome deals going on prior to Black Friday, did you print the flyer with all the sales? Here it is again, if you need it:

http://su-media.s3.amazonaws.com/media/docs/holiday_sale/Holiday_Sale_Flyer_US.pdf

I hope you have a fantastic weekend!

Advent Calendar Project

Two years ago I took a class with one of my wonderful uplines (Deb Valder) and made an awesome Advent Calendar. Several people asked me to have a class and I attempted to do so at least 3 times in the past 2 years…. health issues and time/prep/materials were barriers. About a month ago, my friend Elizabeth asked if I could PLEASE do the advent calendar while her mom was up from Florida, and she invited another dear friend, Linda too. So Saturday I found my advent calendar and prepped all the big shot pieces, cut all the paper and packed my boxes and bags. I was so happy to go up north and have a fun stamping day yesterday with these awesome ladies, but I was also glad to finally honor a “commitment”, when I say I’ll do something, I try to do it. I don’t make commitments lightly. Because 90% of the materials used for this advent calendar are retired now, I will not be offering this as a class.  But I thought you might enjoy seeing how we spent our afternoon yesterday (stamping, punching, glueing and assembling).

What do you think? It was truly a labor of love. Some people may think I’m “rushing things” by starting to post pictures of the holidays… but really it is a time of year when hand-made gifts are so special- why not get started in the summer, when you have a little more time?

Have a wonderful day, I hope you do something crafty!!

Tea Time Dry Erase Board

Today I had the pleasure of spending time with my wonderful upline, Dania Welch, in her stamping studio… this was the project she planned for us (she made hers in the Epic Day This and That DSP). My kitchen and dining room walls are light yellow so I thought the Gingham Garden DSP would look great. It is a 12 x 12 frame, once you design your page and put it under the glass, you can dangle trinkets to hang on top of the glass, and then a dry erase marker is used to write messages, grocery list, recipe, and more. It was so fun to make!

We used punches, oval framelits, and banners… what do you think? I treasured this 1-1 time with Dania and we really got some details worked out for some upcoming events… more details on that another day.

Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of this project.

12x12 framed art, Gingham Garden Sampler

12×12 Sampler… Gingham Garden

gingham squares framed

Hi There Stamping Friends… what do you think of my framed Sampler? These are the squares we swapped at our last get together at Dania’s team… the squares are 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches. Background paper is Strawberry Slush. There are several stamps, punches, and embellishments used here. I am wondering who would like to take this as a class? I was going to go hunting for more of these shadow box frames, then I realized I could keep the cost lower by having you buy your own frames (hey you might have those 40% off coupons to those other stores!)
So let me know if you’d like to take this class. You will make 9 squares and can either turn it into 12 x 12 framed art, or use for gift tags, or turn into full size cards.

The cost of this class is $15, and you will need your own scissors, adhesives, trimmer, and shadow box frame. (Do not purchase a flat glass frame as there are many embellishments on this project).

I have a couple possibilities for this class, please let me know if you are interested in Saturday morning June 29th (9-11:30 am) or Monday July 8th (6:30-9pm), or let me know if you are interested in making this sampler but neither of these dates work for you.

Hope to stamp with you soon!
