Happy Thursday morning friends! I had the extreme pleasure of assisting our Girl Scout community with our first float for the Scotia Memorial Parade which was last night. We planned for months, and I think the float and the girls all looked great…. what do YOU think? We invited some Mothers who are in the military to join us on our float. We had three awesome ladies agree to be in the parade with us. To thank them for their service and time with us, we made them each a Thank You card, while we were “mustering” before the parade started I had the girls from Glendaal sign the three cards.
My sister Sue, our Girl Scout Leader Patty, and Michelle and Sharon helped coordinate the trailer, truck, hay bales, decorations, and logistics. There is a LOT of planning that goes into a parade, and safety is the first concern. Kudos Patty for coordinating an awesome float!! And mucho thanks to all the girls scouts, families and leaders who helped and marched!!
We had a spotter on each side of the trailer in case girls needed help. My sister painted these two “girl power” banners- aren’t they cute??
Patty brought the Girl Scout Cookie costumes and girls took turns wearing them…. how cute??
Here’s my sister with her other handy work- this is our troop banner she made for us last year (but the heavy rain cancelled last year’s parade).
Here is our troop (minus a few girls who were marching with their soft ball teams)- we made the T-shirts a few weeks ago. The front of the shirts are designed with the words “Future____” and I was so touched when my niece Claire designed her shirt “Future Teacher” !! The back of our shirts say “Girl Power” and our Troop numbers. They loved using Puffy Paint!
Thank you to our Military Moms!!
