We Create Blog Hop- June 2016

Hi there Stampin’ Friends!! How excited are you that it is June 1 and the launch of our brand-new 2016–17 Annual Catalog? You will love all the new In-Colors and products!

This past Memorial weekend I spent time up at my parents trailer in Cape Vincent, New York. I went up to help them open up and clean the trailer, and while they watched their baseball games at night I worked on a TV tray and created some cards for a swap I am participating in, I decided to use this design for the blog hop today as well as it features several new products.
First for my inspiration I found this lawn ornament at my local Lowe’s. I love my new flirty flamingo!

This is the old TV tray I worked from.

This was my simple card,  I stamped pink pirouette ink with the watercolor wash stamp (so glad that carried over!) onto whisper white cardstock. The flamingo is stamped in melon mambo, and with a q-tip I removed the melon mambo from the legs and beak… then colored right on the rubber with basic black marker. Pop of Pink DSP and the “Hello” stamp are from the new kit called “Oh Happy Day!” (I just adore this new kit- it is so bright and colorful!) then fussy cut the palm leaf and pineapple.
And here is my stepped up version. I would love to know which one you like the most. I love to read your comments!

Here are the two cards side-by-side so you can compare. I’d love to hear from you, please leave me a comment! thanks!

  1. I agree with the others…each card is very cute! Love the black beak and legs of the first flamingo which make it very vivid. And the softer background and bright leaves on the second card have a contrast which I like. TFS!

  2. I wasn’t going to get this stamp set, but I saw all the fun samples with it and had to have it. I love the fussy cut card, but sure appreciate seeing a card with this set where the flamingo isn’t cut out, too. Great cards, thanks for sharing!

  3. Flamingos! So fun. They remind me of my grandfather in Florida. I love how you layered it onto the leaves.
