Lynnzcrafters Team BBQ!

Hi there stamping friends, I hope you are having a wonderful week! I am so blessed to have such an amazing team of friends and talented crafters on my Lynnzcrafters team! One of my downline, Amye, volunteered to have us all over to her adorable house for a picnic dinner in her gorgeous yard. What a fun night we had eating, visiting, swapping, talking about the sneak peek’s of Stampin’ Up!’s Holiday Catalog! as demonstrators we are able to watch video segments each day to see new products before we can order them in our pre-order on August 2. What a wonderful time to be a demonstrator, you will absolutely love the new products coming this fall. I had brought along the Oh Happy Day kit so we could do a little stamping, but it got dark and we enjoyed just the fellowship together. Amazing to have so much fun and we didn’t even stamp.

We had enough food for the whole neighborhood it was all delicious!

The theme of the swaps this month was kids cards. Here is the card Sheila made, how cute?

Judy made this awesome very hungry Catapillar card!

What a perfect birthday card for a little boy, this card was made by Kim!

Our newest team member, Lisa, jumped right in with swaps, so proud of her and look at this awesome card!

And Carol made this super cute owl card, who wouldn’t love to receive this one?

Sharon’s robot card is extra shiny, she embossed  it in silver, what a perfect kid card!

What a fun and colorful birthday card by Laurie, love these colors together!

Look at how creative Brigid was creating this monster card using punches, love the new sprinkles punch as this creatures hair and arms!

And last but certainly not least is this beautiful card by our wonderful hostess Amye! Can you tell that there’s a layer of vellum paper over the jar with fireflies? So sweet!

I had a crazy busy weekend and was traveling so I did not sign up to swap, but here are the girls swapping their cards with each other. A swap is where you make a certain number of cards and trade with each other and go home with all different ones. It’s a great way to add a variety of cards to your home card collection.

Every month I have a basket of prizes that I select for my team from the current catalog. They fill out a brief quiz, and tally up points based on their prior months sales, crafting, and knowledge of the Stampin’ Up! specials. It’s usually just 10 questions and then the person with the most points picks the first prize out of the basket. And we go down until everyone has a prize.

This is where I stop taking pictures unfortunately. The prizes were great, the desserts were delicious and the evening was a big success! Everyone brought a dish to share and we just really enjoyed time together.

A million thanks to our gracious hostess Amye!

Let me know if you have any questions about becoming a demonstrator or you would like to join our team we would love to have you!

Have a great day!

* I apologize if I mixed up any of the swap cards, ladies please let me know if I’ve got anything wrong up above.

Well, that’s it for today, thanks so much for visiting me and remember, if you are thinking of ordering anything this month, please use Hostess Code: H7MFRJPW

Stampin Friends Summer Fun

img_4591

Welcome to the July issue of our Stampin Friends Blog Hop -where the theme this month is Summer Fun! I am so excited about this theme, and I can’t wait to see what everyone has created this month! I’d like to welcome to our three guest bloggers this month:

  1. Twila Davis,
  2. Robyn Rasset and
  3. Cindy Waldroff

I don’t know about you, but in the summer I like to spend time with my family doing fun things. I’m pretty lucky to live very close to my siblings, nieces and nephews and feel blessed that we enjoy time together and love going to the movies, on fun outings, trips, swimming and going for ice cream! After taking the kids to see the new Disney- Pixar movie Finding Dory, I was smitten with all the little fish and critters.  We absolutely loved it, roared with laughter- such a fun movie!

FINDING_DORY_-_Key_Art

Then this past weekend we made a spontaneous trip to the Syracuse Zoo (the Rosamond-Gifford Zoo) which was about two hours away from us. As you enter the zoo, the first exhibit is the aquarium! Such awesome fish and marine life! We loved it!

So my projects today were inspired by Finding Dory and The Rosamond Gifford Zoo. I knew I had to feature our brand new stamp set called Seaside Shore and the coordinating products found in the By the Shore Suite on pages 92-93 of the new 2016-17 Annual Catalog. I love the colors in the By the Shore DSP, but I wanted to incorporate more blues that are seen in nature, so I used Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise card stock for the base of my two cards.

IMG_5521

My two seaside shaker cards- super fun and used real beach sand!!

IMG_5513

Cutting the window sheets about an 1/8″ smaller than the front of the card is helpful.

IMG_5514

Be sure your sand and shells are clean and dry!

IMG_5515

Word to the wise- move the fish up a little bit (or add less sand). I stamped the greeting on another piece of window sheet and then used glue dots to adhere the three fishes so they would be “inside” the faux water.

IMG_5517

I just adore our new foam adhesive strips- they worked perfectly for both of my shaker cards!

IMG_5516

For the second card I omitted the greeting, and added coral to the inside part of the card (which I strategically placed behind the fish).

IMG_5522

Then for my 3D project, I opted to try my hand at a mini aquarium- perfect for my office- these fish won’t die on me! I stamped with Stazon ink and then colored with Sharpies on the opposite side where I inked. Then I even brushed some of my clear wink of stella over them, which is hard to see. I used clear elastic thread (from my jewelry making stash) and used glue dots to adhere the fish to the clear thread.

Hi there Friends! Welcome to our July Blog Hop! I hope you are having a wonderful summer! Our theme this month is “Be a Big Shot”! and we are all featuring projects made with the Big Shot machine! I vividly remember when I bought my first Big Shot in September 2008 when Stampin’ Up! and Sizzix began their collaboration, and can hardly believe all the awesome products created through the years that are exclusive to Stampin’ Up! Our newest exclusive, limited time offer is the stunning new bundle called “Thoughtful Branches”.

Don’t you just love the gorgeous fonts in this set? Demonstrators are able to preorder this bundle in July, so glad I purchased mine last week. I had very limited time to play with this set, but the first idea I had was to create a beautiful fall tree… not that I’m rushing summer, but I just wanted to show you another option for this set. Did you know that Stampin’ Up! has created a whole Pinterest board with gorgeous samples? (here’s a link: https://www.pinterest.com/stampinup/thoughtful-branches-bundle/)

The leaves were created with the baby wipe technique (I used crushed curry, Cajun craze, and cherry cobbler reinkers).

This version was my first attempt, but I could tell right away that it needed something else.

I just knew I needed the new copper embossing powder and copper metallic thread on this card too.

You can order this bundle starting August 2nd (while supplies last). I would love to hear from you, please leave me a comment below. Now it’s time to go see what Phyllis has ready for us, just click the “next” button:

Oh Happy Day!

Hi crafty friends! One of the things that I just love is that Stampin’ Up! has amazing card kits!! I was able to pre-order this amazing new kit because I was an attendee at the April On-Stage event. I absolutely adore the watercolor wishes kit from last year and I’m so glad it carried over, aren’t you? The fonts of the greetings is just so special!

I love that the all-inclusive kits come with a clear block, stamps, ink, card supplies (all cut and scored for you) and envelopes. You just need adhesive to glue them together and add the embellishments. I could stamp the images in the kit, wherever I wanted (or exactly as the directions suggested). It makes for quick and easy crafting. You can truly have a creative escape, perfect to take on vacation, up to your camp, this box takes up very little space and yet in the end you will make 20 cards. Perfect for a weekend getaway, a crop, or just something to do in front of the television on a rainy night.

Creative Circle Blog Hop July 2016

cclogo

Hello crafty friends, and welcome to the next blog hop of the Creative Circle Design Team. I am still so thrilled to be a part of this talented group. This month we are showcasing the Sara D. purse that Liz Holloway designed and created for us to use with our Silhouette cameo machines, which is absolutely amazing! I can’t believe the time and effort she put into creating this design, and she created a You Tube video for us to follow to be about to put it together properly. (When you hop over to her page you will learn why it’s called the Sara D. purse). When I was trying to figure out what color schemes to use, and learning how to use my new e-machine, I decided to use the Affectionately Yours Suite of products by Stampin’ Up! (found on pages 44-45 of the new 2016-17 Annual Catalog… all products used are listed below).

IMG_5175

IMG_5163

How adorable is this purse?? It is very roomy inside, which would make this an awesome gift bag (make-up, jewelry, gift cards, and of course Stampin’ Up! supplies will fit very nicely inside!)

IMG_5162

Here you can see that I fit the stamp set I used and all six note cards with envelopes inside the Sara D. purse, with room to spare!

IMG_5158

My first step was to cut out all the pieces (Liz sent us 5 silhouette files that I imported into my library) with the designer paper and card stock I decided to use for this project.

IMG_5157

Assembly was a breeze with our Tombow mono-adhesive glue (“green glue”) and our awesome Tear-n-Tape!

IMG_5165

Liz recommended using our grid paper as a guide- it is very important to assemble the purse correctly so it is symmetrical and even on all sides.

IMG_5164

Side view of the Sara D. purse, with just the note cards inside.

IMG_5161

Close up of one of the six coordinating note cards I made using the Love & Affection stamp set and Floral Affection Textured Impressions Embossing Folders.

IMG_5160

All six note cards- each one is slightly different. I made three with our whisper white note cards and three with our crumb cake note cards.

IMG_5159

Here is a close up of how I was able to get three colors on this small flower image- I stamped the whole image in daffodil delight ink pad, then with a q-tip, I removed the yellow ink where I then used the Stampin’ write markers to “color” the watermelon wonder and cucumber crush ink onto the image, then with a “huff” of my breath (to moisten the marker ink- which dries quickly), then stamped my image. Love this color combo!

IMG_5174

IMG_5156

Here is my new Silhouette cameo machine- I had to rearrange my office area a bit, and moved my computer tower so everything would work correctly. There were lots of great You Tubes videos to help me get started. The Sara D. purse was my very first project with my new machine. What do you think? I’d love to hear from you, please leave me a comment. thanks!

We Create Blog Hop- July 2016

WCBH2016

Hello Everyone- thanks so much for stopping by today, and Happy July 1st! Hope you have some fun plans for the holiday weekend! Here we are with another awesome blog hop featuring Stampin’ Up! products… we offer a simple card or project, and then a “Stepped-Up” version for you. We hope this blog hop helps you see the possibilities (both plain and simple as well as fancy!)

First up is my simple card featuring the new stamp set called Live, Love, Grow (item # 141905) I pared this with a garden green cardstock base, daffodil delight for the mat, then a piece of Affectionately Yours DSP and whisper white for the top layer. I used memento black ink for stamping, then Sahara sand, garden green and cucumber crush ink pads for the sand and succulents.

For the “Stepped- Up” version, I added just a few enhancements- rounded corners, watercolor background soft sky, added new cucumber crush ribbon and from the tree builder punch the small pink flower.

These succulents were featured on the Stampin’ Up! blog on July 20, 2015 by the über talented Allison Okamitsu (a demonstrator and Artisan team member from Canada). My team had asked if we could make them and it took me a little while to gather the supplies and figure it out. Of course now one of the punches and one of the dies that Allison used is retired, that’s why I was happy to try to figure out if current product could be used to make the succulents.

Our new ovals framelits are perfect for this lone cactus… The little teacup was given to me by one of my team members, thanks Brigid it looks great! Gorgeous grunge stamp set was used with our craft white ink pad to give the cactus some texture and dimension. I squirted 1/2 a Styrofoam ball with my spritzer  (water and cucumber crush reinker).

I had a little broken pot so I played around with paper to fit one single succulent inside. What do you think?

Can you tell how much I love green? LOL. When I was on vacation last week, I almost bought a succulent arrangement in a wooden framed rectangle, it was adorable- I’m going to try to make one, I’ll keep you posted.

Now it’s time to go check out the rest of the creative team… click the “next” button below to go see what the amazing Kimberley has ready for us…. Don’t forget to leave us a comment- we love to know what you think about our creations.
