Lake Luzerne Crafty Get-Away

This was our 2nd Annual Lake Luzerne Lynnzcrafters Team Crafty Weekend Get-Away. Wow, there are not enough words to describe the fun, friendship, creativity and joy that we experienced. They say a picture speaks a thousand words, well here’s a few of my favorites from the weekend:

Sheila started her Halloween Wreath!

Wendy made the Halloween card I brought up for a Make and Take.

Amye and Tiffany hamming it up 🙂

Jamie sneaking into the pulled pork deliciousness, good thing I caught her!

This is what a “Crafternoon” looks like, or should I call it “Craftermath”???

Amye’s Make and Take a fun fall card.

Tiffany’s Make and Take, how cute using the cupcake punch for a rain cloud???

Loved this card in a box Amye made using the Holiday Home set! So adorable!

Jamie’s Make and Take, this ornament is so fun to color!!

Sheila’s Make and Take, I can’t believe I hadn’t thought to cut those little flags out, it really was easy!

Tiffany’s masterpiece with Visions of Santa stamp set, I meant to make a card or two (I like the moose in that set the most).

Wendy’s card in a box using Visions of Santa. Lots of fussy cutting here.

Tiffany made this card for a friend (I hope I’m not spoiling it here on my blog!!)

Oodles of talent here, right??

This was just what we accomplished on Saturday! Wowza!!

As you can see I lounged in my pj’s most of the day (only when I started having hot flashes did I take off the flannel pj’s for capris.

This was my other Make and Take project- a fall framed art piece- love those little wooden cutouts!

We had a beautiful weekend and I can’t wait to go back. My friend who owns the cottage, also named Wendy, is generously letting us come back up in April! YIPPEEE!!! I can’t wait to plan that weekend of fun! Everyone took a meal and brought up some fun snacks too. I feel so blessed that these awesome women are on my team! We missed our stamping sisters who couldn’t join us, but we were thinking of you and all your family activities, hoping that all went well for you!

Well thanks so much for stopping by my blog today, there are a few more pictures to show of some things that I made, but I’m going to wait and show you as they are related to some upcoming classes and events that I have coming up.

I would LOVE to read your comments, have you ever been to Lake Luzerne? What would you do on a crafty weekend get-away? Would you like to come in the spring?? Join my team and you can come with us!

Have a great day!

World Card Making Day- Oct. 4th

world card making

Hi There!

You are invited! My team and I are organizing a FREE card making event for you, to celebrate that Saturday October 4th, 2014 is World Card Making Day! We have rented the Knight Hall at Burnt Hills United Methodist Church on Rt. 50 … the event is open from 1-4 pm (you can choose any hour to attend, it is an “Open House” style event that shouldn’t take you more than an hour to make 2 cards).

In lieu of a cost to make cards, we ask that you bring a donation (from the suggested list of items the church can use for their ministry, see below), any and all donations are graciously accepted.

You will receive a ticket with two table numbers on it when you arrive-We will assign you to the tables based on openings at that time, so the tables are not congested. There will be many different styles and types of cards, and we are sure you are going to enjoy stamping and creating some cards featuring Stampin’ Up! products. My team and I will be preparing a variety of different cards, and there will be one “free for all” table, where you can create from scraps any card you’d like!

Please RSVP by 9/27 at noon, or as soon as you are sure you can attend.
We are going to limit this event to the first 50 people who email me at

We are very excited to bring you this fun event! Please help us spread the word to anyone you know who might enjoy coming to make some handmade cards!

We will have a display of some cards and gifts made from our new Holiday line of awesome products. There will be a raffle basket of Stampin’ Up! Product at the end of the day, raffle tickets will be given to anyone who books a home party and/or orders any products from our current catalogs that day.

Here is a card I came up with as one possible choice, and as always we will have alternate sentiments available for your card, so you can make it as you need it.

Suggested Donations:
School supplies and children’s books (we will pass these along to Schenectady Inner City Ministry, the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen, or the Refugee Center in Albany) and/or toilet paper, diapers and feminine supplies are always in demand, as these are expensive and not covered by EBT cards.

Stamp and Sip Success!

Wowza! Yesterday was the launch party for a new concept: “Stamp and Sip”… (have you heard about Paint and Sip? well, it’s similar only with Stampin’ Up! Products not a canvas and oil paint).

I am so thankful that my wonderful upline Dania invited me to participate in this concept with her, and we were lucky to be able to get back in at the Clifton Park Elks, it’s been a little while since we’ve been there- only because of how busy they have gotten. Love their big large room. The only glitch was that the bar was not open, and some of my customers wanted a glass of wine. I felt horrible- the bar has been open for every other event I’ve attended there. My apologies to anyone who wanted anything other than water!

They say a picture speaks a thousand words, well how about a bunch of pictures? We had a milk chocolate fondue station and a dark chocolate fondue station. Strawberries, bananas, cookies, marshmellows, pretzel rods, and graham cracker crumbs (a little s’more style fondue!) it was sooo yummy!

I was so excited to meet so many nice new ladies, and see some I hadn’t seen in years! Everyone seemed to enjoy staying in one spot, we rotated the projects to them. There were six projects we prepared and I think people really liked the Paper Pumpkin projects. Stampin’ Up! has really increased the value and quality (and quantity) of the supplies in each month’s kit. Just a few more days to sign up to receive My Paper Pumpkin at half price for your first two months!

Just go to and set up your secure, confidential online account. Type in your information and be sure to type in my name, Lynn Streifert, Glenville, NY as your demonstrator. Every month I do something special for my paper pumpkin subscribers. Stay tuned for more great fun coming up this fall.  Here’s a flyer with the details: Paper Pumpkin Half Off Deal ends 9/10/14

I had so much fun watching so many new friends stamp and sip today that I’m already trying to figure out when and where I can do my next event. If anyone in the Glenville area knows of a very reasonable priced space that holds 30-40 people, let me know! I’m going to try to offer this at least once a month, stay tuned!

I hope you have a great day, thanks for stopping by to visit my blog today!

August sure was a bittersweet month, many of my friends faced unspeakable hardships, job loss, financial challenges, heartbreaking changes, death of family, friends and loved ones and the unexpected loss of a friend’s broken engagement.  My niece is off to college, which should be atotally joyous time, but I know it is a big change for our family, and know we will all miss her so much.  Many tears were shed and prayers said, for comfort and healing for so many friends who are hurting.

With the flick of the calendar, it is now September… and  with hope, faith and love, we try to move on. Changing jobs, new locations, healing hearts…. we take things day by day. So today, I don’t have much to show you, I just wanted you to know I’ve had a very heavy heart these past few weeks. It’s been bittersweet because I have been working my Stampin’ Up! business extra hard and in doing so have been meeting new people and crafting with many of you.  Your support and orders have been a true answer to prayers, thank you so much for helping me with my goals. Over the weekend I had a free shipping deal to reach my goal, and seven awesome people stepped up and helped me double my goal.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You know who you are!! August happened to be a month that has been my “best” month ever in terms of sales and recruiting. It wasn’t easy. At times I was tired and thought of giving up (or curling up with a good book). That’s why I say “bittersweet”, and at times I feel guilty when I know so many people are suffering.

I’ve had to make some changes, decisions as to how I will spend my time, and in focusing on my Stampin’ Up! business it means I can’t do everything I used to do. I miss some long time friends, many whom I’ve stamped with for almost 6 years. The decision to stay with SCCC for another semester was not made lightly, I always said if I could make more with SU then I could give up being an adjunct, but the numbers just didn’t work enough yet to give that up yet… and they changed the text book this semester, so I am having to spend more time re-grouping than I would normally need at the beginning of a new semester.

Why am I sharing all of this with you? So you can understand why I’ve made more mistakes lately, or not been as “thorough” as in the past, or why I haven’t been at every event that I used to attend. I’m just trying to let you know that it’s been a difficult month and I’m really hoping September is better.

Sometimes a good hug from a friend is just the right thing to brighten your day, so here’s one from me to you:

I promise I’ll post more “stamping” stuff tomorrow, and the next day, but I just wanted to share this with you this morning…. if you’re headed off to a new job or school, or you’re uncertain what the day will bring, please know that I care and I’m praying for you.

Thanks for stopping by,
