Christmas, Single Stamps, Stampin Up

Christmas Star (Do’s and Don’ts)…

image

I came up with this card for a team get together we had the other night, it is made with one of our new single stamps called Christmas Star. I used Midnight Muse ink and card stock with Whisper White and Silver Glimmer for some accents. But this wasn’t what my “minds eye” first thought of, I originally wanted to make the star in silver and emboss it…. But look what happened when I scored it to make it a 3D star:

Can you see how it flaked off? So I tried it with just our new silver metallic ink pad, and check this out:

Still not what I was looking for, but once I switched to the deep blue of our rich Midnight Muse, I knew this was it for me. Sometimes it takes a couple tries to get things just right, you know?

This star was a cinch to turn into 3D with our awesome Simply Scored Board, after hand cutting out the star, I just score right on the white spaces, then gently creased them to pop it up.

What do you think?

Oh, and those little silver stars next to the “Merry Christmas”? They are covering up a small smudge… Do you ever add to your card because you don’t want to re-stamp??

Well, that’s it for tonight, happy crafting- thanks so much for stopping by my blog!
