Happy Thanksgiving!

Last month we hired a local photographer to come to our parents house to take photographs. She spent so much time with us, got all the groupings we wanted and the prints have been ordered.  (It was so hard to decide because there were literally dozens of awesome pictures).

Her name is Kira and the name of her business is Barefoot photography. She lives here and Glennville and I highly recommend her – she was wonderful to work with! I wanted to color-coordinated group shot so we all agreed to wear plain black tops. (It wasn’t until the day before our photo shoot that my dad realized he didn’t have a black shirt, lol I think his green blends in just fine especially with our barn as the backdrop.)

This picture reflects what I am most thankful for this Thanksgiving, my father’s recovery from his accident, heart attacks, and surgeries. It has been a long road and a life-changing event, but this Thanksgiving I feel ultra blessed that we are all able to gather together.

So from the Streifert family to all of you -we wish you a very happy Thanksgiving. If you’re traveling, I wish you safe travels.

Many thanks for all your support with my stamping business this year- I am thankful for all of you as well!

Wishing you blessings,

Lynn

Lynnzcrafters Team Get Together & Online Extravaganza Sale! (Sale starts 11/23)

Good morning stamping friends!! I wanted to share with you some amazing cards stamped by my very own team, the Lynnzcrafters! We had our monthly get together on Thursday night and had a lot of fun laughing, playing a Stampin’ Up! trivia game, earning holiday catalog prizes, stamping, eating yummy treats, and of course swapping!

When we had been on our retreat back in October the girls asked for 3D make-and-takes. So I decided to teach them how to make some popular gifts/craft fair items. They all loved them!

First up was this amazing tic-tac holder designed by Erica Cerwin (she was a guest speaker at it online class I took last month).

Next up was this adorable hot cocoa pouch, see the mini spoon? Adorable right? I have been making hot cocoa containers for craft fairs for years and loved using our new products on this one.

My final project was this pillow box die project, so sad this is retiring! You must get this!! it will help you with all your crafting needs! It is perfect to hold gift cards, earrings, necklaces, bracelets, candy, small handmade gifts, the list goes on and on hurry and order this before we sell out!

Now for the amazing swaps (The name of the person who made each card is on the photo):

I bet you are wow-ed, right??!! These girls do some awesome work I feel so blessed to stamp with them!

Since I had just hit my $100,000 in sales milestone the day before I stopped to buy this delicious chocolate peanut butter mousse cake from a local bakery called Villa Italia, it was amazing!

Finally here is a picture of most of my team… Tiffany was missing from this photo.

Thank you ladies for a fun night of laughing, and stamping. I especially love the laughter it really is a bonding experience to have these friendships I adore you all!!

Creative Inking Blog Hop- Terrific Techniques!

creative hop

Hi there stamping friends! How are you? Can you believe another month has gone by and it’s now time for our November Creative Inking Blog Hop?? I’m so excited to see what the other demonstrators are going to show us today!

My technique card for today is a card inspired by the Northern Lights. On the news recently, they showed some images from Canada and Norway which were just beautiful and I instantly thought “that should be on a card”! So here is my interpretation of a Christmas card featuring the Northern Lights.

If you want to learn more about the Northern Lights (or Aurora Borealis is their scientific name) go here to read and see more:

This photo of the northern lights was shot this summer near Rochester, NY by Brad Timerson, of Newark.

I just loved the purple, mint green, dark blue and hint of pink from Brad’s photo, so I attempted to re-create it here on my card:

This card took me four tries to get just the look I was happy with… I wish I had taken photos of all my previous attempts so you could see the creative process at work.

I started with just perfect plum and mint macaron, but that wasn’t vivid enough. After a few tries I decided to add more colors, and you can see my full color line up here:

I used sponge daubers to swirl the colors on in a circular pattern (think spiral- like a snail shell), I started in the middle with perfect plum, then watermelon wonder, then daffodil delight, then mint macaron, and on the outer circle were night of navy and some more perfect plum. Don’t be afraid to get your fingers dirty! After finishing up the northern lights swirls, then I stamped the new Wonderland pine trees in Stazon ink a few times, then with 2-way glue pen I outlined some of the trees and applied dazzling diamonds glitter. Then I cut the sleigh image from sleigh ride edgelits die on piece of whisper white card stock. and stamped “Silent night” sentiment in Night of Navy ink and added more dazzling diamonds glitter with the two way glue pen.

Lastly, (and because I had a tiny smudge and didn’t want to start all over again), I added a wooden snowflake element and stepped it up with some basic rhinestones for added bling.

What do you think?? This is not my usual card style, and has many more steps than I would try in my clubs or classes, but I was happy with how this last version came out. If you are interested in trying this technique, have fun, and let me know what colors you think look good together to represent the “northern lights”. I love to read your comments!

I want to thank all of my wonderful customers, friends, family and downline who helped me achieve a huge milestone in my stamping business yesterday- I finalized my club order for the month and I hit my $100,000 career sales mark!!  Most of you know that last year I really stepped up my stamping business to earn my very first incentive trip… and now to reach this milestone!!  I am so very blessed to have such wonderful and dedicated people who have helped me these past seven  years, and I could never have done it without you! THANK YOU!!

I’m at the Rexford firehouse today for craft fair…

I wanted to share with you my new set up, I was blessed to find these awesome shelves at the Salvation Army last week and I painted them on Wednesday afternoon. What do you think of this set up?

I did so well at this craft fair and I’m so thankful for all my friends, family, customers, and downline who stopped by to see me!

I did run out of several items so after a full day at the craft fair I stopped at target to get some more supplies and I made these items last night to replenish for today.

More popcorn wrappers with soft fuzzy gloves, Rudolf Hershey candy bar wrappers, Santatizers, and hot cocoa gift packs. What do you think?

So I hope you come visit me and shop amongst our 30 crafters today at the Rexford firehouse on Balltown Road that is between burnt Hills in Niskayuna. We are open from 10 AM to 4 PM.

I hope you have a lovely day!

Lynn
