Happy Memorial Day!

Hi there friends! I hope you all had an enjoyable, long weekend! I dug out two old cards to share, from my patriotic cards, I usually put up a few on my buffet in my dining room, and switch cards with my seasonal decorations.

What do you think?

If you, or a loved one, served (or is serving) in our country’s military, my deepest thanks for your sacrifices… I know our freedom isn’t free. Bless you on this special day and forever more!

Happy stamping!

Friday Faves… my favorite new product!

Well hello there! guess what I played with tonight??? Can you notice anything new in this photo? I was able to “Pre-order” some new products that will be coming out in the new Annual Catalog (it launches next Friday May 31st). In fact, I hadn’t played with it until one of my uplines, the wonderful Dania, selected the new Buttons and Blossoms Simply Pressed Clay Molds and our new Simply Pressed Clay for one of our cards we are featuring at Stamp-a-Palooza (one more day to register for our very fun event on June 1st in Clifton Park… contact me for more details!) Anyway, there is one mold that makes 3 different sized buttons and another mold that makes 3 different sized flowers. You can change the color of the white clay by either adding our reinkers directly to the clay and kneading it in (knead it very well to mix it in), OR you can color your completed flower or button by either painting it on with an aqua painter and reinkers or you can spritz it on with one of our spritzers (filled with rubbing alcohol and reinkers). It does take a little extra drying time, BUT these new molds are so wonderful- just imagine how you will ALWAYS have the ability to add a coordinating embellishment to any project you are making! *Just wear rubber gloves while kneading in the color to protect your hands… our reinkers will stain your skin.

when you get your new catalog, be sure to check these products out on page 167. The container of clay is $6.95 and makes over 100 buttons or roses, and the 2 molds together are only $7.95. What a bargain!

I sure hope you all have gotten all the retiring stamps and accessories! Only one week left! Here is a link to my online store: http://LynnStreifert.Stampinup.net and click "Shop Now" and then click "retiring products".
Remember to use hostess code: AQ69YM49 The hostess for this order is Amy DeBiase and she is working towards earning a discount to get a Big Shot. Would love if you could help her out.

I’m wishing all of you a very wonderful Memorial Weekend. If any of you have loved ones who have served (or are serving) in our Military- my thanks to you for your service to our country. My dad was in the Army, my grandfather and brother-in-law were in the Navy. Proud of them and the sacrifices they made. {hugs}

My Paper Pumpkin… what is it? why should you try it?

paper pumpkin

Hi There Stamping Friends!
Have you been wondering what all the hub is about My Paper Pumpkin? You heard me mention it once before, but I haven’t been spending much time talking about it, until tonight-let me fill you in. If you can think of someone who would like this monthly subscription kit, please read on as I have some very exciting rewards for you if you refer a Paper Pumpkin Subscriber to me!

I came home from work tonight and listened to a webinar that Stampin’ Up! put on three different times today for demonstrators. I just love how SU offers things multiple times, so for those of us who work full time, we can always catch it at night when we’re home…. anyway, I listened to the webinar and loved some of the analogies they used when explaining what Paper Pumpkin is all about.

First, it is a magical surprise that arrives in your mailbox every month. If you’d like the convenience of not having to order a lot of Stampim’ Up! products as you’re getting started with stamping, then this is for you. Just think about cardstock, stamps, ink, paper trimmer, punches, dies, ribbon, buttons, embellishments. It all adds up, right? Do you get overwhelmed and wonder what you should order? Do you like to make a handmade card now and then? would you like to make things quickly? My Paper Pumpkin is designed for you busy people, think about how awesome it would feel to make your cards in 30 minutes or less. It’s also a space saving way to get started, the neat little boxes can stack up easily to store your remaining products (stamps, ink, block) or consolidate and keep everything in one box. (Just like those prepackaged fruit and veggie snacks in the grocery store for busy people- this is just like that!)

So what do you get in your monthly kit? When you first sign up, you will receive this “Welcome Kit”. It contains a clear “D” size block, an ink spot, stamps, card stock, and the embellishments you need to complete the projects … the only thing you will need will be some adhesive- and here’s the good part- if you sign up for My Paper Pumpkin by May 25th (yes- that’s this Saturday) then I will give you a free adhesive (either snail adhesive roll or bottle of Tom Bow All Purpose Glue). This is a photo (above) of the welcome kit! How adorable, right??!?!

Here’s a photo of what was in the April kit. How stinking cute is this? I just love saying “Seriously”… how perfect to add this stamp to other cards.

And here’s a photo of the kit we received this month, May. It’s a “Brag Book”, how adorable is that?

Kits will never be repeated, will never have holidays (because everyone doesn’t celebrate the same holidays), and cost is only $19.95 per month- which includes shipping/handling, tax will be added at check out.

Are you ready to sign up, and get that free adhesive from me? GO to https://mypaperpumpkin.com/en/
Click “Join” and fill in your mailing information, and be sure to type in my name, Lynn Streifert, when it asks for your demonstrator’s name. I will receive an email notification when you sign up, and then I’ll know to contact you and ask you what kind of adhesive you’d like for free!

For everyone who signs up by June 10th and stays subscribed for at least 3 months, will receive a package of cardstock and envelopes (12 pieces each) for your continued stamping pleasure with your new kit contents!

Now, you might be wondering what reward awaits you for referring a new Paper Pumpkin Subscriber to me- I’m going to give you a free adhesive too if they sign up by Saturday May 25th too! That’s right, when you help a friend or family member sign up on http://www.mypaperpumpkin.com and select me as their demonstrator, and you email me and tell me their name and date they signed up, I will give you a free adhesive too (snail refill, Tombow Glue, Glue Stick or Dimensionals) as my special thank you!

If you have any questions, email me at LStreifert@nycap.rr.com and I’ll get right back to you!
I know how busy you are, so thank you for taking the time to read my blog. I appreciate that you came to visit me and read my blog.

Don’t forget to sign up by Saturday May 25th for your free adhesive!

Happy Stamping and Crafting!

Don’t forget there’s only 1 week left to order from the current catalog and Spring Catalog- wow, how did it get to be almost the end of May??? Go to my online store at http://LynnStreifert.stampinup.net to see what’s still left on the Retirement Lists!!

Masking and Spritzing

Hi There Stamping Friends- I hope all is well with you! I sure have been busy with the end of the semester, and 32 final exams to grade for my Developmental Psych class. And this weekend was a quick little get-away with my family to Gloucester, Mass. We had a really nice weekend, but no wifi at the house we rented…so I wasn’t able to blog this weekend… but it felt great to unplug, you know what I mean?

Here is a great tutorial on how to mask and spritz (fill a spritzer bottle with rubbing alcohol – about 3/4 full, then add about 6-7 drops of  re-inkers) to create your own background paper for a nice card- the concept artist from Stampin’ Up! is Christina N. Hint- for even spritzing coverage, be sure to hold your hand back from the card stock you are spraying and push spritzer bottle quickly and firmly.

Step one – Punch out a bunch of hearts.

Step two – Cover the backs of the hearts with some Multipurpose Liquid Adhesive and let them dry; this should only take a few minutes. (The dried glue will create a repositionable/non-permanent adhesive on the backs of the hearts.)

Step three – Place hearts on the card base. Use the Paper-Piercing Tool to do this.

Step four – Spritz your card all over using even coverage.

Step five – Remove a few hearts and spritz all over again.

Step six – Remove a few more hearts and spritz all over again.

Step seven – Remove all of the remaining hearts and clean up any extra adhesive left behind using an adhesive remover. Your card base is finished!

Step eight – Embellish and finish up your card.

This is a fun and easy card, and another good use of the Owl Punch!
Happy Stamping!

Wonderful Workshop!

Hello stamping friends!
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I know I did! I wanted to blog about a wonderful workshop I did last night for my dear friend Amy DeBiase at her beautiful shop, Bliss Gifts and Home Decor on Jay Street in Schenectady. Her back room was nice and cozy, with 14 stampers (12 adults, 2 children)! I have to admit I had a wave of nerves and profuse sweating that came over me as we began, I think I realized how long it had been since I was in a room of newbies… And I should have planned some simpler techniques, although everyone did great, despite my blunder.

Here’s what the room looked like before stampers:

Doesn’t this look amazing?!?! Amy has such amazing pieces of art, I kept looking around her shop while we stamped, of course I want 1 of everything! Lol. Wait until you see what she is refurbishing for me, I can’t wait to show you all another one of her amazing pieces!

Here are the three cards we made:

Amy loves the vintage look, and all these cards were designed just for her! There were a few steps I forgot to talk about (stamp first, then punch)… But I think everyone had a great time! There were so many stampers that I didn’t have a minute to take any action shots!

Some of the ladies turned their cards into Mother’s Day cards, I’m sure their moms will love their handmade creations!

Don’t forget my online contest! If you want a chance to win the set “By the Tide” shown here:
