Summer Lovin’ Had Me a Blast

Do you love summer?? I do! I love the longer days, the sunshine, the county fairs, the rodeo, vacations, family get togethers, cold drinks, long walks and going to the beach. Well, I haven’t been to the beach yet this summer- but I still have hope! I heard the song from Grease (Summer Lovin’) and it got me to thinking about doing a Project Life album about all the things I love, and all the fun I’ve had this summer. Have you been curious about Project Life? My dear friend Shirley lives in a nearby Senior Retirement Complex and it has been a thrill to be able to go in and make cards and do crafts with her and the other residents. At times I’ve had my friends and downline to help me out, and my niece and nephews, and sister too. We’ve also had some of our girl scouts attend, but everyone was so scattered this summer, so I went last week with just my family. It was so sweet and so special, and even though it had been a sad week and a lot of tragedy all around, I’ll tell you that it was such a joy to make cards with these seniors. They adored the children, and I can’t wait to go back. If you are local, and would like to volunteer with us, I try to go once a month, so let me know and I’ll keep you posted on our fall schedule there.

We had about 15 people stop by to make cards and I didn’t get pictures of everyone… Just the beginning and the end of the night. Some of the residents require a little assistance and I know they love having the kids help them.
