Creative Inking Easter Bunny Hop

creative hop

Hi there stamping friends! Welcome to another wonderful monthly hop with our Creative Inking group! What a talented group of Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators, and it’s a baker’s dozen this month- wow, 13 inspiring blogs to visit! I hope you’ll leave me a comment at the bottom of this post, I love to read your comments!

Our theme this month revolves around Easter- it sure is early this year! I had been toying with some ideas but then saw them pop up all over the internet and Pinterest. So back to the drawing board. I first decided to work on my memory albums I started for my niece and nephew. This year as a Christmas gift, I am going to give them each a 6″x 8″ album full of pictures of them doing fun things throughout the year and with our family from 2016. My goal is to make them 4 pages a month, so I’m not rushing in December to finish them. Wish me luck 😉

So here’s what I pre-made for Easter, now just need to snap some great pictures to pop right in here:

IMG_0748

The clear pages are awesome and double sided- and I love the uniformity of all my pictures and decorations being so easy to figure out. I didn’t use any of the Project Life card kits for this month, I didn’t find any that seemed “Easter-ish” so I made the inserts with new stamps from the Occasions catalog.

IMG_0749

I was inspired by BJ’s post the other day with this cute little bunny made from our new Friends & Flowers stamp set, it is the perfect addition to Claire’s Easter page. The bunny face is punched out with the 1 3/8″ circle punch and the bunny ears are punched out with the Festive Flower builder punch that carried over from the 2015 Holiday catalog- (you can see both products on page 46 of the new Occasions catalog).

Notice the new piece of Metallics Glitter Tape? It’s one of our new Saleabration offerings that just started this week!

Next up is a card design that I have been itching to make, I love the look of skinny strips of paper (it’s all over the place in quilt cards and fun folds, etc). but I wanted something a tad bit easier to put together, as I’m planning to offer this card in my Easter Peeps class coming up. So I started with our oval framelits to cut out a large opening on a piece of 3- 3/4″ x 5″ whisper white card stock.

IMG_0739

Then I went through my Birthday Blooms DSP, I had scraps that I cut into 3 1/2″ long pieces, the width varied from 1/4″ to 3/4″ (just don’t make them all the same)

IMG_0740

next I practiced aligning them to see what pieces of paper looked nice together, or not… don’t add any adhesives yet- just play with your layout.

IMG_0741

Then I carefully positioned the oval over the top of my paper pieces to “eyeball” it and see if I liked the arrangement, you can tweak this design until you get it right.

IMG_0742

Then carefully lift off the piece of whisper white and put adhesive (I used our Fast Fuse tape runner all around the edges of the backside of the oval). Then carefully place it on top of the paper pieces. Next I glued this down to my 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ whisper white card base. And then put a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Watermelon Wonder piece (die cut the next larger size oval so that when it’s overlaying the paper pieces it resembles an egg). I used Fast Fuse for this step also.

IMG_0743

I used the new Watermelon Wonder 1″ stitched satin ribbon and tied a fork bow, adhered with glue dots. Also stamped “Happy Easter” from the new single wood mount stamp Easter Lamb with Watermelon Wonder ink and punched out with the washi label punch.

IMG_0744

IMG_0745

As I’m typing this, I’m thinking it would look nice if the watermelon wonder card stock was embossed with the decorative dots textured impressions embossing folder, give it a try and let me know what you think.

All products are from the amazing new 2016 Occasions Catalog! If you’re new to Stampin’ Up! be sure to check out our fantastic Sale-A-Bration catalog! It’s our Annual Customer Appreciation Time! for every $50 you order (before tax/shipping), you can pick an item from the exclusive catalog- check out the links on my side-bar on the left- (or if you’re reading this from a mobile device- scroll to the bottom) *Please note the three items on pages 16-19 retired on February 15th, and we have the three new items (see the three videos I’ve added here below, you can see the versatility of these new products!).

I also wanted to share with you one of my favorite punch art projects from a few years ago:

IMG_0751

I love to make Easter cards and was looking for a chocolate Easter bunny stamp, but we didn’t have one at the time and I did a google search and found one similar to what I made (that’s called case-ing Copy And Share Everything). It’s fun to make punch art. I’m thinking of adding a monthly punch art class to my monthly class offerings, what do you think?

Black, White, & Whatever You Like, Stampin’ Friends Blog Hop

This month we are excited to have three Awesome Guest Hoppers that you should definitely check out:

1. Cindy Waldroff
2. Barbara Welch
3. Angela Carter

Ready to get started with my projects? The theme this month is “Black and White and Whatever You Like”…  there are so many awesome color schemes that coordinate nicely with black and white. I knew I wanted to use our brand new Sale-a-bration recent release of Pedal Pusher, and the last time I was on a bike was when I went to California in September on the Stampin’ Up! Incentive Trip and we rented beach cruisers to ride along the boardwalk. One of the bicycles was this dreamy mint macaron color, so that’s what I decided to go with for my “whatever I like” color.  Once I started this idea, I started noticing this color trio everywhere!

f_bella_w_7_mintgreen

So this was my inspiration for my card creation for the blog hop!

febbloghop

Luckily, as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator, I was able to pre-order the three new releases earlier this month, and had time to play with them all- and I just had to incorporate all three into this blog hop.

febbloghop2

I knew I wanted a pop of color, and our gorgeous washi tape did the trick!

febbloghop3

I knew I wanted it to be a birthday card, so the mini balloon punch and “It’s my party” enamel dots helped spruce it up.

febbloghop8

Then decided at the last minute to add some mini pearls too… what do you think?

Now to create a coordinating gift card holder…

febbloghop4

The new Metallics Glitter tape is a breeze to tear and use- no scissors needed! I love the shimmer and sparkle it adds to the mini treat bag holder.

febbloghop5

At first I planned to turn the bag on it’s side, but I didn’t really care for this orientation, so I turned it:

febbloghop6

Much better, don’t you think?

febbloghop6

Now for the inside- had to use the brand new set “Party Pants”… don’t you love that sentiment “put your party pants on”??? I love it!

What’s new?

Hi there stampin friends, how are you? Well I have some bad news… My furnace kicked the bucket it did not come at a very good time I can tell you, so the decision I have to make today is – do I splurge and also get a central air-conditioning unit now too? If I’m going to get a new furnace I guess I might as well do it all at once, right? I am debating between the two brands this company recommended to me: Trane and Guardian… Wish me luck!

Well, on to some good news! Sale-A-Bration just got more exciting with the release of new products you can earn starting TODAY! See what’s new below along with three videos sharing how to use these products! Earn a FREE Sale-A-Bration gift for every $50 in products you order (based on your total before shipping and tax).

It’s time to say goodbye…

Good morning friends sorry about the nearly blank post the other day, I hit the wrong button on my blog post and it went out with just one paragraph. I’ve been making lots of mistakes lately, (unfortunately)… I’m not sure what’s going on, someone the other day said it’s because I am “middle aged” I’m not really sure how I feel about that distinction but forgive me – I do make a lot of mistakes.

So here is the post that I wanted to share with you because today is the last day for these three free products in our Saleabration offerings:

You can get this 9 piece stamp set in either clear or wood but only until TODAY with a $50 order before shipping and tax. Here is a sample. This set can be used in so many ways with all the cute little verses like “my friend”, “birthday boy”, “birthday girl” and “little sunshine.

The Perfectly Artistic Designer Series Paper is a must have with it’s soft colors and marble design. Again you can get this pack of designer series paper that has 12 – 12″ x 12″ sheets: 2 each of 6 designs with a $50, but only until today (midnight).

Look at some of the gorgeous things you can make with this paper, I am truly addicted to this paper it is awesome!

And last but not least is the Stamp Set: The Sky is The Limit. This set soared in popularity at my classes and workshops this month. Don’t let this set fly away without adding it to your stamp collection!

I have to say I love everything that has been made with this stamp set- it’s a keeper!
