Hooray for Halloween/Amazing Autumn Creative Inkling Blog Hop

creative hopHi there Stamping Friends!

September is a super busy month, but I love the cooler temperatures (not a fan of hot weather), and my trees have been dropping pretty red and orange leaves for a few weeks now. I love autumn and I love Halloween! What a terrific theme for our blog hop this month, I hope you like my offerings and please leave me a comment- I love to hear from you and welcome your comments!

First up is a set of cards that I made for Halloween. Originally this was going to be offered at our Fall Fest stamping get together in a few weeks, but we decided to do just generic autumn cards for that event.

So this adorable owl card was one of my September club cards. Some club ladies decided to put the magic wand in the owls hand, but I forgot to take a picture of anyone else’s card super cute though I love this new stamp set!

This next card is another adorable Halloween card that I may do for one of my stamping get-togethers with the senior citizens they mentioned that they would like a Halloween card next time we get together so I will be showing them this one.

Next up is a gorgeous wreath that I saw on display at convention this summer. One of the artisan design team members, Allison O. (from Canada),  her blog name is “nice people stamp”. I knew from the second I saw this wreath that I wanted to re-create it and when I told my downline about it and showed them photos I took -they wanted to do it at one of our team get-togethers. So this Tuesday night 10 of my downline will be coming over … they all bought their own grapevine wreaths, and we will be stamping, cutting, and hot gluing these little babies together. Wish us luck!

I could not really figure out how Allison had made the little pinecones out of paper and lucky for me here in upstate New York and the beginning stages of autumn- my pine trees have dropped a lot of pinecones so I picked over 100 pinecones up today so everyone should have enough to hot glue those onto their wreath, if they want.

Last but not least I wanted to show you the season to season wreath decorated for autumn. I had a small class Friday night and we made these up …boy are Stampin’ Up! kits just amazing?? there are so many extra parts that the possibilities are endless!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, would love to read your comments, and also- don’t forget to click “next” or “back” to hop around 11 other awesome demonstrators websites for their offerings! Have a great day!

Stamp Out Breast Cancer!

To show our support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Paper Pumpkin boxes are going PINK for the month of October! And, Stampin’ Up! will make a donation to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The best part — Paper Pumpkin subscribers will determine the amount of the donation!
For those of you who don’t know, paper pumpkin is the name of our adorable monthly arts and crafts kit that comes in the mail with everything you need to complete the cards or projects.

Stampin’ Up! will donate:

  • $1 for every active Paper Pumpkin subscriber.
  • Plus, an additional $1 for every new subscriber who signs up by October 10.
  •  That means $2 for every NEW subscriber!

Wondering how to get started?

  • Subscribe by clicking here: www.paperpumpkin.com and be sure to type in my name as your demonstrator (Lynn Streifert). You will earn rewards points from me for every month you are active (good towards adhesives, classes, etc). (These reward points are in lieu of the monthly paper pumpkin party I used to offer all my subscribers as attendance was dwindling and I wanted to reward those who stayed active with paper pumpkin even if I couldn’t offer an event).
  • Or I can help you order a monthly subscription on one of my orders- if you’re new to Paper Pumpkin you can receive a 1, 3, 6 or 12 month subscriptions.
  • Your first kit will arrive in a limited-edition pink box that you’ll want to hold onto forever-and Stampin’ Up! will donate $2 because you’re new!
  • Stay active if you’re a current subscriber so Stampin’ Up! can donate $1 for you. Only those who receive the October shipment will be counted for the donation.
  • Help spread the word! Let’s all rally for new Paper Pumpkin subscribers to raise as much for this cause as possible.

More About the Breast Cancer Research Foundation

BCRF is a world-class organization, dedicated to ending breast cancer and Stampin’ Up! is excited to be teaming up with them to make this happen. Their mission is to advance the world’s most promising research to eradicate breast cancer. To learn about more ways to help, please visit www.bcrfcure.org

Additional Details:

  • New subscribers are those who signed up between September 11 and October 10, 2015 and have not been a Paper Pumpkin subscriber at any time in the past. (Stampin’ Up! tracks you by your email address)
  • All funds will be donated in US dollars.
  • Mini spoiler alert! The October project inside the pink box is just as awesome as always, but according to Stampin’ Up!, it is NOT a pink project.
  • Funds will be donated based on number of subscribers instead of boxes shipped. But, if you want more than one pink box, you can always increase your subscription quantity by logging into your account at PaperPumpkin.com before October 10.

What a worthy cause and I’m so proud to be a part of the Stampin’ Up! family! Do you want to join me in helping to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer? I hope to hear from you!!

*And don’t forget I’m excepting registrations for my team and I are offering a card making event called Fall Fest on Saturday, October 3 (at the burnt Hills United Methodist Church from 2 to 5 PM ) I will be posting photos tomorrow and a registration form hope you can make it!

My First “We Create Blog Hop!” Step it Up!

We Create 2015

Hello there Stampin’ Friends, how are you?? I am so thrilled to be invited to participate in an awesome monthly blog hop with the “We Create Blog Hop” team! (pinch me, I must be dreaming!) I have admired these ladies work for some time, and on a whim I emailed one of them when I saw they were looking for some new demos to join the hop. Thank you Jeanna and Julie for this amazing opportunity!

So the way this blog hop works, is each month we’ll design a card using Stampin’ Up! products and then “step it up a notch” showcasing more advanced techniques and/or more products. Isn’t that a great idea? Well since today is the release of the brand new 2015 Holiday Catalog, I decided to show you a special card that I used for a both a swap I participated in by mail, and then I also used another version for my monthly Christmas Stamp-a-Stack last night.

IMG_5727

So it started when I wanted to put the black cat on the new window framelit and thought about what would the inside wall look like to be looking outside at a cozy scene? That’s when I thought of an interior brick wall, and out came the new brick textured impression embossing folder. I then played around with both the chalker marker and the uniball white gel pen to see what look more realistic. what do you think? Soft suede ink was sponged on in a few places to give the bricks an aged look.

So here is the simple version of my card:

step it up

I love how the little village looks through the window, don’t you? The Home For Christmas Designer Series paper is a real wow! I love every piece in this collection and am going to stock up on this paper for all my Christmas cards and home decor, I love it!

But to create a “Stepped Up” version of this card, I decided to use some new Real Red Pom-Pom trim (I’m seriously in love with this stuff and think we should have it in EVERY color- who’s with me??) and the new Real Red 1/8″ stripped ribbon and our awesome gold sequin trim is stapled on to the little Note Tag punch. I think this tag “steps up” the card, don’t you?

So here are the swap cards before going out in the mail.

IMG_5750

This was a little “teaser” I posted on my Facebook business page to get people excited about the new Holiday Catalog… it worked (I hope).

The funny thing was that I was pet sitting at my sister’s while I was creating these swaps and the cards for this blog hop, and I also made our new witches hat. Here’s a picture of that:

IMG_5717

As you can see we love little black cats in our family. This is Louie, it took me a long time to get a nice picture of him next to the hat. (He’s not a cat you can just pick up and put where you want him, it took two hours of waiting for him to come up on the counter- oops… shouldn’t let the cat out of the bag that I encouraged him up there, don’t tell my sister- okay??  thanks!)

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, are you ready to go visit Julie’s blog and see what she came up with? click the “Next blog” icon below: (I have more news below about new Holiday Catalog, clearance rack and Weekly deals, keep reading if you’re not ready to leave my page).
