When I heard the theme was “Black, White and Whatever You’d Like” (another Color that is) I wanted to showcase some of my favorite new Stampin’ Up! products, and one is hot off the press! For this blog hop we always create a card and a 3D item. A few years ago Becky Roberts (Inking Idaho) had shared some gifts she made with the wooden cases by adding a kitchen drawer pull handle. Then I made some for one of my bingo nights last year. Then my upline sent me this empty one from a recent event she had. I decided to repurpose this one to use for my “Watercoloring To Go Kit”. You see, I love to watercolor with our new watercoloring pencils, and I thought it would be great to showcase this idea (what a great get well gift for someone in the hospital or rehab, right?)

Anyway, I wanted to stick with the theme “Black, White and whatever you like”… so I picked the accent color Bermuda Bay. With our brand new addition to Sale-a-bration on 2/21 of this gorgeous glimmer paper- I thought you’d like to see it in action- what do you think of my dragonflies??

The wooden case has a protective cover so you can easily slip your creation inside… (didn’t realize how much glitter dust lingered on the scene after I slipped it inside, oops).

As you can see, the new watercoloring pencils, one aqua painter, one blender pen, and a small pencil sharpener as well as several card bases/images fit comfortably inside!

What a handy carrying case for watercoloring! (Also, the watercoloring pencils have been much more popular than Stampin’ Up! predicted, so they are only available while supplies last (they were turned off for a few weeks, but we did get another shipment). They are true Stampin’ Up! colors and I LOVE them!!

When I give this as a gift, I would put the dragonflies inside an envelope and add some glue dots, so they could first watercolor, then accent with the dragonflies when the cards are complete.

Here is the glimmer paper- three gorgeous colors: Bermuda Bay, Mint Macaron, and Sweet Sugarplum (this is a pack of 6″x6″ glimmer paper, you get 4 each of these three colors).

Here is the flyer with all of the new Sale-a-bration items that Stampin’ Up! is adding as of February 21st! I predict this glimmer paper is going to fly off the shelves, it is yummy!!

(Demonstrators only can “preorder” these new items, otherwise they go live on Tuesday February 21st).

    1. It’s not a silly question at all, happy to help – the stamp cases are on page 183 of the big annual catalog. These are the wide stamp cases, the full size. It is the same as what wood mount stamp sets come in.

  1. I love everything you did. Beautiful! I’m a SUD! I’d love to make something like this for my ladies for Mother’s Day, and my mother also. She’s in a nursing home. I have no idea how to do something like this. But, I am grateful for the idea.

    1. Thank you so much for your comment, Becky Roberts from Inking Idaho had directions on her blog over a year ago if you Google it I’m sure you can figure it out. It is not difficult but you do need a drill and the hardware from either Home Depot or Lowe’s, good luck!
